"Fellow Daoist speaks correctly."
Looking at Banshan, Lu Yang collected his thoughts, then suddenly chuckled. "However, Fellow Daoist worries too much. I was merely complaining, not planning to renege on the debt."
"I have already claimed that one hundred million reserve fund."
As soon as these words came out, Banshan immediately glanced at Lu Yang with satisfaction. A child worth teaching! That's more like it. If you don't even dare to take a loan, what means do you have to cultivate immortality?
But soon, his expression changed again, and he said solemnly, "In that case, Fellow Daoist shouldn't have come to waste time with me. The immortal talisman refining method is obscure and difficult to understand; without a hundred or eighty years, one cannot understand its mysteries. Fellow Daoist should immediately enter seclusion now and refine your own immortal talismans as soon as possible... immortal... immortal..."
Banshan's voice came to an abrupt halt.
Because at this moment, Lu Yang looked calm. He spread his palm, and floating there in the center was a great dao immortal talisman that had never appeared in the [Celestial Court] before.
"...Huh?"
Banshan blinked, stunned for quite a while before reacting. Impossible. This person has already comprehended the key points and understood how to refine immortal talismans?
Are you kidding me!
That was an immortal talisman! Below the level of a perfected lord, one couldn't even understand it, let alone counterfeit it. Even a perfected lord would need decades of comprehension to refine this supreme treasure!
And how long had Lu Yang been in the [Celestial Court]?
Less than a day!
But facts wouldn't lie. No matter how one looked at it, the immortal talisman in Lu Yang's hand was very standard, with complete anti-counterfeiting marks, enough to be recognized by the [Celestial Court].
Even judging by its quality, the one in his hand... might be of better quality than the unorthodox immortal talismans uniformly issued by our Unorthodox Alliance!
In an instant, Banshan became vigilant.
He might not be good at fighting techniques, nor skilled enough in the schemes and plots between cultivators, but if you mentioned immortal talismans to him, he understood them better than anyone.
Although our unorthodox immortal talismans used some cost-cutting and efficiency-boosting tricks during production for mass issuance, resulting in subpar quality, they are endorsed by the entire Unorthodox Alliance, so their credit value is still very high. Plus, there are no competitors, so it's not a big problem.
But now it's different.
The one in the opponent's hand is also of the Unorthodox immortal talisman stature, but the quality is better. I'm afraid it will be more easily favored by those Orthodox immortal lords on the sixth layer and above.
If this happened, the exchange rate would inevitably have problems.
And once there was a problem with the exchange rate, it would inevitably be accompanied by inflation, financial storms, and capital shrinkage... The blow to the Unorthodox Alliance could be said to be fatal!
Thinking of this, Banshan narrowed his eyes.
How to respond?
Either we also increase costs here and produce higher quality Unorthodox immortal talismans... or incorporate this kind of immortal talisman into the Unorthodox Alliance's system!
The former had a high probability of hurting both sides, while the latter was a win-win!
At this moment, the look Banshan gave Lu Yang completely changed. If before he just treated Lu Yang as an ordinary Unorthodox perfected lord—recruiting him would be best, but if not, it didn't matter—then now, he looked at Lu Yang like he was looking at a money tree. He must make him join the Unorthodox Alliance!
Lu Yang saw the change in Banshan's eyes.
As expected of my wisdom...
How long had it been? Less than two hours, and Patriarch Nether Whisper had thoroughly comprehended the immortal talisman refining method and successfully refined the first great dao immortal talisman!
The so-called great dao immortal talisman varies depending on the dao fruit used to condense it, possessing significant personal characteristics. This one was condensed by the Patriarch using the [Wu You Heaven] (Heaven of Carefree). Among the Unorthodox paths, the [Wu You Heaven] is considered top-tier, so the quality of the great dao immortal talisman produced is also very high.
Rubbing the immortal talisman in his hand, Lu Yang chuckled inwardly:
In that case, let's call you the Carefree Talisman!
In an instant, Lu Yang thought of many slogans to promote the Carefree Talisman: "Buy the Carefree Talisman, guarantee you have no worries"; "Buy the Carefree Talisman, earn income while lying down"...
In the next second, Lu Yang looked at the solemn-eyed Banshan and smiled:
"Fellow Daoist misunderstands. I have no intention of issuing immortal talismans on a large scale. The reason I came to find Fellow Daoist this time is actually just to discuss a transaction with you."
Lu Yang quickly changed his original plan.
The matters of Suo Huan and Empress Xiao could be put aside for later. Relying on his years of experience in the Primordial Saint Sect, Lu Yang immediately came up with a new idea.
Banshan raised an eyebrow upon hearing this. "What kind of transaction?"
Lu Yang smiled. "I won't issue my own immortal talismans on a large scale. On the contrary, I plan to build it upon the system of Fellow Daoist and the Unorthodox Alliance."
"My immortal talisman is named [Carefree Talisman]. Fellow Daoist can also see that the quality is good. However, I don't plan to sell it as a currency, but as a product... I will limit the quantity of the [Carefree Talisman] to a fixed value, and it can only be purchased with unorthodox immortal talismans."
"And similarly, I hope your noble alliance can also provide some help."
"For example, some fairly formal resources can only be purchased with the [Carefree Talisman]... including the promotion of the [Carefree Talisman], which also requires the help of your noble alliance..."
Instantly, Banshan's eyes lit up.
With his experience, he didn't need Lu Yang to explain in detail. Just hearing the beginning, he understood Lu Yang's plan. This was indeed a win-win transaction for both parties!
He even saw further business opportunities.
The quality of this Carefree Talisman is quite high, leaving room for price speculation... As long as we operate it well, it can even be mentioned in the same breath as orthodox immortal talismans.
Sudden wealth!
With his keen insight, Banshan discovered an excellent opportunity for the Unorthodox Alliance to get rich overnight. However, at the same time, he also saw the hidden crisis.
The speculated price will ultimately be artificially high. After all, behind the [Carefree Talisman] are only us Unorthodox perfected lords, while behind the Orthodox immortal talismans are Orthodox immortal lords, not to mention the highest-level Taiyin immortal talismans. So after a period of inflated prices, a crash will inevitably occur!
By then, there would probably be a bloodbath...
But soon, Banshan regained his composure. No matter. As long as we pull out before that and transfer the risk to the cultivators below, it will be fine.
Let's do it!
With this thought, Banshan's gaze toward Lu Yang became increasingly fervent. This filthy outsider... No, this Fellow Daoist Ming He still has a lot of potential!
On the other side, Lu Yang also smiled.
Very good. The primitive accumulation of capital has taken the first step... I indeed didn't see wrong; this [Celestial Court] is an undeveloped blue ocean!
The rule of the [Celestial Court] was money.
If you had money, you were awesome. You could buy anything, even dao fruits. One could imagine that the more money you had, the higher your status in the [Celestial Court].
Given time, what if I become the richest person in the [Celestial Court]?
Can I become the boss of the [Celestial Court]?
Even if I can't, paying the immortal lords of the [Celestial Court] to do things for me should be fine, right? For example... paying them to surround and kill [Perfected Lord Gangxing Budao]!
Anyway, the [Celestial Court] also planned to go to war with the Immortal Nexus. Who wasn't worth killing?
The Demon of the Immortal Nexus, everyone should execute him!
At this moment, many plans emerged in Lu Yang's mind, and the smile on his face became increasingly sincere. The [Celestial Court] was actually a good place!
This arc is a bit of a parody on another trending light novel, "How Can You Cultivate Immortality Without Money?" I would recommend giving it read if you haven't already
