Chapter 3 - Chapter 3: Gojo Satoru

Chapter 3: Gojo Satoru

Mei Mei gazed at the boy sitting on the ground.

Judging from his exhaustion and the cursed energy still clinging to him, she could hardly believe what she was seeing yet it seemed undeniable.

This child might have been the one who exorcised that nearly special grade curse.

Still, to be certain, Mei Mei decided to ask. After all, it was absurd a boy so young managing to destroy a curse of that magnitude. The burst of cursed energy she had sensed moments ago had been terrifying.

Yet the child before her said nothing. He simply stared at her in silence.

Mei Mei sighed softly. She wasn't used to dealing with someone this young especially a child clearly wary of her.

Forcing a gentle smile, she crouched down halfway and spoke in a calm, soothing tone.

"Don't be afraid. I'm a sorcerer who specializes in dealing with monsters like these. You can think of me as… a police officer. Now, little one, can you tell me what happened here?"

"...A sorcerer?"

Souta Enjou blinked, as if struck by sudden realization.

Something clicked inside his mind and then, all at once, he remembered.

Sorcerers.

That was what they were called in Jujutsu Kaisen.

In that world, negative emotions could give birth to curses and those born able to control their own cursed energy were known as sorcerers, responsible for exorcising those malignant spirits.

Yuanyi's mind raced.

In his previous life, he hadn't been a die hard fan just someone who watched a few movies and anime now and then. The memories of Jujutsu Kaisen surfaced gradually, piece by piece…

Mei Mei!

Of course that beautiful woman with white hair! Now it made sense.

"I… I reincarnated into Jujutsu Kaisen! My 'telekinesis' it's actually cursed energy. Does that mean I was born with a natural talent…?"

He recalled watching the anime when it was popular years ago he hadn't finished it, but he remembered enough.

As Souta Enjou's thoughts swirled, Mei Mei noticed his faraway stare. Her smile faded. She was about to speak again when the boy suddenly broke his silence.

"My name is Souta Enjou. A huge monster ate Sister Xiaochun… and I killed it."

Mei Mei followed the boy's gaze and saw Koharu Anzi (whom he called Sister Xiaochun) lying unconscious on the ground.

She approached and checked her condition.

"She just fainted. Not seriously injured the curse didn't harm her much. She only needs rest."

Turning back to the boy, Mei Mei exhaled softly a mixture of relief and curiosity. She stepped closer and, with surprising ease, lifted Souta Enjou up.

"I trust you for now. You handled the big one, and I've cleared the rest. Let's get out of here. Did you see any other survivors?"

Yuanyi told her about the two children still hiding.

Mei Mei nodded, effortlessly carrying him in one arm and the unconscious Koharu in the other. She walked out of the orphanage as if the chaos behind them were nothing more than a passing storm.

They passed through a shimmering curtain a barrier, he realized the kind sorcerers used to isolate their missions from the outside world.

Outside, Mei Mei placed them into a sleek black car before heading back into the tent. Moments later, she returned with the two children. They looked frightened but unharmed.

After ensuring everyone was safe, she motioned for Souta Enjou to rest. Once he caught his breath, Mei Mei leaned casually against the car, her tone soft but inquisitive.

"Someone will arrive soon to handle the aftermath. In the meantime… can you tell me everything that happened?"

Yuanyi hesitated, then began to explain carefully, selectively.

Now that he'd confirmed this was truly the world of Jujutsu Kaisen, a goal formed clearly in his mind:

He would enroll in the Tokyo Jujutsu High School.

He had no family, no mentor. Sorcery was a traditional art one couldn't progress alone, no matter how talented.

And more than that, there was one man he had to meet:

Gojo Satoru.

The strongest sorcerer in the world.

If he could study under Gojo, master his cursed energy, and grow stronger… that would be his path forward.

Mei Mei listened quietly, intrigued. The boy's explanation was simple, yet his raw power spoke louder than words. She patted his head gently.

"There are some snacks in the car. The police and medics will be here soon you should wait for them."

Yuanyi nodded, climbing into the car. Kumiko, one of the rescued children, shared some snacks with him, their small relief after the nightmare.

