Chapter 85 - As Expected

"I want to know what happened from the beginning. How did you manage to get blood stains on the chainsaw? It was perfectly clean when they first came." Helio asked while shaking her like Nada would do on a usual basis at the office.

"The chainsaw part was the most simplest task for them all! I paused time in order to do that." Aefia replied while holding onto the hood of her cloak which fell off. "And then, thanks to the pressure you had exerted, my wound started bleeding again and I just held it along the edges. That's all, nothing of concern."

"So I am guessing, you killed the man found dead inside the library today?" Helio asked while recalling the certain way she had smiled back at the Duchess.

"Yes, that was me. It wasn't an ordinary man of course, he was the mage. I killed Albert before he got the chance to approach Nada again." Aefia replied while her face starting draining their expressions. "But I think I had more reasons that made me want to kill him. I took revenge for Nada, her lady and myself. While also, I don't think that was the right thing to do."

"Alright, then answer me this, where is the first man who confronted you?"

"Why are you so interested into murder mystery? I killed him and he is laying dead on the snow at the base they probably were to meet at. But I have his phone." Aefia spoke as she held out the flip phone. "It shows that there are six people in his gang, but I doubt there is more to it. Gang members are smart too, and they always have back up in case they find a bigger price tag."

She scanned through the contact list and showed him the numbers that had been saved with the name 'Boss'. "Oh look! They are really just the members of a much bigger business, and I would like to find them out." Another one of those sinister smiles popped up on her face. "Maybe I should have a secret mission to keep me occupied...but not now. I believe the others are waiting for us with worries and concerns." She turned around.

"Hold on! What are you thinking about doing to the dead body? It is still there right? The police may launch an investigation around this area...and I saw how the Duchess looked at you in specific today. I fear she suspects you, so don't you think you should clean it up?" Helio grapped her wrist as she was almost walking away.

"Think about one thing than." Aefia said while holding a bullet which had blood strains on it. "If the only way to prove that a person is guilty by post-partum, would be by identifying the bullet or weapon used. From there, they will see who, what or where this weapon came from or who it might belong to. So meaning, the bullet is the root problem right? What if I take out the root and leave the rest of the plant to strive?"

"The plant dies." Helio replied. "So you want to use the body as a way to track down what? Their boss? You can't leave the office unless you are going to the library. Just what is wrong with you? This isn't Earth, so you might fall into any sort of problem."

"My problems are not you problem." Aefia spoke while trying to free her hand. "You might want to let go, I have a few glass shreds stuck on my hand." She said while holding out the clear glass pieces, slightly stained with still not dried blood.

"How...?" Helio asked while letting go of her hand. "Throw them! Holy water, what is wrong with you! This way, I am not healing you anymore."

"I don't care about that too, you may go enjoy your stay at Nikoan if you want. The glass shreds were my second plan, in case the first didn't work. I wasn't going to use them on harming myself, until you decided that I need to be out in a leash." Aefia replied while pocketing them instead.

"I really think you need a leash, you are becoming a real wolf like that. I didn't know a member of the Mafia would be this chaotic to keep out of trouble. How did the revenge thing even start?" He asked while grabbing her wrist and pulling her back to where their team was supposed to be.

"That fat man thought I was naive and slammed an object at me, which almost killed me because I was chewing candy back than." She finally replied as she barely managed to place her steps on the deep snow.

"And that is your reason?" Helio stopped and she slammed her face into a pole. "You couldn't ignore him? Just let him be, since you already knew he was a drunkard."

"Dear elder brother, use your mind properly!" She said while holding her nose and forehead. "Ignoring those kind of men, would only get myself in even more disaster. They look for trouble, but also why would I even give him something that is not worth the price? Instead, I wanted to ward him off, and he tried to gather his crew to help him kill me. And if it weren't me not doing anything, the next day the news will have a breaking headline stating 'Found Dead', and that won't be me but another person."

Helio stood in silence for a long time. "So it was all calculated to start with...nevermind, I should have known you were capable of handling it. But what about the time in the library? You weren't really inside when the gun was fired, so how did you assemble that part of the plan?"

"It was partially thanks to my skills...and a kid of course." Aefia said while rubbing her forehead. "A kid! Why would you hand a gun to a kid, they still have lives left to live! What sort of human are you?!" Helio asked while smacking his forehead with his palm.

"Relax, it was a fake one." Aefia spoke while laughing and moving forward. "The kid was just running around the entire library while pretending to shoot people around, and I found the toy sound extremely similar to revolvers. I simply went up to him and asked to borrow his toy, and in return, I will give him a candy. I had his gun put in one part of the library and tied a few of my strings to the trigger."

"Oh, phew...I thought you forced him to shoot it at the dead body." Helio said while slowly breathing out.

"What am I? A dumb person?" Aefia said while spinning around just halfway and flashing vibrant red eyes. "Oh right, I am just a kid who has a few loose wires, isn't that what you think?"

"Do you take it as a criticism? I didn't mean it it like that honestly." He replied while standing in a surrendering position and Aefia returned to her walking. "You know something? I think the reason why Nada was traumatized by you, was because of your eyes."

