Chapter 8 - I Am Your Father

"No, I'm a doctor," the man raised his eyebrows and deliberately slowed his pace to match Rong Xingyu's.

Ah, the school doctor. Rong Xingyu imagined the man in a white coat and it seemed he would look perfect that way.

As they approached a fork in the road, the man stopped first.

"Shall we exchange contact information? If you ever have questions later, little classmate, you can help me on WeChat. Is that okay?"

Rong Xingyu felt embarrassed being called "little classmate" repeatedly but nodded, pulling his phone from his pocket.

The phone had been bought by the original owner, it was a brand new model of the latest fruit brand phone.

In his previous life, Rong Xingyu had only used a second-hand old phone. It could make calls, even crush a walnut if needed, but anything else like for WeChat, internet browsing was impossible.

The original owner's memory included "how to get to Qingfeng Building," but "how to add a friend on WeChat" was not something he had.

Rong Xingyu swiped across the screen for a long time after unlocking it with his fingerprint but couldn't find the WeChat icon.

Seeing the man patiently waiting, Rong Xingyu felt his cheeks burn from the bottom up.

"I'll do it," the man said.

He took the phone. His hands were large and bony able to hold the phone easily with one hand and Rong Xingyu could only watch as his thumb lightly tapped twice.

Immediately, the WeChat interface appeared on the screen.

The man saw Rong Xingyu's avatar and WeChat name. He froze for a moment, then couldn't help but chuckle softly.

Turning the phone toward Rong Xingyu, he slowly read aloud the original owner's WeChat name, "I Am Your Father?"

Rong Xingyu was completely dumbfounded.

Someone… please save me!

He never expected that the original owner's WeChat name would be so wild and mischievous.

Even more mortifying, the avatar next to "I Am Your Father" was a selfie from the original owner's rainbow punk hairstyle period.

Rong Xingyu: "..."

The flush on his cheeks shot straight up to his head and now smoke seemed to be curling out from the top.

Ding Yixin looked at the little boy in front of him with head bowed lower and lower wishing he could disappear into a hole. Worried that teasing him more would scare him off, he had considered stopping.

But seeing Rong Xingyu's ears peeking out red from beneath his black hair, Ding Yixin narrowed his eyes slightly.

He typed a string of numbers into the phone, then asked understandingly: "It's added. If you don't like this name, do you want me to change it for you?"

Rong Xingyu: Why mention it again!

Ding Yixin hadn't expected that, even though Rong Xingyu looked like he was embarrassed to the point of tears, he still obediently nodded.

The little boy paused for a moment, then lifted his head to look at him and softly said: "Please change it to Rong Xingyu..."
