Chapter 3 - Step siblings

"Oh? You're early today, little sister." The oldest daughter of Count Thillion, Liera Delfon Thillion, raised an eyebrow.

"Greetings, big sister." Renzille grasped the hem of her dress and lowered her head, paying respect to the heir of the County. "And yes, I was very fortunate that I didn't encounter any hindrances on my way here."

The other two siblings on the table choked on their drinks, each of them controlling the laugh that wanted to escape.

The hindrances Renzille was talking about was Celine Delfina Thillion and it was no secret that Celine was always out to cause trouble for Renzille, but no one tried to stop Celine because it was entertaining them.

Well, except for the youngest Thillion.

"A lovely morning to you, big sister." The youngest greeted Renzille, her blank face possibly setting off strangers due to how her eyes looked like she was glaring, but Renzille knew better.

"A pleasant morning to you as well, Bluria." Renzille returned the greeting with a nod of her head before taking a seat beside her.

Bluria's face lit up with a small smile after Renzille's greeting, her heart fluttering with happiness.

As soon as Renzille took a seat, attendants and servants of the restaurant crowded their table— each of them assisting the children of the house Thillion which are known to have multiple plots of lands that have businesses built on them.

Rumor has it, Count Thillion makes double the kingdom's businesses' annual incomes combined.

So what do they have to do to be in the kind grace of the children of Count Thillion? Serve them with utmost respect and maybe, just maybe, climb into the bed with one of them and be claimed as a lover.

Usually, beastmen and beastwomen do their damnedest to seduce noblewomen and noblemen, but the Thillion children have different tastes when it comes to beast people.

Renzille let a sigh through her nose, already feeling tired even though the day of her dream barely started.

"What would my little siblings want to eat, hm?" Liera asked, her red eyes glued to the menu she has on her hand, a small smug smirk settled on her lips. "They have a good looking breakfast for their menu today."

"I'll get their special breakfast." Renzille answered, glancing at the oldest sister for a moment before tearing her gaze away. "Partered with their strongest and distasteful coffee."

"Distasteful?"

"Strongest?"

The youngest and the older brother spoke up at the same time, the two of them raising an eyebrow at the strange choice Renzille chose.

"I thought you don't like bitter food, sister?" Bluria asked, her ocean blue eyes narrowing to Renzille's way.

"My preference changed." Renzille simply answered as she tilted her head. "I want my coffee as dark as evil people's souls.. So bitter that it would make one's face grimace from how bad it tastes."

The three Thillion siblings stared at Renzille with blank gazes, questions popping up behind their eyes as they silently wondered what could have possibly happened to Renzille for her to have a sudden change of heart over the things she used to love overnight.

Renzille is particularly known for her sweet tooth, the only Thillion who likes anything sweet.

Most of the children liked anything savory or spicy due to their special cases when it comes to their taste glands— even Celine has a particular taste that she enjoys.

For example, she seems very fond of my ex-husband's and ex-lovers' dicks. Renzille mused, her eyes watching the attendants' every move as they prepared drinks for everyone sitting on the table.

Once the attendants finished pouring the drinks, she daintily picked up the cup carved with lovely designs and took a sip from her coffee.

"Hm, bitter and strong." Renzille commented, glancing at the attendants who served her the coffee. "I like it. It's quite shocking that the servants of this restaurant got it on the first try."

The servants flashed her a smile that screamed caution and gratitude, making her turn away from them and focus on her drink.

They are cautious because Renzille was known for her meek and naive behavior.

They won't get anything if they were to decide to seduce Renzille because she's doomed to become a proper lady with her naivety.

Naive noble children are often frowned upon because they won't contribute to the kingdom's prosperity, but.. There are special beastmen and beastwomen who are into that kind of noble children.

Maybe that's why Cross came to me. Renzille thought, a grimace appearing in her.

She was naive before she was sent to the battlefield, but fortunately, she grew out of it and opened her eyes to the cruel reality of her life.

She found out two truths when she got back.

One, she was silently scorned by her beloved little sister, servants, her husband, and her lovers, and they planned to get her out of the mansion.. One way or another.

Two, she was forsaken.. By her own father.

Once I get back, I'll make sure to give all of them a slap of two.. Especially my father. He won't hurt me, would he? I have his beloved beastwoman's face after all. Renzille mused, her mind filled with hopeful thinking and revenge.

"I'm sorry for being late!" A familiar shrill voice reached Renzille's ears, causing her grimace to worsen.

"It's fine." Leira hummed and gestured to the vacant seat on the table, which was right beside Renzille. "Come and take a seat. The food will be with us shortly."

Celine giggled nervously and rushed to sit beside Renzille, her white dress fluttering under her as she sat upright on her seat. "Do forgive me, really. I was held back with an urgent matter and had to take care of.."

Celine slowly trailed off, her voice shaking and sounded like she was afraid.

This grabbed Renzille's attention so she looked up from her coffee, her eyes landing on Celine's face that looked quite pale with dotted sweat appearing on her skin.

Celine was looking directly at the oldest Thillion's direction, making Renzille steal a glance on Leira.

Once she did so, Renzille couldn't help, but cover her mouth with her cup and bite back a laugh at the look on the oldest daughter's face.

"So there's a matter that was more urgent than our breakfast, Celine?" Leira asked, her red eyes glaring menacingly towards the green haired noblelady who was shaking in her seat.

"No.. No, sister." Celine stammered out, swallowing her anxiety and fear.

Can't she just be honest and say that she was too stunned by what I did that she stood back there like a statue? Renzille wondered as she took a sip from her coffee.
