Chapter 1 - Chapter I – Typical Stupid Isekai Death

May was unable to contain her smile as she observed the celebration. Everyone here, come there tonight to celebrate her great success.

After all these years at the university, where she always stood at the top, being one of the best students, she finally ended her education and secured a nice and very well-paid job at one of the best biotechnology companies in the entire world. Finally, she won't have to rely on her parents. She has successfully achieved what she has always dreamed of.

She has always had a broad interest in science. She has been fascinated by the cosmos since childhood. However, her true fascination was not revealed to her until later. At one point, science became all she had. She had to be the best. It was what defined her.

"Hey, come on. Don't just stand there. It's your party after all."

"Yeah, yeah. I am coming." She said as she started drinking her vodka shots. Vodka is the best! It immediately gives results, and the fiery aftertaste immediately improves the mood.

She spoke to her new co-workers. Of course, she also had to drink with them. They came especially for her, and from now on she will see them every day.

Then her uncle started calling her. He handed her a lovely pink cocktail. It was too charming to refuse. Normally, she didn't drink that much, but such an opportunity won't happen again too soon.

Besides, she sometimes used to drink much more in college. A little more won't hurt her. Her head began to spin.

Again, some time has passed. The party was in full swing.

"Hey May! Come here!" They were her siblings. "You still have not drank anything with us today." They gave her a Coke with some alcohol.

"I think I should slow down a bit." She said in a clearly drowsy voice.

"You won't have a drink with us?" Her sister hugged her around the waist and then kissed her neck. Ah, she was visibly intoxicated, as well.

"Well, when it comes to you guys, I guess I have to." She said.

"Yeees! You don't even realize how much I love you," she said, squeezing her even harder. Before she knew it she had a glass in her hand.

It continued for the whole night. Drink after drink. All she thought about was what a terrible hangover she would have the next day.

On the positive side, she never had a hangover.

Of the minuses - she didn't have a hangover because she was dead.

At some point, she fell asleep. The guests ignored her - she simply drank too much. The party continued at its best. After about 4 a.m., the last of the guests had left, and her parents began to tidy up. They didn't notice anything strange, and she was carried to bed in arms of her father. After a few hours, they found her lying in that same bed lifeless.

"Almost there! A little more Lady Shang!"

What's going on? She couldn't remember how she got into this situation. The only thing she recalled was the party. And now she was hearing some strange voices in an unknown language. She felt strange. As if it wasn't in her own body. She felt weak and vulnerable, yet surprisingly at ease.

"It's almost over!" She heard an elderly woman shout. After a moment, she understood her situation. This was her birth. Reincarnation? Had she died? She comprehended the situation surprisingly quickly, as she was a fan of isekais and similar plots... Well it helped her get through the hard times in college.

"It's a girl!"

"Wait a minute why isn't she crying? Is something wrong?" Oh, right. Although she didn't understand the language she was able to figure out what it was about. She began to cry. It was surprisingly simple.

"Well it may not be a boy, but next time I'm sure it will happen."

"Congratulations again! How lovely and charming she is."

There was a lot of chaos, but soon everything calmed down and her new life began.

After some time and thinking, she came to the conclusion that she died of alcohol poisoning. She started calculating how much she drank. It was the only logical explanation.

Of course, there were still a few less reasonable explanations: like homicide, being poisoned, or some unexplained disease. However, the simplest explanation was alcohol. Intuition also indicated that she was not wrong.

However, it is still a bit embarrassing.... She thought about it and became sad. Everything had just started to fall into place. Everyone was just congratulating her. She had a loving family, a dream job, friends.

And now she has found herself in this strange and unfamiliar world. She did not know the language and was all alone. Well not completely alone as from now on she had a new family.
