Chapter 8 - The Tiger Or maybe Cat

Alokita sat on the broken bed, still pale.Across the room, the giant red tiger glared at him.Its fur was still smoking from the lightning strike.

For a long time, no one said a word. Then Alokita whispered, "Uhh… you okay?"

"You dare speak to me, human? After attacking me with lightning!?"

Alokita blinked fast. "Wait—me!? I didn't do that! The system did!"

"System? What is that? Some kind of spell?"

"No! It's like… a special ability that shows windows and—ugh, forget it! I didn't do anything!"

The tiger's tail slammed on the floor, making a small shockwave.

"Liar! I felt your will pressing on me! You think I don't know when someone uses power!?"

Alokita jumped up. "Hey! Don't blame me! I'm too lazy to fight you!"

The tiger narrowed its golden eyes.

"Then how did you burn me with lightning, weakling?"

Alokita threw his hands up. "I don't know! Maybe I sneezed thunder?"

The tiger growled loudly.Flames flickered across its mane, heating the whole room again.

Alokita sighed. "I told you! It's not me, it's my system!"

"System, system! Stop lying! I know you're hiding your real power, human!"

Alokita rolled his eyes. "Yeah right. If I had real power, do you think I'd live in this tiny room with broken furniture!?"

The tiger paused.

"...Hmm. True."

Finally, it laid down, still glaring at him.

"Fine. I will not attack. For now."

"Good. Let's keep it that way," Alokita said, rubbing his forehead.

"What… what did you do to me!?"

"Nothing! It's the system again!"

"Stop lying, human! You shrunk me on purpose!"

"I swear, it's not me! You think I want a pocket-sized tiger!?"

The tiger puffed out smoke in anger.

"Change me back this instant!"

"I don't even know how!"

The mini tiger hissed and jumped at him, landing on his head."OUCH! Hey! Get off! Bad kitty!"

"Flame King! NOT KITTY!"
