At this moment, the Dark Void fell completely silent.
Dao Lord Du Xuan of the Dao of Spiritual Power, although arguably the weakest among the Dao Lords present, was still, after all, a revered Dao Lord who had forged an immortal Primordial Spirit.
Who could kill him?
Even if Sword Lord destroyed his physical body and dismantled his wonders, it was almost impossible to kill him, because his Great Dao was one of the foundations of the Light Sea!
To kill him, one would either need stature suppression or, with overwhelming strength, spend a vast amount of time slowly wearing down the Dao of Spiritual Power.
They would have to first sever the area where his Primordial Spirit resided, stripping him from the Dao of Spiritual Power, and then completely shatter him. This could easily take thousands of years.
This was the privilege of a Dao Lord.
A Dao Heart tempered over a long time, finally reaching the summit, how could it be so easily killed? If [Paramita] was still around, the possibility of killing them would be even more nonexistent.
Yet, Sisui achieved it.
Not only did he achieve it, but he even used a third method that no one had thought of—forcefully reversing it, causing Du Xuan's Primordial Spirit cultivation to regress.
The pure wonders of [Dao Heart]!
"The concept back then... to correspond with the Dharma body, unified by [Yin-Yang], a Void Attainment Great Dao targeting the Dao Heart's consciousness—you actually succeeded."
The tone of the Dao Lord of Dao Arts, Myriad Laws, was incredibly complex.
On the other side, Sword Lord's face was equally gloomy.
Why did the Dao Lords ban Primordial Spirit cultivation methods? Why did Sword Lord kill Great Sword Ancestor? This was the answer—Great Daos related to the Dao Heart!
For Dao Lords who had attained the Primordial Spirit, who would want a sharp sword hanging over their heads capable of decapitating them? Who would want to see an existence emerge that could interfere with their Primordial Spirits and truly threaten them? But no matter what, at this moment, Sisui had become that person.
In his hand, he held that sword.
A divine sword capable of striking Dao Lords down to the mortal dust, making them unable to remain aloof!
"..."
Sisui looked around. He saw the jealousy in Sword Lord's eyes, the apprehension on the faces of Myriad Laws and Cang Hao, and the vigilance of the World Honored One and Xiu Zhen.
He also saw the Primordial Saint.
That unreachable figure, as distant as the horizon, seemed to smile at him at this moment. A distinct, ethereal Dao resonance descended from the sky, heard only by him:
"I told you long ago, Fellow Daoist, you don't understand human nature."
"That's why you lost a move to me during our Dao discussion back then... Who would have thought that after so many years, Fellow Daoist still hasn't changed your mindset and insists on acting willfully."
Hearing this, Sisui lowered his eyes and did not respond.
The Heaven, Earth, and Man Dao Struggle, the battle for the [Heavenly Scripture].
In the final struggle of [Man], the two each held a Dao, pushing time forward and evolving the future to judge whose future could better win the Heavenly Scripture's approval.
In the end, he lost.
He lost so quickly, in fact, that he was surrounded and killed by all the Dao Lords right after attaining [Dao Heart], before he could even construct his ideal future.
When a person dies, everything comes to nothing.
As a result, he inexplicably lost that struggle of [Man]. He even earned the assessment of not understanding human nature, sitting by and watching the Primordial Saint swagger away.
And now, the future scene that previously only existed in deduction truly appeared in reality. Sisui felt an indescribable malice filling his surroundings, some shallow, some deep, but undeniably real. Indeed, who wouldn't be afraid? After all, this was a sharp sword capable of slaying Dao Lords.
"Congratulations, Senior!"
A familiar voice drifted over from afar. Sisui turned sideways, somewhat surprised, to see Lu Yang approaching with an excited face, his eyes brimming with joy.
Completely devoid of fear or apprehension.
—Why?
In all fairness, Sisui could actually understand the other Dao Lords. Even if it were himself, he wouldn't have full confidence in stabilizing his own state of mind.
