Her husband's betrayal kept replaying in Samantha's mind. She gulped down the tequila after swirling it in her glass while staring at it absentmindedly.
She let out a heavy sigh as the bitter taste of beer slid down her throat. She slammed her glass down at the counter, gesturing to the bartender to pour her another drink.
"One more."
The bartender quickly refilled her glass with another tequila while giving her a worried look. 'She is drinking tequila as if it were water. Heartbroken, I guess.'
Samantha wanted to get drunk and forget those unwanted memories. She emptied her glass with a few gulps before asking for another refill. She repeated her actions several times.
It did not take long before Samantha heard the women's giggles at the nearby table. She turned around and her eyes landed on her brother-in-law, Jayden, who was surrounded by women.
He offered to accompany her earlier for a drink, but she blatantly rejected him. She wanted to be alone. Who would have thought that he stayed in the bar and chose to sit at the nearby table?
Subconsciously, Samantha's eyes began scrutinizing her brother-in-law. His business coat had been removed, and now, he was only wearing his half-unbuttoned white shirt, giving the ladies a peek of his toned chest and well-defined muscles.
"He looks so hot and gorgeous!" she absentmindedly mumbled, already feeling a little bit tipsy.
Then Samantha pouted her lips.
'So he brought me here just because of his own agenda– to enjoy the ladies' company. He loves attracting girls' attention. He is giving me a player vibe,' she lamented inwardly.
Jayden and Samantha were not close enough to be comforted by him, so she understood if her brother-in-law chose to have fun with other ladies inside the bar.
'Should I have fun and get laid tonight to get my revenge against my cheating husband?' Samantha thought to herself, her eyes still fixed on Jayden.
Samantha was still contemplating in her mind when Jayden sensed that someone was staring at him. Instinctively, he brought his attention back to the lady he had left at the bar counter, his gaze meeting hers with a curious look.
'Damn! I got caught!'
Samantha bit her lower lip as Jayden smiled at her, raising his wine glass. He then mouthed the words, asking if she wanted to join them.
As if Jayden's smile had a hypnotic effect, Samantha rose from her seat and headed to the table where he was. However, the moment she reached their table, she did something unexpected!
"This is your fault! You ruined everything! Cheaters should go to hell!" Samantha lashed out at him, not minding the people around them.
Then all her pent-up emotions finally exploded, and she broke down in front of Jayden, bawling while pounding her fists against his chest.
Her scandalous outburst attracted people's attention inside the bar, and they started giving Jayden an accusing look, thinking he was the one who cheated on her.
Meanwhile, Jayden was surprised by her sudden outburst. But when he recovered from the shock, Jayden quickly grabbed her wrist, pulling her with him.
They passed through the back door of the bar, finding a more secluded place for them to talk privately. He felt truly embarrassed by her actions. People mistook him for someone who made a beautiful lady cry. He was presumed to be a cheating boyfriend.
"Samantha, can you please calm down? What's wrong with you? I'm not Daniel, that cheating bastard. Why are you taking your anger out on me?" Jayden complained, still trying to control his temper… after all, he couldn't bring himself to get mad at her, especially now that she was crying like a child.
He even rubbed the space in between his eyebrows, taking a deep sigh.
"I want to take revenge on my cheating husband." She let her words linger, ignoring Jayden's complaint. Then she grabbed him closer, her fingers clutching on his shirt tightly.
"Simply divorcing him is not enough. Brother-in-law, can you help me?" She stared at him, her eyes begging him desperately.
Samantha was aware of the enmity between the two brothers- their unending rivalry! With Jayden's help, she wanted to destroy Daniel.
Hearing her last remarks, a knowing smile tugged at the corners of Jayden's lips. For some unknown reason, his charming smile made her heart flutter. Samantha had to admit that Jayden had a different allure from her husband, Daniel.
"Sam, you know I'm a businessman. I don't do things for free. What can you offer me in exchange for my help?"Jayden said, cocking his eyebrow with intrigue.
"I can pay you! How much do you want?"
Jayden let out a husky chuckle. And in one swift move, he closed the gap between them, lifting her chin and her eyes locking with his. All of a sudden, the temperature between them rose by several degrees.
"What if I tell you that I'm not interested in your money?" Jayden said, bringing his face closer to hers.
For a long time, Samantha's gaze lingered on his gorgeous face. She began comparing the two brothers. Both of them possessed a unique charm that could easily melt a girl's heart.
"Do you want to sleep with me, brother-in-law?" Samantha blurted out absentmindedly.
It was just a slip of the tongue. But it was too late to take back her words. Jayden has heard her words– loud and clear.
He smirked, a mischievous glint twinkling in his eyes. "Sister-in-law, you are so naughty and such a clever woman. Sleeping with me is a perfect revenge against your husband!"
"Wait… what?! I didn't mean to…" Samantha stammered with her words as she hesitated.
Jayden leaned in closer to her ear and whispered teasingly, "You can never take your words back, Sis-in-law."
Before she could react, he captured her face, lifting her chin as his lips descended to meet hers. At the moment their lips touched, she could feel her heart beating faster. She was too shocked to push him away. Her body froze on the spot.
Meanwhile, Jayden took advantage of her trance as he pressed his mouth gently against hers, savoring the sweet taste of her lips.
He even bit her lips teasingly, coaxing them apart before sliding his tongue inside. All she could do was shut her eyes as she began responding to his kiss.
It did not take long before she found herself drowning in his passionate kiss. Instinctively, she placed her hand on the back of his head, clutching his hair with her fingers as she tried to pull him closer to deepen the kiss further. With her eagerness, the kiss turned rougher and more urgent.
The kiss lasted for a few minutes. By the time they broke apart, the two of them were already panting heavily, catching their breath.
Samantha gazed at him intently and cupped Jayden's face. With eyes filled with determination, she uttered, "Can you help me forget him… even just for tonight?"
