Chapter 2 - Chapter 2: Another World

Ding!

[Welcome to Another World!]

Klein quickly opened his eyes and saw that he was in a white room. Nothing was in the room; only he stood there, until a beautiful, child-like angel, with silver hair and blue skin, approached him with a cute smile.

Her wings spread out, and Klein was momentarily caught in their beauty, as she said, "Welcome to Another World."

"It is with great urgency, hero, that I inform you what has descended upon the mortal realm—"

"Skip."

Klein sighed, cutting her short. He had no interest in listening to the game's elaborate lore; he was eager to bypass the introduction and proceed directly to character creation.

"Skip?" The angel cutely frowned her face. "Why skip the best part?"

Klein was genuinely shocked by the angel's reaction to his decision. The guide's expression of surprise and faint offense was so realistic that it completely shattered the illusion of a standard, scripted video game sequence.

"Anyways," the angel resumed. "As I was saying, the mortal realm has—"

"Skip," Klein said once more, interrupting the angel cutscence.

"You f—" the angel immediately placed a hand at her cute lips, stopping herself from saying a foul word. "Fine, you've skipped the introduction."

Then,

A blue screen appeared in front of Klein, and another appeared, just slanting below the first blue screen, but with keys on it that resembled a keyboard.

[Please enter your ID.]

This was it, he had finally skipped the introductory scene and went straight to character creation.

With a hand on his chin, Klein quickly decided to use his e-sport name, BigK as his gamer ID.

[B.i.g.K.] he typed.

[Error! Username already in use!]

"What?" Klein reacted.

He tried another, BigM.

But the answer remained the same.

[Error! User name already in use!]

He kept trying different names, only just changing the the last letter after the Big, from K to Z, then to A.

He went, from BigM to BigE, then many more, but the answer remained the same, until he tried — BigD.

He intentionally avoided 'Big D,' as it could be perceived as alluding to 'Big Dick.'

After he typed BigD on the blue screen, the system immediately notified him.

[BigD is available for use.]

[Do you wish to use the username BigD.]

[Yes/No]

Klein chose [Yes,] as he didn't even mind what others would perceive him as. He could have totally gone for a completely different name format, but he just wanted to stick to the one he used for e-sports all these years.

'Rules?'

[1. Upon death, players incur a loss of experience (XP Reduction) and the loss of one random, non-essential item from their inventory. Items marked as "Account Bound" or "Quest Essential" are exempt from random loss.

2. Each player avatar is granted a maximum of five (5) total lives within in-game 24 hours. Upon a player's fifth and final death, their avatar will be permanently and irrevocably deleted from the game world. All skills, items, and progress associated with that character will be lost.

3. The time within Another World operates at twice the speed of the real world. One (1) day in-game (24 hours) is equivalent to 12 hours in the real world.

4. For stability and persistent world integrity, players are restricted to one (1) logout every 24 hours of real-world time. Once logged out, players must wait a full 24 real-world hours before they can initiate a second logout sequence.

5. Players may request the transfer of earned in-game items, currency, or materials to the real world.

Upon a successful extraction request, the official Game Office will provide the player with a physical, real-world card containing verified, tamper-proof information regarding the extracted digital asset.

6. Players may use this real-world card to prove ownership and sell their digital assets to any interested third parties (corporations, collectors, or other players). The Game Office acts only as the verifier of the item's existence, not as a market facilitator.

7. Seventh Rule is locked. ]

Klein's meticulously analyzed the rules of the game, and out of the seven, two caught his attention, the first being the second rule, which clearly said that each player has a total of 5 lives per in-game 24 hours, meaning within each 24 hours if a player loses all their Lifes, their account will be permanently deleted, and after each in-game 24 hours, the life will reset back to 5 for players that has lost a life.

Then, the second was the seventh Rule, which wasn't provided for, that sparked a little fear in Klein, as he wondered what prompted the developers not to clearly state it out.

As Klein contemplated all this, another system notification popped up.

[Chooses a Class.]

[Warrior] [Mage] [Ranger] [Cleric] [Rogue][Tamer]

The class listed were the base classes, but after completing secret quests or meeting skill requirements, advanced classes such as: Spellblade, Elemental Sage, Shadow Dancer, Paladin, Spirit Caller — can be unlocked.
