Chapter 9 - Chapter 3.1

Alek and his master were walking through the forest while his master started talking

''I wanted to show you how dangerous the universe can be. I want you to look around''

Alek began to analyse his surroundings. He saw huge green plants that were like nothing he had ever seen before. The forest seemed weirdly quiet, the ground was unusually soft and he couldn't see the sky, because of the plants.

''Why aren't there any animals?'' After arriving at the planet about 15 minutes ago, he hadn't seen any creatures big or small. ''You said to look for them, but there aren't any''

''It's because animals aren't at the top of the food chain on this planet. Animals don't eat plants, but plants eat animals'' His master said with his usual serious expression ''If you had come here alone, you probably would have already gotten eaten.''

''Then why aren't they trying to eat us'' Alek asked, a little confused

''It's because I am with you. These plants are very smart, so they know not to mess with strong opponents''

His master suddenly saw something and hid in a bush. He then gestured to Alek, to come to him quietly.

''Look at that boar over there'' His master pointed

Alek saw a small creature, that was probably searching for food. It looked like a baby boar, but it had green fur. He then saw the plants roots starting to move, trying to grab the animal, while it was distracted.

''Imagine yourself as that boar. If you aren't prepared, you could die at any moment. The universe is an unforgiving place, waiting to eat you up. It's too dangerous for a kid like you. You might not want to see what happens next.'' After saying that, the man in the white hoodie closed his eyes, so He couldn't see the creature being devoured.

When he opened them, he turned his head to Alek, to see his reaction. He saw him holding the boar.

''I grabbed him, so he wouldn't get eaten.''

''YOU WHAT!?''

In a flash, thick vines sprouted from the ground and knocked away the man in a hoodie. Alek and the boar, on the other hand, were restrained by roots, while a giant plant head got closer to them, opening up to reveal teeth like growths. Before they could get eaten, Alek's master regained composure and destroyed the plant head with a single kick. He then quickly grabbed Alek and the boar and ran away as quick as he could.

''We need to find a place to hide!'' He exclaimed

''Aren't we safe now? You destroyed the plant, that was trying to eat us and we managed to get away.'' Alek asked

''We're not safe. These plants can communicate. Before long the whole forest will know what we did and it will be very angry.''

As the man in a hoodie said that, spikes shot from red plants that looked like Cacti. He managed to avoid them by jumping onto a tree, but attacks kept on coming. He was now jumping from tree to tree, avoiding attacks and looking for a safer place.

''There!'' He yelled loudly before picking up his pace and running into a cave.

''We are safe for now.'' He said with confidence ''This cave doesn't have any plants near it.''

After catching his breath, he angrily looked and Alek and asked:

''Why did you grab that boar!? It was supposed to die!''

Alek looked at him with an innocent expression and said ''He was gonna get eaten, I couldn't leave him alone''

The man in the white hoodie turned his gaze towards the boar, looking at it intensely. Seeing its and Alek's face made him quickly calm down. He then said:

''What are we going to do now?''

''Yeah, what are we going to do about the boar? Can we return it to its parents?''

''That's not what I mean. We can't leave the cave, because we are going to get attacked again.''

The man in a hoodie started walking in circles, trying to come up with an idea.

''If only I could use my technique, we could just destroy all the plants.'' He whispered to himself

''Your technique?'' Alek asked

''It's none of your business, I have reasons why I don't use my technique. It would be of no use anyway, we won't be able to find the teleportation spot we arrived from, because we ran too far away.''

The man in the white hoodie looked at alek who was still holding the baby boar, let out a big sigh and then said:

''I guess we have no choice. I know another way to get back.''
