Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: March 7th: I’m Treating You to Coffee

Since the group owner, Kiana, didn't show up, no matter how many times Elysia @mentioned her, it was no use.

In the end, she could only introduce things to the newcomer herself, what exactly this group was.

[Miss Pink Fairy: Simply put, this group connects countless worlds and randomly pulls people in from them.]

[Miss Pink Fairy: As for who created it… I don't know either.]

Even the group owner herself doesn't know.

[Miss Pink Fairy: Oh, right! If you, or anyone in the group, ever encounter something you can't solve, you can ask for help here. The group will compile your request into a "mission" and post it, so the rest of us can go to your world and help you out!]

Elysia rubbed her slightly sore fingers. Not long ago, she had just finished fooling around with Lumine, and now she had typed up such a long explanation in one go.

"Whew~ Explaining things to newcomers really is hard work." She sighed as she spoke.

This was basically volunteer labor, the chat group wouldn't give you any reward for explaining the rules to newbies.

After feeling the soreness in her fingers ease a bit, Elysia picked up the cup of water on her desk and took a sip.

[Miss Pink Fairy, If there's anything you don't understand, you can @Miss Pink Fairy anytime~ I'll answer your questions anytime, anywhere~]

[Yang Does Sit-Ups: Thanks.]

———

The lurking Stelle suddenly snapped her head up. 'And you still say you're not Mr. Yang.'

Coincidentally, just then, the real Welt by the window set his phone down, walked over to the chair, sat down, and closed his eyes for a nap.

After some internal debate, he decided to observe for a while longer.

If Stelle's "symptoms" didn't improve, he would ask Pom-Pom to take them back to Herta Space Station, or to some other planet with better medical facilities, for a proper checkup.

Even if she was just a newly joined Nameless, there was no such thing as joining too early or too late. Once you were part of the trailblazing journey, you were family.

Meanwhile, in a place Welt couldn't see, behind a flowerpot, peering carefully through the gaps between leaves, Stelle's eyes were serious as she observed him.

When Mr. Yang put down his phone to rest, the "Yang Does Sit-Ups" in the group also stopped sending messages.

The timing of both disappearances was nearly identical.

There was no need to explain what that meant anymore.

The only thing she couldn't figure out was, why was Mr. Yang pretending not to know her?

No, pretending not to know March 7th?

If it was to save her, no, March 7th's, face, then why wasn't there any reaction even after he went offline?

Stelle couldn't make sense of it.

"Ah, so you were hiding here! Took me forever to find you!"

March 7th suddenly popped her head out from the other side.

The sudden movement startled Stelle, who had been deep in thought, her body instinctively shrank back.

When she realized it was just March 7th, she let out a quiet breath of relief, stepped out from behind the flowerpot, and casually reinserted the flower she'd been holding back into the soil.

"What is it?"

March 7th's face lit up with a bright smile as she held out the cup in her hands.

Stelle took the cup. Steam rose from the unknown liquid inside, and she sniffed it lightly.

The name surfaced naturally in her mind.

"Coffee?"

"It's Himeko's coffee! I thought since you've never tried it, I'd bring you a cup so you can have a taste. Come on, drink it quick, it won't taste good once it's cold."

Though honestly, it didn't taste good even when it was hot.

March 7th stuck out her tongue slightly in her mind.

Seeing March 7th's strange smile, Stelle's hand froze halfway to her lips.

For some reason, she felt a faint sense of danger.

She glanced at March 7th, who was still smiling and urging her to drink, then at Mr. Yang resting peacefully nearby.

The whole scene looked perfectly harmonious. Stelle scratched the back of her head, thinking she was probably just overthinking it.

"She really… drank it."

Normally silent unless necessary, Dan Heng couldn't help but comment.

March 7th raised her eyebrows when she saw Stelle drink the coffee without changing expression. "How is it? How does it taste?"

Stelle smacked her lips. "It's a bit..."

Before she could finish the word, her vision went dark, and she collapsed right into March 7th's arms. The coffee cup rolled across the floor a few times before stopping at Himeko's feet.

Picking up the cup, wiping it clean, and placing it back on the table, Himeko sighed as she looked at the unconscious Stelle.

When had her coffee turned into one of March 7th's prank props?

———

Morning in the Luofu. The artificial sun rose into the sky.

For the first time, Levi felt truly relaxed.

After leaving the chat group, he stood by the window and looked out at the distant sunrise. Even though it was man-made, the light still felt warm on his skin.

The purple patterns on his arm seemed a little fainter at that moment.

He had thought that contracting Honkai disease meant he only had a few days left to live. He hadn't expected that coming to the Luofu on a whim would actually grant him not one, but two golden fingers.

And the second golden finger turned out to be a chat group connecting to other worlds.

Inside it were two people from the Honkai world, one was the group owner, Kiana, the protagonist of the Honkai world.

The other was Elysia, who also counted as one of its protagonists.

With these two around, why would he have to worry about not finding a cure for Honkai disease.

"As long as I can figure out what time period they're from…"

No, he didn't even need to do that. He could use his "Old Grandpa" system to help them overcome their difficulties, and then gain powers from them in return.

Honkai resistance. For protagonists of the Honkai world, that was practically the most underwhelming ability.

'It shouldn't be too hard to get, right?'

Unless his luck was worse than an African server player's.

Levi pulled out a mirror and looked at his reflection, a handsome young man.

His skin was a little pale, the aftereffect of illness.

Knock! Knock! Knock!

An ill-timed knocking came from the door. Putting the mirror away, Levi frowned slightly.

He didn't know many people in the Luofu. Very few would come looking for him, especially early in the morning.

He walked to the door and opened it, revealing a small, thin figure carrying a medical kit.

"Took you long enough to open the door. My hand's sore from knocking."

Seeing who it was, Levi immediately understood.

Bailu, the current High Elder of Vidyadhara in the Xianzhou Luofu.

She was the first person to treat him when he came to the Luofu. In the end, when every method failed, he started being stubborn about it.

She had been coming almost every day since then, checking up on him and trying out new medicine formulations.

Unfortunately, more than half a month had passed, and aside from the rate of Honkai erosion slowing slightly, there were no signs of recovery at all.

Still, that alone was enough to surprise Levi.

Entering the room, Bailu rolled up his sleeve, revealing the patterns of Honkai corrosion on his arm.

Seeing that the symptoms hadn't changed at all, her brows furrowed. She murmured softly, "We've already tried so many methods… why is there still no effect at all…"

As a doctor, Bailu had cured countless difficult and complicated cases.

Most of the time, the illnesses that people brought to her were considered "incurable" only because their civilizations weren't advanced enough.

Here in the highly developed Luofu, such illnesses were easily treated and healed.

But Levi's condition was different.

Even after going over nearly all of Luofu's medical texts and trying countless new medicines, Bailu still couldn't cure his illness.

At best, she could only ease the symptoms a little.

Thinking this, Bailu pulled a few bottles from her medical kit. "These are the ones that can relieve your… what's it called again?"

"Honkai disease."

"Right, these ones help relieve your Honkai disease. Keep taking them at the same dosage as before, and come find me when you run out."

After saying that, she placed the bottles on the table, then dashed out of Levi's home to head back to the Alchemy Commission to continue developing new medicine.
