As they walked down the hallway of the building complex, Kael had the nerves in his body tense and his muscles bulged slightly due to tension. He and Adam had picked up some iron rods in a classroom room under renovation, giving them a little sense of security
Because today was a Saturday the faculty building was almost empty even he was only here because Adam said to meet him here he probably would have been in the dorm.The male dormitory contained at least 2000 students, even if it was the weekend at least half of the students would be there.
"Thank god I wasn't in the dormitory… Kael shuddered in fear.
Adam who was following him step by step suddenly said in a silent voice, "How about we use this free status point we have?
Kael did not look back and replied while he shook his head, "No I don't think that's a good idea, right now we don't know which attribute may save our life in time of need, if we use them casually we might regret them later."
Adam was silent for a few seconds before nodding in understand. He chuckled softly and said "Seems lyk all those fantasy novels finally paid off, oh knowledgeable one do you know why I didn't receive a skill scroll but I leveled up."
Suddenly four male zombies appeared at the end of the corridor, staggering towards them. Although this creatures gave the feeling they might stumble and fall any moment now, their steps never missed and they held steady as they walked slowly
Kael could feel himself becoming somewhat anxious at the appearance of numerous threats and he quickly used his skill to forcibly calm himself. He knew that losing control over his emotions at such a critical moment could be the cause of their death.
Adam staggered backwards with a pale face " wwhatt do we do there too much of them."
Currently there was no trap set up nor was there any blood in the vicinity to use and turning back could prove to very dangerous as they still don't know how many zombies are on this floor
Kael took a deep breath and shouted "Adam get it together, we can't panic or we'll die here." Adam seemed to have calmed down though he was still shaken up
"Can you throw the rod at them, if you can aim for her head it would be much better." Kael said while giving space for Adam
Adam wasted no time as he took a stance and threw the iron rod in his hand

The rod pierced a zombie's eyes disappearing halfway into his head

Kael had killed 2 other zombies after reaching level 2, One of them was a level 4. With the addition of three other zombies, he leveled up again.
The only regrettable thing was that he could not acquire benefits from this zombie
Everytime Kael leveled up, his stats would recover to the maximum point immediately. In short, even though he had spent 20 mana points in the classroom and another 30 just now to defeat the zombies, his mana recovered because he had leveled up.
"I think you should store some blood in a bottle so we wouldn't have to improvise again." Adam suggested over his shoulder
After thinking for a moment, Kael took an empty water bottle from a fallen trash can. Enduring the urge to vomit from the foul smell and horrible appearance of the dead zombies, just as he bent to take from their blood he stopped
"I think I found the answer to your question." Kael said as he threw a scroll to Adam

Kael and Adam's hunting became much more efficient as they went down floor by floor
Making use of the blood he had stored, he created small strings by spending only two points of mana, binding the movement of the zombies. Kael would that that advantage to approach and stab at the zombies with an iron rod
While Adam kept attacking from a safe distance with lightning infused rods
So far Kael had killed a total of 20 zombies and Adam 13
A thin strand of blood slid silently across the floor catching the leg of two zombies pulling hard as they crumbled down like a bag of potatoes
Taking advantage of his 13 points of agility which made him 40% faster than a normal human before the apocalypse, Kael quickly dashed around and stabbed hard at the zombies head raising his kill count to 21. Turning slightly he saw a metal rod where the second zombie's head should be, sparks flickering around it
"I have to risk my life while he just throws rods." Kael grumbled as he checked the messages flashing in his retina

Kael sighed in relief. To climb from level 4 to level 5 he was forced to kill about 15 zombies, which had drained his stamina quite a bit and several mana points
"What level are you at now?" Kael asked as he stared at Adam who was crouched trying to pull the iron rod he had just thrown.
"I'm halfway through to level 4." Adam shrugged
Kael nodded " we're almost to the 1st floor better get ready for hell
Upon reaching the 1st floor Kael's footsteps stopped as he looked at the zombies blocking their path in shock
"Wwhatt the hell is that?".
