Chapter 97 - Chapter 97 — Aria Runs Faster Than Security

Security guards on film sets had one job:

Protect equipment, protect people, and prevent chaos.

Unfortunately for them…

Aria Lane was chaos.

Living, breathing, snack-driven chaos.

And today, security would come face to face with their greatest nightmare.

Why Security Got Involved

After the Candy Vault Incident

and

after the Daughter's Candy Incident,

Production decided to issue a new protocol:

"If Miss Aria Lane is seen approaching ANY restricted area, alert security immediately."

This seemed reasonable.

Until Aria walked toward the equipment shed—

innocently—

curiously—

holding a half-eaten cookie.

A PA spotted her and screamed:

"SECURITY! SHE'S BREACHING A DOOR!"

Aria paused mid-step.

Julian, nearby, blinked.

"…She's literally just walking."

Daniel grabbed Julian's arm.

"DON'T DEFEND HER—THIS IS HOW IT ALWAYS STARTS!"

Security Arrives

Three guards jogged over.

Professional.

Disciplined.

Ready.

"Ma'am!" the lead guard called out.

"That area is restricted!"

Aria blinked.

"I wasn't going in."

Daniel whispered,

"She was absolutely going in."

Julian murmured,

"She probably was."

Aria continued chewing her cookie.

The security guards exchanged looks.

"Okay, Miss Lane. We just need to escort you back to the main area."

Aria blinked.

"…Why?"

"Protocol."

"What protocol?"

All three guards spoke in unison:

"YOU."

Aria nodded, accepting this logic.

The Moment Everything Went Wrong

A PA sprinted over, panicked.

"The director's daughter is running toward the stunt zone! Someone stop her before she trips on a cable!"

Security reacted instantly.

"Go!"

Two guards ran after Lily.

Three cables lay coiled across the floor.

Lily, tiny legs pumping, was heading straight toward them at toddler speed—which is to say, dangerously unpredictable.

Aria saw it.

Her eyes narrowed.

Her posture shifted.

Daniel screamed,

"OH NO SHE'S SWITCHING MODES—STOP HER—STOP HER—"

But it was too late.

Aria Moves

She didn't run.

She launched.

Fast.

Silent.

Precise.

By the time the guards took their second step, Aria was already past them.

Julian blinked.

"…She's gone."

Marcus from the stunt team shouted,

"She hit Mach 2!"

A cameraman dropped his lens.

"HOW DID SHE ACCELERATE LIKE THAT?!"

Daniel screamed in despair.

"HER POWER IS AWAKENED BY TODDLERS IN DANGER!"

Rescue: Zero Seconds Flat

Lily tripped.

Everyone gasped.

Aria appeared behind her—

seemingly out of thin air—

scooped her up one-handed,

and spun them both away from the cables with fluid precision.

Lily giggled happily.

"Wheeeeeee!"

Aria placed her safely on the ground.

"You almost fell."

Lily nodded.

"That was fun!"

Aria blinked.

"…No."

Security Arrives… Last

All three guards arrived panting.

"Where—

Where is she—

How did you get there THAT fast?!"

Aria looked at them blankly.

"I walked."

The guards blinked.

Daniel shouted,

"STOP GASLIGHTING SECURITY! YOU SPRINTED LIKE A SUPERNATURAL BEING!"

Julian covered his mouth, laughing quietly.

Security's Collective Breakdown

The lead guard exhaled shakily.

"Miss Lane… for our sanity… please give us advance notice before you run."

Aria nodded calmly.

"Okay."

Daniel muttered,

"That's a lie."

Julian nodded,

"She's definitely lying."

Security whimpered.

But Then Someone Makes a Mistake

One of the rookie guards whispered under his breath:

"…Bet I could outrun her."

Silence.

Marcus the stunt coordinator gasped loudly.

Daniel froze.

Julian looked horrified.

Aria turned her head slowly.

"You want to run?"

The rookie swallowed.

"I—I didn't mean—"

Aria stood up.

"Okay."

He panicked.

"No, wait, wait—"

But she was already preparing.

Security collectively screamed.

Marcus shouted,

"RUN, ROOKIE! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!"

The rookie sprinted.

Aria gave him a three-second head start.

Julian whispered,

"…Poor guy."

Daniel whispered back,

"He had dreams once."

Aria Begins to Run

She started lightly.

Jogging.

Gentle.

Then she accelerated—

and the rookie screamed,

"OH COME ON!!!!"

Aria caught up within four seconds.

Passed him.

Looked back politely.

"You are slow."

The rookie collapsed on the floor.

Security stared at her in awe and terror.

Marcus clapped.

"She's a natural."

Daniel sobbed,

"She's going to get us all fired."

Julian smiled warmly at her.

"You saved Lily. That's what matters."

Aria blinked.

"…She could have gotten hurt."

Julian nodded.

"You did the right thing."

Security nodded too.

Daniel cried louder.

Director Mason Arrives Finally

Mason ran over, panicked and breathless.

"I heard Aria RAN—WHERE—WHERE IS SHE—WHO DID SHE TERRORIZE TODAY?!"

Everyone pointed at the rookie guard on the floor.

Mason looked at Aria.

"You outran security?!"

Aria nodded.

"Yes."

The rookie groaned.

Mason screamed:

"STOP BEING FAST!!"

Aria blinked calmly.

"…No."

Everyone screamed again.
