Chapter 89 - Chapter 83

High school life begins—

But in truth, Lock's daily routine didn't change much.

He woke up naturally, showered, and ate the breakfast Baruch prepared before heading out.

"Good morning, Lock."

"Morning, Kyoka."

The two childhood friends lived close by, so naturally, they walked to school together.

The difference today was their uniforms.

Both now wore the distinct U.A. High School colors.

Kyoka was dressed in the girls' uniform:

A white shirt under a gray blazer, a red first-year tie, and a dark green pleated skirt.

"From today on… I'm officially a student of U.A. High School—the top school in Japan…"

Kyoka lightly slapped her cheeks, muttering to herself, still absentminded in disbelief.

Truthfully, her parents had raised her with strong musical training, and if she hadn't passed the Hero Course exam, she probably would've gone to a music academy.

"Keep spacing out, and you'll be late."

Lock smiled.

He was also curious how his arrival would shift events from the original timeline.

"There's still plenty of time. No way I'll be late."

Kyoka stuck out her tongue playfully.

They walked together, chatting until they reached U.A.'s massive front gate.

Even though Lock had been here before, the sheer scale of U.A. still amazed him.

"For a high school… U.A. is way too big."

They headed through the corridors.

"Class 1-A should be… ah, here."

After searching for a bit, Lock and Kyoka reached their classroom.

"…The door is huge."

It towered above them—U.A.'s wealth was really something.

Lock slid it open.

Several early-arrived students glanced at them.

"Another girl… tch. Small chest."

A short boy with purple balls dotting his head muttered, eyes glued shamelessly to Kyoka's chest.

Minoru Mineta.

The sticky-ball grape kid. Also a massive pervert.

He had no idea how terrifyingly offensive those words were.

Kyoka walked over calmly.

She extended one of her headphone jacks.

Right as Mineta turned his head—

Zzzzzzt!

Golden electricity sparked violently.

Mineta convulsed and collapsed onto his chair, unconscious.

Kyoka snorted and headed to her seat.

"…Kinda scary," Lock muttered.

She'd controlled the voltage, of course—no permanent harm.

But nobody wanted to experience that firsthand.

Assigned seating meant Lock and Kyoka were separated.

As Lock sat down, his gaze drifted around the room.

A red-haired boy with a fierce, hot-blooded aura was staring at him.

"Yo! I'm Kirishima Eijiro!"

Kirishima Eijiro.

Quirk: Hardening.

Extremely fiery, extremely earnest.

"Hey. I'm Lo—"

Lock didn't get to finish.

"WAIT—are you that Lock?! The guy who got a Pro Hero license in middle school?! The 'Wizard' Hero?!"

Lock nodded calmly.

The classroom stirred.

Even without trying, he'd become a minor celebrity.

His Hero Points alone—35,000—were proof of his fame.

Suddenly—

BAM!

The classroom door burst open violently.

A boy with explosive blond hair and a scowling face entered with swaggering, hostile energy.

Bakugo Katsuki.

He spotted Lock—and froze mid-step.

His expression twisted.

"Tch… so you're here too. Remember this—I'm gonna crush you someday."

A provocation… though his voice lacked conviction.

He stomped to his seat, threw his bag down, and kicked his feet up on the desk.

"Is he your friend?" Kirishima whispered.

"Yeah. A friend who provides me with… entertainment."

The sinister smile Lock gave made Kirishima shiver and retreat to his seat.

Lock's left-side neighbor sat quietly watching him.

A girl with frog-like features.

"My name is Asui Tsuyu, Lock-chan."

"Then… can I call you Tsuyu-chan?"

"Mm."

She blinked, mildly surprised.

She'd been ready to explain her naming habit, but Lock already understood.

She always used "-chan" or similar to build closeness.

Her dark green hair, her frog-like mannerisms—

Quirk: Frog.

She resembled one both outside and inside, down to a long, sticky tongue.

…Lock briefly had an inappropriate thought.

No. Stop.

He cleared his mind.

More students arrived:

—Tokoyami Fumikage, with a bird's head

—Ojiro Mashirao

—Sero Hanta

—Shoji Mezo

—Kaminari Denki

—Aoyama Yuga

—Sato Rikido

—Koda Koji

All the familiar faces of Class 1-A.

Soon, a bubbly pink-haired girl and Yaoyorozu Momo entered.

Momo sat to Lock's right; they exchanged polite greetings.

The pink-haired girl plopped down in front of him, immediately turning around.

She grabbed both his hands.

"You remember me, right? I'm Ashido Mina! You saved us from the Iron Shark that day!"

Lock cleared his throat softly.

"Of course."

"I've wanted to thank you properly forever!"

She kept holding his hands—

while a murderous chill filled the room.

Kyoka was smiling at Lock from across the room.

A very dangerous smile.

Finally, Ashido released him.

Lock exhaled in relief—only to see a floating uniform walk in.

Hagakure Toru.

Invisible Girl.

Then—

Shoto Todoroki.

His heterochromatic gaze flicked briefly toward Lock before he silently sat near the window.

Cold, distant, wrapped in solitude.

Next came a boy who looked like a walking student council member.

He immediately confronted Bakugo.

"Putting your feet on the desk—don't you think that's disrespectful to U.A.'s predecessors and to the desk makers?!"

Glasses. Neat hair.

Yes—Tenya Iida.

"Tch? I don't think so. What middle school are you from, supporting character?!"

"I come from the prestigious Soumei Private Middle School—"

The argument continued.

Lock ignored it.

His attention shifted to the doorway as the last two students arrived:

A petite girl with a round, soft face—

Uraraka Ochaco.

And beside her, the familiar head of messy green curls—

Midoriya Izuku, inheritor of One For All.

He'd made it.

Just like the original storyline.

With all twenty students now present, Lock smiled faintly.

Class 1-A of U.A. High School was assembled.

And from today onward—

His high school life would be very interesting.
