Mireille jolted awake, staring blankly ahead. Something warm slid down her face. Confused, she raised her hands and brushed her cheeks, only to feel dampness beneath her fingers. Tears were streaming down her face. She buried her face in her knees, trembling and sobbing silently.
The door creaked open. Alex had been awakened by the sounds coming from Mireille's room. He was puzzled at first, then noticed something was off, it seemed she was, '…Crying? Huh?'
He hesitated only a moment before striding forward, towards the figure huddled on the bed.
"Mireille? What's wrong?" He asked somewhat awkwardly. He had no experience in dealing with such matters-he barely understood his own emotions, let alone someone else's.
Mireille lifted her head, wiping away the tear stains from her face, her eyes turned red from the rubbing. She didn't reply only staring blankly at Alex as he approached.
The silence stretched.
