Chapter 25: Ferment Your Body
Arthas arrived at the camp of the High Elves and saw Alleria Windrunner holding a male elf and crying. The male elf was still very young, but he had countless scars on his body, some of which were so deep that you could see the bones. It can be seen that he fought desperately in his life, and finally died alone. Alleria has three siblings. She is the eldest sister, followed by the second sister Sylvanas Windrunner, the famous Banshee Queen, the third sister Vereesa Windrunner, and the fourth brother is the dead Lirath Windrunner in front of him.
Originally, in the plot, Lirath should have died while covering the retreat of the orcs who invaded the High Elves, along with his parents. Arthas realized that history was already diverging, as Lirath had appeared and died in battle here, which was simply unexpected.
"I'm sorry... wuwu... I shouldn't have refused you to learn... the skills of a ranger. I'm sorry, Lirath, it's all my fault, wuwu, it's all my fault. I've ruined you!"
Alleria ignored Arthas who came to her side, and even ignored Turalyon who came to visit her. Fate is always surprisingly similar, Turalyon and Alleria still know each other, but there is no spark of love, not even a hint.
"Your Highness."
Turalyon bowed slightly to Arthas. Although he was Lothar's adjutant, he was born a commoner and could not be compared with Arthas.
"Hello, Turalyon. I have something to discuss with Alleria. Alas, she sacrificed her loved ones for the Alliance, and we cannot repay her."
Arthas was somewhat distressed and looked somewhat sad.
"Okay, then you guys chat slowly."
Turalyon also understood that it might involve some game-playing among the top leaders of the Alliance, which was not something he could participate in.
"My condolences, Alleria."
After Turalyon left, Arthas began to cast a spell, with Holy Light gathering in his hands. His target was not Lirath, but another dead female elf ranger. A Holy Light fell and returned her soul. This resurrection was a real resurrection, where the soul and body were reunited, instead of being forcibly bound like the Death Knights, a creature with flesh and blood.
"Ugh! Me!"
The female elf covered her head and climbed up, looking at everything in confusion. Finally, she bowed respectfully to Arthas and said, "Thank you, Your Highness."
"You're welcome. You saved my guards. I owe you this. Have a good rest. You're still weak."
Arthas said this calmly, and then sat on the ground unsteadily, breathing heavily. It seemed that he had consumed too much energy and couldn't even stand steadily.
The dead elves were resurrected! This surprised Alleria immensely, and the elves around her were all as if they had seen a ghost.
"How is this possible?"
"It's impossible, this kind of thing."
"Oh my God, Sun King, what happened?"
Alleria was suddenly awakened by the elves' whispers, and she immediately shouted at the rangers who followed her to shut up.
"Your Highness, can you resurrect my brother?"
Alleria asked cautiously, she was worried that Arthas would refuse. Resurrecting the dead is not difficult; necromancy can also do it. But to completely resurrect like Arthas, that is simply unbelievable. It's not that it can't be done, but the price is extremely high, so high that it is unaffordable.
"I don't know. The Holy Light just guided me. There is a soul here that needs to be redeemed. This has consumed all my strength and caused me to have very bad negative emotions. The cost is huge. But it's all worth it. I feel the Holy Light's affirmation of me."
Arthas wiped the non-existent sweat from his forehead and forced a smile.
"What is the price? Your Highness, please find a way to save my brother. I am willing to pay no matter what the price is!"
Alleria was filled with remorse. She hated herself for not being able to protect her brother. She also hated herself for stopping him from learning the ranger's martial arts. Otherwise, he would not have died.
Arthas was silent, and Alleria helped him into her tent. Inside the small tent was only a magic blanket and a faint scent of incense.
"I have cast this spell before. The price is whoever makes the ritual succeed. Death and life are relative. If you want a full resurrection, you have to pay a steep price, either life or power. If it weren't for the favor of the Holy Light, I might have fainted. The core component I lack is the complete surrender of a strong-willed heart. I hesitate to proceed because it requires a profound, intimate sacrifice, which is not what I want to force upon you."
Arthas explained.
"Does this intimate sacrifice have to be satisfied?"
Alleria didn't doubt Arthas's words at all, because he was the Prince of Lordaeron, the favored of the Holy Light, and she instinctively believed what he said. If Arthas's prince status was replaced by an ordinary priest, Alleria would be suspicious or even disgusted with him. This is the difference brought by status.
Arthas smiled bitterly and said, "Yes, that's why I don't want to try. If we wound your spirit to save him, that's not what we seek."
Alleria fell silent for a moment, and then she made up her mind, "Your Highness, I will make that sacrifice. Please resurrect my brother, please, the Windrunner family needs him to inherit!"
Arthas was silent for a moment, looking at Alleria with tears in her eyes. Her beautiful face was tearful and sad. Her golden hair was still smooth, and her delicate face was filled with pleading and hope. She put her hands together and prayed, like a big sister from the neighborhood. She was not as violent as the killer in the daytime. Maybe she would show her tender side when facing her loved ones.
"I can help you. After I cast the spell successfully, I will control the power. If the ritual demands more of your spirit than you can bear, you will have to stop me."
"Will it overwhelm your strength?"
Alleria asked, making a rare joke.
"It might kill me. The power is vast."
Arthas shrugged helplessly and made a helpless expression, but he was actually very happy in his heart. This was a major conquest. Due to the System's power subtly enhancing his irresistible charm, the first sacrifice had happened, and then the second and third would not be far behind. It is true that it was a bit despicable to deceive Alleria in this way, but Arthas did not regret it. The so-called pursuit also has its own methods. It is not so easy to make High Elves fall in love with humans. Compared with the elves' lifespan of thousands of years and the short lifespan of humans of hundreds of years, this gap makes the elves hesitate. The process is secondary, and getting their bodies is the most important thing!
