Land of Whirlpools, Konoha's Frontline Main Camp.
Uchiha Fugaku, leading a strike force primarily composed of Uchiha clan members, launched a surprise attack on Kirigakure's frontline main base, and due to it being a surprise attack, they achieved a great victory.
However, upon his return, after learning of the battle results achieved by Haku and Tsunade, there was no joy on his face, because he realized that Haku being able to kill the Third Mizukage meant that he had definitely awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan.
Originally, Uchiha Fugaku still held a glimmer of hope, believing that Haku might not have awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan, but now, it could be said that this possibility was almost nonexistent.
Because without activating the Mangekyo Sharingan, killing the Third Mizukage would be almost impossible.
Although the opponent was old, he was still a village Kage. How could such a strong individual be killed by a teenager in his teens? Uchiha Fugaku, at least, didn't believe it.
Wait, if Tsunade knew, wouldn't that mean... The problem was that Uchiha Fugaku didn't know if Tsunade knew, and if Tsunade knew, would she tell the village? Also, did Haku hide his strength, and this was very important.
Hopefully, Tsunade didn't know, otherwise, things would be troublesome.
Uchiha Fugaku was very uneasy. He was now waiting for news from the rear, as well as guarding against Kirigakure's counterattack. Although Kirigakure had suffered a major defeat, and even their own Kage had been killed, this didn't mean they would simply retreat.
A major defeat, the Third Mizukage killed, and they just retreat like that? Would they be willing?
Certainly not. So now, the camp was still on high alert.
Guarding against sudden enemy attacks at any time.
However, compared to the worried Uchiha Fugaku, the Uchiha clan members were much happier.
"Clan head, our Uchiha clan has achieved great merit this time."
"That's right, that Haku guy actually managed to kill the Third Mizukage. His strength is truly unexpected, but was it Tsunade who killed him, or was it him?"
"Wait, I think it definitely wasn't him. Although I don't know why Tsunade spoke up for that kid, I'm guessing it might be because she gave him the credit out of gratitude for saving her life."
Where there were harmonious voices, there were naturally also discordant ones.
And the doubts about Haku immediately aroused dissatisfaction among some clan members.
As one of Haku's staunch supporters, Uchiha Tekka immediately stood up and angrily retorted, "Nonsense! You're just jealous, Uchiha Gaku. You're no good yourself, so you question others. Does that mean you're good?"
"What do you mean?"
Uchiha Gaku responded furiously.
Saying I'm jealous? I'm not jealous at all.
Seeing this, Uchiha Yashiro immediately said in a deep voice, "Enough, what are you two arguing about? Our Uchiha clan has achieved great merit, which is something to be happy about. Moreover, this means the war is about to end, which is good for everyone. Is there any meaning to your arguments? Besides, Tsunade herself said it, so it can't be false."
Of course, this was just putting a positive spin on it. Whether the war ended or not was not up to them.
Although the Uchiha were warlike, it didn't mean they liked war.
War meant death.
The clan members who died this time.
There were truly many.
Many of Uchiha Yashiro's friends and acquaintances were buried on the Kirigakure battlefield, so ending the war against Kirigakure was something most Uchiha clan members hoped for.
Furthermore, although Tsunade was from the Senju clan, her status, position, and outstanding contributions as a medical ninja earned her great respect and trust from the Uchiha clan. Moreover, she had no reason to lie.
Since she said Haku did it, then Haku did it; it couldn't be false.
"That's right, this is something to be happy about. No more fighting, isn't that good? We miss home too, you know."
Following Uchiha Yashiro's angry reprimand, the clan members all nodded in agreement, then changed the subject, beginning to express their longing for their families.
While the clan members were arguing, Uchiha Fugaku had been in a state of distraction, which also greatly disappointed Uchiha Yashiro.
To be honest, there was an undercurrent within the Uchiha now, and he knew that Uchiha Inabi and others had plans to stage a coup and overthrow Uchiha Fugaku, electing a new clan head.
But Uchiha Fugaku was still oblivious to these changes below him.
This greatly disappointed him, but as a member of the Police Force.
Uchiha Yashiro still hoped Fugaku could step up.
But it didn't seem likely at the moment.
Neutral, remain neutral.
This was Yashiro's choice.
That being said, Uchiha Yashiro still hoped Uchiha Fugaku would show some initiative, rather than being so muddled. It would be embarrassing and disgraceful if he were truly overthrown.
"Clan head, Haku killing the Third Mizukage is a great achievement. How do you think the clan should reward him?" Uchiha Yashiro asked.
"Haku? Reward?" Uchiha Fugaku subconsciously said upon hearing this, his tone indicating that he hadn't considered this question at all.
"Clan head, Haku has achieved merit after all. The deserved rewards cannot be absent. The clan's secret techniques can be appropriately opened up, what do you think?" Uchiha Yashiro was very helpless, still having to rely on himself, and immediately suggested to Uchiha Fugaku.
"Alright." Uchiha Fugaku pondered for a moment, then nodded and said.
You see, what he was currently focused on was Haku possibly having awakened the Mangekyo Sharingan; he didn't really care about anything else. Now, with Uchiha Yashiro's reminder, he would go with the flow and use the opportunity of imparting secret techniques to test Uchiha Haku... And at this time, Haku, whom Fugaku and Yashiro were discussing, was currently in Tsunade's tent.
Originally, Tsunade intended to leave after sending out the battle report, but Haku stopped her, citing that the village's instructions hadn't arrived yet. Then, he unceremoniously stayed in Tsunade's tent.
"Why aren't you staying in your own tent? Why do you have to be here?" Tsunade's face darkened, and she said unhappily.
"Lady Tsunade, I'm only doing this for your own good." Haku said indifferently.
For my own good?
You can stop with that.
Tsunade didn't believe him at all.
She sneered, "Aren't you just afraid I'll run away?"
"You can't say that. I'm simply doing this for your own good, and also for your consideration." Haku naturally denied it and offered an explanation.
"Get real. I haven't given you any promises, nor will I give you any support. Don't expect me to help you." Tsunade believed that the favor had already been repaid, and she wouldn't go along with Haku's plans.
"Lady Tsunade, I think you might be targeted," Baimu said slowly, his expression serious.
Tsunade's expression was playful as she looked at Baimu and snorted, "What did you say?"
I'm being targeted?
That joke isn't funny at all.
She merely took Baimu's words as an attempt to stop her from leaving, and to say that he wanted to use her influence to gain power for the Uchiha.