From the corner of his eye, he could see Mei Mei nearby, talking on her phone. Her voice was calm but her words weren't ordinary.

"Wu, you'll never believe this the half formed cursed spirit from the countryside? A kid exorcised it."

"Yes, really. He's awakened a technique. Seems to have instinctively learned how to use cursed energy and his reserves are… terrifying."

"Right. Come over once you're done there."

Soon, the sound of sirens filled the air.

Police cars and ambulances arrived, taking Koharu and the children away.

The barrier around the orphanage had already faded.

Mei Mei spoke briefly with the officers, then turned back toward the car.

As she slid into the driver's seat, Souta Enjou glanced out the window only to freeze.

Someone was standing outside.

Tall. Dressed in black.

White hair slicked back, and his face handsome, perfectly defined was half covered by bandages hiding his eyes.

Gojo Satoru.

The strongest sorcerer alive. One of the main figures of Jujutsu Kaisen.

Mei Mei opened the door and stepped out, signaling for Yuanyi to follow.

Gojo approached leisurely, hands in his pockets, posture relaxed but his presence overwhelming.

He stopped before the boy, head tilted, studying him through the bindings.

Then he straightened slightly, a thoughtful hum escaping his lips.

"Interesting… Souta Enjou, was it? You've got tremendous cursed energy. And you're already focusing and applying it instinctively without training. Impressive."

Yuanyi blinked, unsure.

"My… technique? What's that? Do you mean my superpower?"

Gojo chuckled and snapped his fingers.

"Exactly. That 'superpower.' Feel the energy inside you and show me."

Then, with a single smooth motion, Gojo lifted his hand and pulled down his blindfold.

The air seemed to freeze.

His brilliant Six Eyes glimmered a vivid, impossible blue that could pierce through reality itself, seeing every strand of cursed energy around him.

Under that gaze, Yuanyi took a deep breath. He raised his hand and activated his ability no, his technique.

The world slowed. Space seemed to ripple faintly around him.

Gojo's eyes widened just slightly a spark of genuine surprise flickering in their depths.

When the moment ended, Mei Mei tilted her head.

"So? What do you think, Satoru? His technique boosts his speed? I couldn't see it clearly."

Gojo crossed his arms, closing his eyes in thought.

"Not exactly speed. It's… more complex than that. I'm not a hundred percent sure yet but it's fascinating."

Mei Mei raised a brow. Few things could actually intrigue Gojo Satoru and this boy had just done it.

Gojo's lips curled into a bright grin.

He crouched down to meet Yuanyi's eyes and said cheerfully,

"Genichi you've awakened your technique. You're no ordinary person anymore. You, me, and this lovely lady here we're the same kind of people."

"There's a school for folks like us. It's full of fun, chaos, and the best teachers around. How about it? Come with us?"

Mei Mei sighed, rubbing her temple.

"Wu, please stop making it sound like you're kidnapping a child. And you know the school doesn't usually take kids this young."

Gojo smirked.

"He's already awakened. Leaving him out there is dangerous some curse users might come after him. We'll think of something… Ah, I've got it!"

He snapped his fingers again.

"Let's get him out of the orphanage first. If the curse users track him here, the whole place will be at risk."

He turned back to Yuanyi, who stared up at him, uncertain.

"What… what should I do now?"

Gojo grinned wide, his tone light and reassuring.

"Don't worry, kid. I'll handle everything even the adoption paperwork. The Gojo family doesn't take care of kids often, you know."

Sliding his blindfold back into place, he added:

"Anyway, this isn't a safe place. Come on I'll take you somewhere better."

Yuanyi nodded slowly.

Then, with mock seriousness, Gojo leaned closer and whispered,

"Actually… we are the bad guys, and we're totally kidnapping you."

Yuanyi just looked at him unimpressed. The flat, faintly disgusted expression on his face only made Gojo laugh harder.

Mei Mei smiled faintly from the side. Gojo was still Gojo powerful, brilliant, and just a little childish.

Then, without warning, Gojo placed his hand lightly behind Yuanyi's neck and the world shifted.

"Alright, Mei Mei! We're heading out first!"

"Don't forget my reward!" she called after him.

The next instant, the scenery around Souta Enjou warped and when it cleared, he was standing in a completely different place.
