She was outside of her school, walking home alone when she heard someone call out her name, "Rei!"
It was Kira, she was running towards rei with a huge smile on her face.
"I'm planning a sleepover this weekend! And you know it'll be incomplete without you." She said with immense amount of enthusiasm.
Rei stood there, thinking what to say. "And what are we gonna do? Dumb things?" She joked.
"I mean.. doing dumb things is fun, isn't it?" Kira laughed.
"Oh right- I sill think about your so called food experiment where we made random things out of random things. And I remember I could not attend school the next day because of whatever we made."
She said as she was reminded of how terrifying their last sleep over 3 years back was.
Rei and Kira were childhood friends, they met each other in a dance class when they were 6, being same age, in the same school and later discovering that they lived nearby was more than co-incidental so it didn't take them long to bond with each other.
"I mean we were too young and dumb back then, we're grown ups now.. and plus Akio will be there too, to take care of us." Kira reassured.
Rei felt stiff as son as Asahi's name came out of her mouth.
"That's-" Rei was cut off by another voice.
"Yeah, I will try my best to make sure you don't set the kitchen on fire." It was Akio.
Rei glared at him as he walked up to her and Kira, teasing her fir a small mistake she did years back.
"At least I do not brag about being able to climb up a tree like SOMEONE who doesn't even know how to get down." Rei mocked him back.
Kira chucked as she remembered all the dumb things they all did together as kids.
"see, I told you Akio would be there to make sure we don't get into any trouble." She nodded her head proudly.
"He himself is trouble." Rei murmured and Kira laughed while Akio glared at her.
But to be clear, knowing that Akio would be there just made rei hesitate even more.
"I know you guys were being uncomfortably shipped with each other but you guys cleared everything up right? So it's all fine!." Kira said which made Akio sigh and nod quietly at the side.
Akio is Kira's fraternal twin, which means same birthday, same parents, just different face and gender.
Rei, Kira and Akio were really good friends since the age of 6. As they continued to grow up, Rei and Asahi started to et shipped by many, starting from their parents to other students at school.
Though it might not seem like a big issue, it started making them uncomfortable and eventually they got farther from each other to the point they they didn't even bother to wave or greet when they ran into each other on the streets or at school.
"Come on Rei! If you don't join us, I'll call off the sleepover, you know it won't be as fun without you!" Kira pleased.
"yeah, and we'll graduate soon.. After that, who knows where we'll be. Just take it as out farewell." Akio said with a faint smile.
Knowing how much Kira wanted this sleepover and hoping that she would get a chance to spend some more time with Akio, Rei agreed, "Alight then! I'll come!"
