Chapter 5 - Chapter 4: The Pervy Toad

"You yellow-haired bastard! You dare hurt my brother? I won't let you go!" It's no wonder the world of Naruto is full of brother complexes, especially the Uchiha clan, which specializes in producing them.

Uchiha Mahui was fine, but on the side, Uchiha Qinghui was furious. His eyes snapped open, a one-tomoe Sharingan spinning within.

Then, holding a kunai, he rushed towards Minato. "With these eyes, none of your movements can escape me."

"Konoha Great Whirlwind."

"Thud!"

"Aargh!"

The comeback was swift. Just as Uchiha Qinghui finished his boast, Minato's Konoha Great Whirlwind kicked him in the face, sending him flying. A true face-slap.

"So what if you can see my movements? Seeing them doesn't mean you can keep up. With your pathetically slow reaction time, how could you possibly match my speed?"

Minato stood in the distance, looking disdainfully at the fallen Uchiha Qinghui. A Chunin, but among Chunin, his strength was probably the worst.

He likely only reached Chunin because he had awakened the Sharingan. His other skills hadn't reached the Chunin level at all; they were more on par with an elite Genin.

At this moment, Uchiha Qinghui couldn't refute him. Minato's kick had not been light, and taking it to the face had given him a concussion. He still hadn't recovered his senses.

"Ding! Defeated one Chunin. Random reward: Fire Release development +3%."

Oh? A full 3% development? That's worth more than a month of training. Not bad, not bad. As expected of a Chunin. It would be great if there were a few more like him.

"Let's go!" Minato said to Kushina, then led the way.

Kushina glanced at the fallen Uchiha Qinghui and the dumbfounded Uchiha Mahui standing to the side, then hurried after Minato Namikaze.

"Thank you," Kushina said after a moment's hesitation, looking at Minato's back.

"You're welcome. It was nothing," Minato replied cheerfully, his hands behind his back.

"Then why didn't you help me back in the classroom?" Kushina asked, her cheeks puffed out, accusing him of just watching from the sidelines.

"I was about to step in, but you acted first. Seeing you handle it so easily, I didn't interfere. But this time was different. You couldn't have handled that Uchiha Chunin." Minato knew what she was hung up on, so he explained in detail.

"Oh!" Hearing that Minato hadn't just been watching for fun, Kushina smiled happily. This guy really isn't so bad. Hmm, maybe we can be friends.

"Where do you live? I'll walk you home," Minato asked.

Kushina didn't speak; she just walked ahead of Minato, leading the way.

The two walked quietly along the road, neither saying a word, each lost in their own thoughts. But at this moment, silence spoke louder than words.

"I'm here!" After nearly half an hour, they arrived at a large residential area. This was the Senju clan compound, but the Senju clan had dwindled, and most of the houses were now empty.

"Okay, see you at the academy tomorrow." Minato looked at the surrounding buildings. No wonder in the original story, Kushina was kidnapped by Cloud ninja after she graduated. The undefended Senju compound was far too easy to get in and out of.

But right now, both he and Kushina were only 9 years old. Kushina wouldn't graduate until she was 12, and when she was captured, she was wearing a forehead protector. That meant the event was at least three years away. With that much time, he could become strong enough to protect Kushina.

It was about time to start planning his signature technique—the Flying Thunder God Technique.

He didn't know what kind of changes would occur with the development of space-time ninjutsu, but Minato was very much looking forward to it.

Upon returning home, he was surprised to find Jiraiya there. The house he lived in now belonged to Jiraiya. As an orphan, he had moved in after being taken in as Jiraiya's disciple.

"Pervy Toad, you're back. Did the war go well?" Minato didn't feel there was anything wrong with the address. After all, in the original story, Naruto always called him Pervy Sage.

"Damn it! I've told you, I am the Toad Sage, not the Pervy Toad! This unfilial disciple is going to be the death of me!" Jiraiya was satisfied with his disciple in every way, except for the headache this particular form of address gave him.

"Relax, relax. It's all the same, no difference. You're a toad anyway, and aren't you pervy?" Minato tilted his head and glanced at Jiraiya.

Jiraiya was instantly embarrassed and scratched his head. We're all men, isn't it normal to be a little pervy? Look at how pervy the old man is, too.

"You brat, you always have a point. I can't argue with you. I don't know how you come up with so much twisted logic at such a young age."

Jiraiya was helplessly defeated.
