After six years....
The empire fell silent yet peaceful, but tonight, everything changed.
"Hurry, Lucas! We need to run faster or else they'll catch up to us''
I was running from the people who had abducted Lucas and me, so that they could sell us because of our golden hair which is very rare. My clothes were all ragged and my body was bruised. They had already made me go through a terrifying situation. I can't possibly let them do the same with my younger brother. Our cabin was just a bit further ahead.
"Lucas, listen to me! Hide in this cabin for a while. I'll draw their attention and make them come after me, take the opportunity and run to Catherine and ask for help''.
''Big sister Celine, what about you? What if something happens to you? You're the only family I have".
''Lucas listen, you know your sister is super strong. Don't worry I'll be fine until you go and ask catherine for help, got it!'' I looked at him fiercely.
I went outside, took out the dagger I had hidden and cut open a small wound on my wrist leaving behind blood drops. ''Good, now they'll follow me". I ran once I heard them approaching. ''There they are catch them this instant''.
I ran and ran, and they followed me from behind. I kept repeating the same words again and again. ''Dear God, let my brother make it there safely please. This is my last wish please let him make it there safely''. I kept saying it and kept running as fast as I could. I lost my breath, and my legs gave in. I had no idea where I was running but I was a hundred percent sure that they lost track of me. I got up, my knees were shivering and just when I was about to take another step, the land crumbled and I fell down. I regained my consciousness after several minutes. I got up and luckily, I fell into a lake. I didn't know if I should've been happy or not.
''Curse my frickin luck, what did I do to deserve this. '' Mother and Father, I hate you both so much'', I said with a breaking voice. Lucas must've reached their, I guess help is on its way. But a thought when through my head. ''Isn't it taking too much time''. Until I heard something.
'' Aaaaaaaghh''
I screamed, '' That voice, it's Lucas. Did something happen to him''. I got up and ran towards the cabin, but on the way, I never expected to encounter someone whom I never invited over.
'' L....Lucas, Aaagh! Ouch! That hurts''. I fell, not seeing there was a tree trunk in the way. I lifted my head to get up, but instead of seeing the sky, I saw an unknown figure. Just as I looked at it, I got my guard up and stood back on my legs taking out the dagger that I had.
For a moment I froze trying to recognize who the hell this person was. He was tall and had a good manly figure, long sleek black hair, pale skin, eyes like frozen crimson locked on mine as if they were telling a different story. He wore a black coat, lined with golden embroidery and carried a sword with a red ruby embedded at the center.The gem caught my eye, and I found myself staring at it, for a mere second I forgot everything. His presence alone was enough to give me goosebumps. I never thought I'd be meeting him here, the Crown Prince of Standford, Allen. I have to say I was swayed away by his beauty.
I slapped my face and said,'' I need to get to Lucas,'' I turned my face into the direction of the cabin and began to run in that direction until.... I heard a cold yet alluring voice.
'' Hey....''
I froze. Then I started to walk again
''Are you deaf,'' he said.
''Huhh'' are you by any chance referring to me?'' I asked
''Can't you hear me, of course I am referring to you'' he said
Deaf my ass, you annoying asshole, I thought. I kept staring.
''I see, you can't speak either''
He was getting on my nerves, and I had to go to Lucas as well, I finally replied.
''Y...yess, do you need something for me''. I spoke.
''No,'' he said bluntly.
''T-then I'll be leaving,'' I said quietly.
''Stop, another step and you'll be dead meat. Now tell me why are you in such a horrible state'' he said.
''Well, it doesn't concern you sir, now please if you'll excuse me, I need to rush somewhere''. I began to run towards the cabin and then again, a voice came from behind.
''I told you, move one more step and you'll die'' he said, ''Tell me your situation I am willing to help''.
''Huhh! help, my how kind of you but I have to politely decline as I have nothing to offer you in return''. I also replied bluntly
''Offer in return, I never asked you for anything in return''. He spoke.
''Everything comes with a price''. I replied
''Oh my, it seems that I have underestimated you, your pretty fast to catch on". He spoke.
''Hmph, now I'll be going now please do not come in my way as I have declined your help, thank you for the offer''. And then I ran as fast as I could, my heart worrying, ''I hope Lucas is safe''.
''Hahaha..... what an interesting young lady, though I am still curious why was she covered in all these bruises. Her golden hair was rather strange, more than strange I've never seen such hair. Cedric [1]let's continue our hunting, I am pretty sure we'll find a wonderful and tasty prey''.