The reason he could face the existence of [Dao Heart] with composure at this moment was simply because this Great Dao—which targeted the Primordial Spirit and could put Dao Lords to death—was under his control. If one day he lost this Great Dao, would he also feel apprehensive toward it like the other Dao Lords?
He couldn't guarantee it.
"...Aren't you worried, Fellow Daoist?" Thinking of this, Sisui spoke subconsciously. "With just a single thought from me, Fellow Daoist's Primordial Spirit would turn to nothingness."
Worried?
Lu Yang almost laughed out loud. Are you looking down on the [The Book of a Hundred Lifetimes]? Do you want to see whose speed is faster—you wiping out my Primordial Spirit, or me restarting?
But his mind was sharp. He understood Sisui's feelings in an instant. Therefore, his face quickly adopted a solemn expression. He then pointed to his chest. "My heart is bright, my conduct and behavior are aboveboard. That being the case, what is there to worry about?"
In an instant, Sisui heard laughter.
The laughter came from [Paramita], from the Primordial Saint, mixed with praise and emotion. "See, Fellow Daoist Sisui? This one is the true genius who understands human nature."
"..."
Looking at Lu Yang, Sisui's gaze slightly stagnated, seemingly falling into a brief struggle. But in the end, he let out a long sigh and revealed a smile.
"Indeed... Fellow Daoist did better than me."
He said softly,
"I am but a solitary individual, while Fellow Daoist is the one who truly integrated the Light Sea. That being the case, it might be better for this Dao to remain in Fellow Daoist's hands than mine."
Having said that, without any hesitation, he placed the [Dao Heart] into Lu Yang's hands.
In addition, two more Great Daos surfaced on his body—one was [Dharma Body], the other was [Yin-Yang], flowing with endless, vast mighty power.
However, he showed no reluctance at all. Surprisingly, he unraveled the two Great Daos, turning them into two streams of light that returned to the Light Sea. Before anyone could even react, Sisui had shed all his Great Dao wonders. Standing all alone, it seemed he had fallen from a supreme Dao Sovereign to an ordinary person.
Lu Yang was stunned.
But he quickly reacted. A mortal couldn't survive in the Dark Void. Sisui hadn't fallen in realm; he had entered a higher level!
Lu Yang couldn't comprehend that level.
Not only him, but Sword Lord, Cang Hao, the World Honored One, Myriad Laws, Xiu Zhen... Except for the Primordial Saint, no one understood what Sisui had done.
But they could see the result.
They saw Sisui, having discarded all his wonders, looking relaxed. He lightly took a step forward, and his figure became illusory in that instant.
He was climbing higher.
Not relying on [Paramita], not depending on Great Daos, relying entirely on himself. There was only the transcendent [Self], unconstrained by the Dao and unsubdued by the dharma.
Rumble!
For Sisui, this step felt like passing through a curtain. Although the vast Dark Void was still before his eyes, he saw an entirely new scenery.
And in front of him was a young man who could only be described as an "immortal," with a celestial appearance and the honored title of Primordial. He just looked at Sisui with a smile on his lips, showing no malice toward a great enemy. Instead, he cupped his hands and bowed to him. "Congratulations, Fellow Daoist, for finally attaining liberation."
"From now on, you walk the Great Dao alone."
"I told you long ago, Fellow Daoist, you and I are people on the same path."
Only he could clearly understand what Sisui had done.
Tempering over 129,600 years, the unwillingness of being imprisoned, the pain of the ancient era's destruction—the intertwining of many emotions finally filled the last regret.
Thus, [Dao Heart] was born.
He had truly walked a Dao belonging to himself, leaving everything behind, returning the Great Daos to heaven and earth, owing no karma, and remaining carefree and unfettered from then on.
Dao Lord of Dharma Body was no longer sufficient to describe his [Great Merit].
The Primordial Saint praised, clapping his hands and laughing. "Dharma Body and Dao Heart—matter and consciousness—yet opposed and unified by [Yin-Yang]; it should be [Taiji]."
The second transcender in the history of the Light Sea was born.
Dao Lord Taiji, Sisui!
