Chapter 6 - Mr. N's Secret Base (1)

Hours, almost a day goes by. So do a few conversations. Mr. N takes a child like calm approach with Liam. Treating him kindly and not like a patient. Finally, Mr. N arrives at his Secret base in the US with Liam.

"First time in the US?" Mr. N smirked proud like he owned the place.

"No." Liam grunted

"Damm and here I thought I took your tourist virginity." Mr. N laughed.

Liam didn't reciprocate the same energy however. "Do not make jokes like that."

In the helicopter they look down at the ground beneath them as they jump out.

Mr. N descends gracefully, the boosters in his boots firing at just the right moment, breaking his fall with effortless precision.

Liam, by contrast, slams into the concrete like a discarded ragdoll completely unfazed, as if gravity itself is just a minor inconvenience.

Mr. N watches, his composure slipping for half a second.

"He's the closest thing to a superhuman I've ever seen... This is ridiculous."

Suppressing his shock, he clears his throat and casually gestures around.

"Anyway, uhh welcome to your destination, hope you enjoyed the ride."

Liam ignores Mr. N speaking like he's a flight attendant just brushing it off as immature humor.

As Mr. N's mind finally focuses he gets back on topic.

Mr. N: "This is my tertiary work camp. It's run by my student Destroyer. But this week's special. A lot my best men are hosted here Solomon, Osprey, etc. They are just like you.

Mr. N: "I'll introduce you to them soon. But don't interact with them unless I'm there. Each member of my elite guard suffers from a form of psychotic, dissociative, or neurodevelopmental disorder—and unless you know how to handle them, things can go very wrong. For both of you."

Liam gets suspicious but doesn't show his suspicions. 'Everyone is diseased? Strength comes at a cost. If they were "well" I assume they wouldn't be strong. As strong means experience. And experience means trauma.'

Almost as if reading his mind, Mr. N comments "Madness is a medicine for the modern world. In moderation it's greatly benefical. These are my fighters who will help me create a new society."

Liam mumbles "And if you overdose, on this madness."

"They cant overdose, because I am the doctor, I control it. I give them the dosage."

Mr. N smiled

Putting his hand on Liam's shoulder. "For now, you are going to be stationed here. In two days, I will grant you a squad consisting of some of my best men to go rescue your friend. The one you spoke about on the helicopter.

Liam has no idea what Mr. N is saying. "Friend?" I never mentioned—

Words drifted past him as the fog brushed across his skin, cold, like snow.

I'm in America?

The air hasn't changed from Greenland, yet everything feels wrong.

As Liam walks on the straight and narrow path. He looks to his right. He sees animals walking in a crowd. White sheep all walking in a straight line. But they weren't walking on the ground. Its as if their hoofs didn't even touch the floor.

"Why is there snow?" Liam inhaled, the snow went into his lungs as he coughed it out.

This isn't snow? Its fur?

As he wheezes, He snaps out of it.

He regains his mind briefly catching the last thing Mr. N says.

"Until then, keep yourself entertained and out of sight."

Liam walks towards the door Infront of him through the heavy fog.

Liam opened the door seeing the dimly light comfortably decorated room, the fog and the snow immediately disappeared.

It was just him and the small room now. No more distractions. He felt safer.

A slight smile growing on his face. "Comfort."
