Chapter 23 - Chapter 23: The Banned Brilliance

Finally, half a month later, Maruzensky finally finished dealing with the dormitory supervisor's demands.

And once again, while buying groceries with Representative Chiaki at the supermarket,

Representative Chiaki finally brought up that question.

"Maruzen, what do you think about us buying a storefront for Tokai?"

Hearing this, Maruzensky turned her head to look at her.

Clearly, Maruzensky couldn't quite understand Representative Chiaki's thought process.

"It's just something I thought of when I saw Tokai looking at part-time job ads a while ago. And it seems there's a storefront for sale in the Shopping Street near Tracen Academy, right?"

After Representative Chiaki briefly explained, Maruzensky finally understood what she meant.

After a few seconds of thought, Maruzensky spoke, "Tokai's physical condition can't handle it, can she?"

"There is indeed that issue to consider, which is why I haven't told Tokai yet, although I somehow feel like she's already guessed."

Saying this, Representative Chiaki's face also showed a helpless expression, "Although it's just a feeling, she must have guessed, otherwise she wouldn't have said things like 'let me decide'."

After saying this, Representative Chiaki didn't continue to dwell on the matter. She just looked at Maruzensky, "But because of Tokai's physical condition, what I've proposed are basically snack shops or similar. As long as there's a supply channel, they wouldn't be difficult to set up."

The choice Representative Chiaki made was indeed not problematic.

Because ordinary snack shops were indeed more suitable for that situation.

And although Tokai Shizen was sickly, an Uma Musume's physical fitness was always stronger than a human's.

So a snack shop, which didn't require too much effort, was quite suitable.

But the problem was… Maruzensky only spoke after putting a few carrots into the shopping basket, "So why are you telling me? Your prize money should be enough to buy it."

"Regarding that…"

Representative Chiaki just sighed, "If one person buys it, Tokai…"

At this point, Representative Chiaki's face was filled with helplessness.

And Maruzensky also understood Representative Chiaki's thoughts.

After all, if it were given to Tokai Shizen by just one person, Tokai Shizen might become completely obedient to her.

But that kind of Tokai Shizen was not the Tokai Shizen that Maruzensky and Representative Chiaki cared about.

So… "Two people investing together might not be bad, but…"

At this point, Maruzensky paused. She looked at the vegetables on the shelf, lost in thought.

She didn't know what to choose. If they were to consider the common tastes of Uma Musume, perhaps buying some vegetables that paired well with carrots would be better.

But considering Tokai Shizen's health, shouldn't they buy something that seemed more to her liking?

However, unfortunately, neither Maruzensky nor Representative Chiaki knew what Tokai Shizen liked to eat.

And Tokai Shizen usually took care of Representative Chiaki and Maruzensky's tastes, as for her own tastes, she almost never expressed them.

Maruzensky, thinking of this, just sighed, then casually picked a few side dishes and put them into the shopping basket, before looking at Representative Chiaki, "Have you chosen?"

"How about beef tongue?"

"What are you planning to have Tokai cook for us?"

"Then let's buy a piece of beef. Although I feel pork might be better."

Picking up a piece of beef, Representative Chiaki walked back to Maruzensky's side, "Besides two people investing together, what other options are there?"

"Let's call Chiyo O as well. If it's just the two of us, I always feel Shizen will notice something."

Maruzensky's words were naturally heard clearly by Representative Chiaki.

And the next second after Maruzensky finished speaking, Representative Chiaki continued, "Besides that, there's one more problem."

"Rudolph?"

"Something like that. After all, that Shopping Street is quite close to Tracen Academy, isn't it?"

Hearing this response, Maruzensky merely glanced at the groceries already chosen in the shopping basket, "We've bought almost enough. We can prepare to go back."

"Almost enough? Then that's it."

Saying this, Representative Chiaki put a packaged box of cilantro she was holding back on the shelf.

Walking back, Maruzensky continued their previous conversation.

"If we want to prevent Rudolph, we don't need to worry too much about normal circumstances, as she wouldn't go there at all. But if something unexpected really happens, someone still needs to inform Tokai Shizen, right?"

"You're right. In that case, it does seem so."

Hearing this, Representative Chiaki's expression was thoughtful for a moment before she spoke, "But if that's the case, Chiyo O probably doesn't have that much money, does she?"

"Chiyo O has quite a bit of money she can use in the Sakura Corps, but she'll have to replenish it with prize money later."

"In that case, it's certainly enough."

Representative Chiaki thought for a few seconds, then continued, "Tokai Teio, will she enter Central Tracen in the future?"

The appearance of this name made Maruzensky look up at Representative Chiaki.

Although Tokai Teio was an Uma Musume adopted by the Tokai Family, as people who had interacted with Tokai Shizen, both of them clearly understood that it wasn't an adoption at all, but rather the Tokai Family's bloodline.

So, Maruzensky's strong reaction was only natural.

"If she shows talent, she'll most likely be sent in, after all, she's that person's bloodline."

After giving this answer, Maruzensky added another sentence, "Don't let Shizen hear about this. She…"

"I know. She can't handle that much stimulation."

Saying this, Representative Chiaki was silent for a few seconds, seemingly preparing for something.

Finally, when she could see Maruzensky's home, she spoke the remaining words:

"Although the Tokai Family is detestable, Tokai Teio is innocent. If Tokai Teio enters Central…"

"Are you planning to have Tokai Teio meet Tokai?"

Maruzensky, realizing Representative Chiaki's intention, looked at Representative Chiaki.

"…Yes."

Looking at Representative Chiaki, whose expression was not as carefree as usual, Maruzensky was silent for a few seconds, then responded:

"That's a good idea."
