Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Picked the Mushroom Island, Absolutely Invincible!

Classic skyblock survival.

The place was small, but it had all the essentials.

A patch of grass blocks, and the tree in the center could provide food and starting materials.

'It's the best starting location!'

Lexon had no idea how many times he had played this kind of survival, turning an empty plot into a continent.

Now that it had become a real-life version, he just felt it was exceptionally new and exciting!

"Look at the surroundings! How is it all grass blocks, without even a house?!"

"One tree? What can one tree do?"

"Holy crap, I can't imagine how to develop from this situation!"

"Whoever goes there is doomed to die, right?!"

"It's a pity for this young man named Lexon. He's going to be tortured to death."

As the skyblock environment was shown on the screen, the entire Jiuzhou Nation let out a wail.

No one could have imagined that after the difficulty was massively increased, they would end up with such a difficult start!

In contrast were the audiences from other countries.

"Hahaha, this is killing me! You call that a start?"

"Sorry, but our Liberty Nation contestant spawned on Pumpkin Island. There's a whole island of pumpkins!"

"Although it's harder than the previous fixed village starts, we have endless pumpkins to eat. No need to worry about hunger at all!"

"Yoshi! Our contestant's birthplace actually has a huge patch of watermelons!"

"It even has a small house and a water source. It's simply fantastic!"

"Okamura-kun, gambatte!"

"Since they used an item, Jiuzhou's starting resources must be great, right?"

"Huh? How come there's only ground? No house and no water?"

"And the contestant is a college student. He probably doesn't even know how to start a fire!"

"Hahahahaha!"

All sorts of sarcastic and passive-aggressive bullet comments appeared, making the people of Jiuzhou clench their fists.

They wanted to retort, but then they looked at the other blocks.

The contestant Mark was all smiles, extremely happy.

His luck was great. He drew the number one spot and selected the block with the most abundant resources.

Pumpkin House!

A beautiful island made entirely of pumpkins, covered in green grass and fresh flowers, and even a small river.

The house was already built. Although it was a dirt house, it was enough to block monster invasions.

Inside, a large bed made of soft wool was enough for a person to lie down and rest comfortably for a night.

If this weren't in the Cube Civilization, it would absolutely be a coveted paradise!

"Oh! This is great, Jett! We were actually chosen for the game together!"

"After training, I'm already familiar with how to use and craft a bow and arrow. This time, we will become the Lords of the Civilization!"

Each civilization has its own rules. Just like the Parkour Civilization, it was divided into Parkour Novice, Parkour Expert, Parkour Master, and Parkour Champion.

Parkour Champion was already the pinnacle of the Parkour Civilization, but above that, there was still a supreme existence.

The Lord of the Civilization!

Truly supreme, able to perfectly master an entire civilization!

This held immense benefits, both for oneself and for one's country.

Occupying such favorable conditions, and having an old partner with him, filled Mark with confidence.

Mark's situation was not unique.

Most people had chosen a start they were satisfied with.

On a small, red-toned island, Sam chang let out a breath of relief.

"Thank goodness I drew number six!"

His position was very early, allowing him to pick one of the places with the least lack of food.

Mushroom Island!

Two Mooshrooms, and a three-block mushroom 'coffin house' that could only fit a bed.

Plus mushrooms visible everywhere. This was the optimal starting block that Sam chang had meticulously selected!

"Sam-chang-imnida! You're the best!"

"This is great! This place is full of mushrooms. No need to worry about food at all!"

"Breeding the two Mooshrooms means endless beef and mushrooms in the future!"

"Having picked the Mushroom Island, won't advancing to a Large-Block be easy?"

"Invincible!"

At this moment, cheers erupted all over the Stick Nation.

The knowledge etched into everyone's bones was that survival required securing food!

Previous civilizations had also confirmed this point: food was the most important resource in the Cube Civilization.

In one civilization, food control was so strict that players lacked saturation, impairing their jump distance and running speed, making it difficult to level up.

Now, the Mushroom Island start solved such a critical problem right from the beginning. Everyone was full of expectations for Sam chang.

"There seems to be a figure not far away. If I'm not mistaken, it's the Jiuzhou contestant, right?"

"Jiuzhou? This is hilarious! Their contestant is actually on a skyblock!"

"There's nothing! I heard the contestant is a college student. He's simply here for comic relief!"

"I can't wait to see him get torn apart by zombies!"

"Hahaha!"

Sharp-eyed viewers spotted a figure in the corner. After Sam chang finished inspecting his block, he also saw Lexon nearby.

'A skyblock?'

The two weren't far, nor were they close. His viewing angle allowed him to see the situation on Lexon's island perfectly.

Sam chang immediately burst out laughing.

Only one tree, resources scarce to the extreme. The only food source was apples that might fall from the tree at who-knows-when.

How could that compare to his Mushroom Island?

'Just trash. Sooner or later, he'll be stepped on by my Great Stick Nation!'

'I wonder if conquering other blocks will increase my score.'

After the rules were explained, a piece of information appeared before Sam chang's eyes.

[Current Block Comprehensive Score: 1 (Micro-Block)]

He needed to build up the block and raise his score to level up.

In past civilizations, one could gain score points by killing other players or creatures to level up.

As a large-scale civilization, the Block Civilization should have inherited this function.

The closest and weakest, Jiuzhou, would be his first target!

'As it happens, in the last civilization, I learned the crafting recipe for a classic delicacy from a chest: Mushroom Stew!'

He picked two mushrooms from the ground and then took out a wooden bowl from the house.

This was the excellent recipe he had wasted three days to bring out. It only required a three-block crafting space and could make Mushroom Stew, which increased saturation by three points.

Three points!

Even a precious food item like bread only increased saturation by 2.5 points!

He possessed an entire Mushroom Island, a near-infinite supply of Mushroom Stew.

This was enough to look down on the vast majority of players!

'Just one mushroom, another mushroom, and a bowl...'

Wanting to make something was simple. He just needed to place the corresponding items on a crafting table, and it would be produced automatically.

But immediately after, Sam chang froze.

He didn't have a crafting table.

Relying only on his built-in four-slot crafting grid, he couldn't make Mushroom Stew at all.

'Where's the crafting table?'

'Weren't these tools always in the villages before, included at spawn?'

Sam chang searched the entire Mushroom Island but couldn't find a crafting table anywhere.

'As expected of a large-scale civilization. Even the crafting table has to be unlocked later?'

Without a crafting table, he couldn't make mushroom stew. Sam chang could only give up helplessly.

He casually directed his gaze toward the skyblock.

'When food is scarce, the best strategy is to conserve stamina. What is that Lexon doing?'

'Chopping the tree? Is he kidding?'

With one glance, Sam chang couldn't help but laugh out loud.

If he left the tree, he might get lucky and have a few apples drop. Now that he's chopping it down, isn't he going to starve to death later?

'So young, indeed. He has no idea how to play the Cube Civilization!'
