Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: The Birth of Madness

The wind in the silver forest blew like the whispers of spirits.

Ari walked between the dimly glowing trees, each step making the ground tremble slightly, as if the place were breathing.

There was no sun, no night. Only an eternal pale light that enveloped everything.

He didn't know how long he had walked. Time didn't exist here.

But something was watching. Always watching.

On the seventh night since he had woken, Ari heard footsteps behind him.

Slow. Cold. Not human.

From within the white mist, a creature emerged—twice as tall as a man, its face eyeless, only a mouth that stretched to its ears.

On its chest... was a human, its organs hanging like trophies.

Ari instinctively backed away.

But his body didn't tremble. Maybe because he knew, he couldn't die. He was just scared, his courage had long since been lost, sometimes Ari felt like a pawn who couldn't fight back.

The creature roared, rushing forward.

Its teeth dug into his shoulder, tearing a piece of flesh, red blood gushed out, he screamed in pain, helpless.

The pain was excruciating, but no blood flowed out - only green light sprayed out, sparkling like stardust.

Ari was in pain and fear

A crooked, tired smile. He was just an ordinary person.

"Life is too cruel, a person without anyone by his side, from birth did not want to think about death, now he can't... die."

His eyes gradually turned red, blood gushed out, everything looked blurry, he picked up a sharp branch and stabbed it in the eye.

It roared in pain, its hands scratched my body, its internal organs flew out and then lit up again. The pain made me tremble and fall to the ground. Bang! The monster lunged at me, gnawing at my arm and chewing. I was completely helpless, the betrayal made me hate like never before... Holding back again, I threw it at it and then... I was cut in half. The pain made my eyes widen and I had no strength to resist but it healed, a pool of blood flowing everywhere, the light of recovery, I passed out.

---

When he woke up, he found himself in the middle of the forest and nothing remained.

No smell of blood, no decomposition.

Only the fading light.

Looking at the hand that was glowing faintly.

he understood: every time he killed, his soul was "updated". Ari began to have unreal memories.

Not to become stronger, but to complete something deeper — maybe it was the system that pulled him here.

Ari came to a house, his innocent eyes, he entered. An old man was cooking soup. He walked in, saw the old man looking so innocent. He looked to the right corner of the table and saw a new sharp object, he took it and slowly cried.

"Your son is so lucky, I will help you...?"

Closer... closer, the old man turned his head to look at him... before he could say anything. The sharp object had pierced the old man's head. Ari's laughter rang out, he cried because he had finished, because of his disgust.

"I don't see you as a bad person, but I just want to complete my mission excellently

, I can't live without you."

The old man's horror gradually spread and he lay down on the cold, bloody floor. He looked at the old man and slowly cried out

"THANK YOU!"