"What is the problem with it?" She didn't turn around, but she still covered them. "Your eyes turn scary as you turn mad. I think your element is connected to your mind and emotions. Maybe you should ask Puppet about it?" Helio replied while noticing how she was walking oddly. "You might want to watch out for the-"

Aefia slammed into another pole. "Ugh! I will uproot all of these street lamps!" She spoke while walking away and from it, but she was still covering her eyes. Then, slam! Again, she hit another lamp post, but only this time, she punched the pole with her fist. "God, rot this things!"

Helio laughed from behind. "It was completely your fault that you didn't see where you were going. Stop covering your eyes, there is nothing wrong about it, just control your mind." He said while grabbing her wrist to guide her along the way.

"I forgot to ask, but how did you extract that bullet?" Aefia looked at Helio with a questioned look, while replying with the word, "Skills?" But with a more annoyed look this time, "Just think about how else some one can pick things up. I had to use my threads for it, and a lot of skills in neurology of course. Though I have never liked studying biology."

"And did you pause time for that?"

"Yes, my time at least five hours for that." Aefia said as she recalled the stressful works. "But the most tremondous of all task was actually locating it. It went a little too deep then I expected it."

"You should have asked me about that then." Helio said while smiling. "I had a skill that worked exactly like a neurological surgeon itself. It could extract the bullet with ease without spending time with it. It takes me a split second and I had gotten that skill at Hellas thanks to you."

"Congratualations then." Aefia smiled but didn't move her eyes from the road. "You might want to prepare for a certain thing that is about to happen. I fear that...something or just someone is following us." She whispered, low but enough for him to catch.

"Why? Is it something dangerous?" He looked to the road in front too, while whispering back. "Not really...but they might be behind me. Not a confirmed statement, keep that in mind." She responded while pointing at their team at the front.

"Oh look! It's mom and the others! They must have been worried for sometime now." Aefia acted while pointing at Nada and Ms. Avry standing in front of a stall. Anasiy and Diego were in two separate shops and they all gathered into one place, everyone came to the place Ms. Avry and Nada were standing.

"Aefia...I suppose you weren't just exploring?" Anasiy said while flicking her hood off her head. "Explains why Nada finds you suspicious nowadays, isn't that so?" She took a look at her and the bleeding hand. "Exploring doesn't get anyone injured."

"It does if you find a cat stuck among the bushes. It was also why I had taken a huge time to come here, and another is, I just watched six men get arrested for trying to steal from the restaurant we just came from." Aefia spoke while pulling the hood back on. Insolent being, ask the next time please.

"Is that so?" She turned around to face Nada. "Hey, do you find her suspicious the the way she is speaking? You said you knew every tone she uses for any situations."

Nada fearfully turned her head towards Aefia, only to get a smirk back. "Wow Nada! I never knew I spoke with tones. Is this a new thing I just found out about myself? Brilliant, I will use it properly the next time." She spoke with a evil look on her face, which made Anasiy suddenly turn to face Nada.

She stood in place, shivering whether due to the cold or due to fear. Whatever it was, she was clearly afraid to speak the truth. If I go both ways, Anasiy will ignore me like I did to Aefia. On the other hand, Aefia might also ignore me, which scares me a little bit more.

"It's true, I made that up." Nada spoke with hesitation. Luckily Ms. Avry and Diego were busy with their own conversations. I deserve to be alone, I treated her that way too. Nada thought it herself. Anasiy looked with disgust at her and walked away.

She immediately dropped to her knees and looked down, and her tear drops fell onto the snow carpet and dissolved into it. A shadow fell over her and a touch was felt on her shoulder, which abruptly sent her head looking up.

"I don't think it is right to cry in public. You don't want to get embarrased, do you? Because I don't." Aefia crouched in front of her. "And, your clothes will get wet if you stay seated on the snow for too long." She helped her up and instantly let go of her. Nada looked at her with shock.

"Sorry about that...I am still adapting to this reconciling thing." She turned her head away, while planning on walking towards the others. "Wait! Aefia, I want to join a battle with you." She grabbed onto her arm which yanked her back, but enough to not slip. "You sure? You are too emotionally naive."

"I don't care! I will learn if you allow me. But I regret trying to stay away from you." Nada said while wiping her eyes. Aefia pulled her hand out of her grasp without hesitating and didn't even look back. "Don't worry, she is more merciful than you can see. It is just to see how long you will be able to stand her rudeness. I promise this is how it was for me too." Helio said while walking up beside her.

"You joined her in a battle?" Nada asked while looking at Aefia at a new angle. "Not just one, multiple and in some, she saved me and got herself into much danger for that. So if anything, she will make you beat a small hybrid wolf." Helio replied while smiling, trying to cheer her up.

"I still have a question about that thing. How do you participate in the battle? Its impossible to leave the office without Ms. Avry's permission."

"Oh don't worry, she may ask you to join her team, and we travel across dimensions to another world where we complete missions. I have a feeling that she is thinking about having you in the team, but she is just waiting for the right time." Helio spoke as he too moved away towards the others.

"To another dimension? So Aefia is currently doing something that...no one else knows about?" Nada spoke to herself in a very soft voice. "Then who or what is she? Nevermind, she must be in some other sort of secret organizations to protect us? Or why else would she be fighting off beasts? I still have a lot of questions but I can't just ask Helio anymore. I will ask Aefia by myself."

She breathed out and walked towards the crowd, specifically at Aefia. She let out a hand, but someone else approached her already.
