Chapter 24 - The Time-Turner

"Harry" woke up in the hospital wing.

"What do you mean, Scabbers is a person?!" The first thing he heard were Ron Weasley's indignant cries.

"It was Peter Pettigrew," Harry immediately rushed to confirm his friend's words. "I saw the rat turn into a man myself."

Barry nodded, and Ron, full of indignation, put his hands on his head.

"It was Percy the rat to begin with," the boy said. "He's been with our family for thirteen years."

"You know, that's a long time for a rat," Harry shrugged.

 "Well...

Harry got up from his bed and immediately moved over to his friend. Barry's leg was already bandaged, and all he had to do was lie down and relax on the bed. At that moment, Hermione approached, and a few seconds later, Dumbledore entered. Harry and his friend immediately ran up to him.

"Professor! Sirius is innocent! Help him!" the children cried in unison.

"Well, unfortunately, the words of two teenagers won't change anything," replied the headmaster sadly. "But, Miss Granger, you know what needs to be done. If you hurry, you can save several innocent lives."

Then the headmaster approached Ron and Barry, asked about the latter's health, and left the hospital wing.

"What?" Harry shook his head in confusion. "What did he mean?"

Hermione stood there, lost in thought, then, realising what he meant, she took a small medallion hidden under her jacket, walked over to Harry and placed it around both their necks.

"It's a time-turner," the girl explained. "McGonagall gave it to me so that I could attend all my classes.

The girl turned the locket several times, and the children saw everything around them running backwards in fast motion. They had travelled back in time, and now the hospital wing was brightly lit.

"What time is it?" asked Harry.

"Half past eight," Hermione glanced at her watch. "Then we're..."

"Let's go to Hagrid!" the boy finished for her.

They immediately moved towards the hut, where they saw themselves, but much earlier, approaching Malfoy to settle their differences. The kids had to act inconspicuously...

 "Buckbeak!" Harry slapped his forehead.

Hermione immediately understood what was going on, and the kids immediately headed for Hagrid's house. The hippogriff was there, and Dumbledore and Fudge were also on their way. The children quickly lured Buckbeak away and took him with them. From a distance, they heard the sound of metal cutting — apparently, the executioner had decided to cut up the pumpkins.

They moved far into the forest and sat down on some rocks. It was already getting dark, and the moon was just beginning to rise. They had to wait. "Harry" looked at Hermione: his friend had begun to feed Buckbeak the remains of the stolen dead squirrels, which were only needed to feed the hippogriff.

He lay down on a rock and looked up at the sky. Barry remembered how he had travelled back in time several times and what the consequences had been. He would never forget his biggest mistake — Flashpoint. When Flash had gone so mad that he had travelled back in time and saved his mother. Everything was wonderful, but changes in the past also change the future, so he had to put everything back in its place, but nevertheless, this brought new consequences: the death of Cisco's brother, the rise of Caitlin Killer Frost, Diggle and Lila having a son instead of a daughter, the appearance of Savitar... Now Barry understood how wrong he had been to give in to his emotions and change the fates of so many of his friends and acquaintances. And how many unknown fates had he changed?

While he was thinking about the past, the moon had risen in the present, and it was time to move on. There was a scream and the howling of dogs. "Harry" and Hermione immediately ran towards the sound and came out on the opposite shore of the lake, where he was on the other side, but now defending himself from the Dementors. "Oh, God..." Harry groaned.

He ran forward, this time focusing more on happy memories. Whatever the case, his happiest memories were connected with Flashpoint, when Barry saw both his parents alive. Focusing on this, he cried out:

 "Expecto Patronum!

A stag appeared, bursting into a huge light that drove the Dementors away.

He saw his younger self fall unconscious, then ran on with Hermione. The kids climbed onto the Pegasus and flew to the astronomy tower to rescue Sirius, because if people found them, they would immediately try to lock Black up and execute him.

Once they had flown there and landed, Hermione immediately rushed to open the door. After that, the three of them flew over Hogwarts and stopped near the hospital wing in a small courtyard. Sirius thanked them, saying to Hermione:

"You'll make a talented witch!" Then he turned to Harry, sitting down next to him. "You really do look like your father, but your eyes... your eyes..."

 "They're Mum's," the boy smiled.

They hugged, and then Sirius turned into a dog and ran away. The children returned to the hospital wing, where they were met by the puzzled looks of Barry and Ron.

"What?" Ron asked in surprise. "You were just here, and now..."

"Ron," Harry grinned. "How can we be in two places at once?"

Hermione laughed, while Barry and Ron continued to stare in confusion.
