Ruby's POV
"Impossible," I breathed, my hands balling into fists that shook uncontrollably.
"Elias never said that to you. He promised me I was the only one who could bring him peace. He swore no one else had ever affected him the way I do. You're fabricating lies!"
"Perhaps," Bonnie replied with a casual shrug, "he genuinely believed you might be his salvation. But tell me, what exactly did you accomplish when he spiraled out of control? You froze like a deer in headlights. Absolutely worthless."
I desperately wanted to tell her to stop talking.
The problem was she spoke nothing but facts.
She moved closer, her tone laced with cruel amusement. "Your wolf is pathetic beyond measure. Especially after that injury weakened you further, you became completely helpless when he needed strength most. You understood your limitations perfectly, yet you still rejected assistance from Michael and myself. Pure selfishness."
