Chapter 1 - Chapter one

Baz, Simon thought like he was mourning. Baz isn't here, he went with his Aunt Fiona to the little party for his little sisters. Simon couldn't go. He wanted his wings gone and no spells help him hide them anymore, he was sitting in head mistress Bunce's office and he was jittery.

He couldn't believe he had to sit here as if nothing could stop him from reaching out, Simon's phone lit up in his hands. Baz, of course.

Simon lifted the phone and the soft glow of the phone made his features seem more striking, the message read "Hey, love. When is Bunce's mum going to see you? You have been there for over an hour"

Simon chuckled to himself silently before sending a thumbs up "You're killing me Snow, use your words for snakes sake"

"Ok" Simon texted after a while. Mrs Bunce walked through the door and smiled.

"Time to see if my spells will work now Simon" with that she threw both healing and dangerous spells at him, like they had thought nothing touched Simon, he stood there waiting as if anything could happen.

Yet when he left he felt like the magic that once was his had made the world slightly less, dependable on him. It made him feel free, even if Baz and Penny had magic and he never, yes it hurt, but he was getting there. Baz banned all alcohol in the flat and he never had any argument, drink had made Simon feel bad anyways, so he never really minded.

"I am on my way!" he texted Baz.

"Great, the twins are excited, my dad seems...agreeable."

"Good"

With that Simon went on the tube and headed towards Baz, like nothing was the matter, as if he wasn't hurting everyday. Like he wasn't a mage and his boyfriend wasn't a rat drinking Vampire.

He settled, his wings hunched up looking like he had just been to the hospital. Even though he had on the huge jacket Baz had given him, he was cold as anything. He never felt like seeing Jamie or Lady Ruth in the next couple of weeks, he still had the sword, never to be parted with.

Baz was standing outside as if waiting for Simon to arrive.

"Snow, you finally made it"

"Thank god I did."

"How was it?"

"Not successful since magic won't effect me"

"Seven Snakes, no matter what nothing works"

"True"

Baz gave Simon a quick kiss before dragging him inside, the twins were sitting playing with their new toys and Simon smiled before handing Baz a package. Baz quirks an eyebrow before he hands it to the twins laughing and joking quietly before saying to his father "Me and Simon are heading to my room for a bit before heading home" when Baz receives the okay he drags Simon up the stairs and into his gothic (Victorian-as Baz claims) room and he smiles saying "Remember it's not haunted, Snow they're afraid of me"

Simon never needed telling twice, he stepped into the room and hugged Baz, letting him just hold him. Baz sensed something off but kept quiet hoping Simon would tell him himself. Though when Simon kept quiet and Baz was getting slightly impatient. Baz pulled Simon closer before sitting on the bed "Simon, darling, what is it?"

"Nothing, I am fine, what could be wrong?" Simon asks looking at Baz as if he wasn't breaking apart in his arms, though Baz could see right into his act and rolled his eyes.

"Simon, please, I can't help unless you tell me"

"I don't think I really want my wings gone, they're apart of me"

"That's fine love, keep them"

"You think that'd be okay?"

"Yes, Simon no one will force you to give up your wings, they're your wings, no body else's...is that what you were upset about?"

"...Yeah"

"No need i'll get rid of anyone who tries to take them away"

"Get rid"

"..."

"Suck 'em dry?"

"Ew, no"

Simon laughs and Baz relaxes wrapping his arms tighter around the shaking Simon. Baz kisses him slowly and Simon clings onto him softly as if he'd never part from him again.
