Of course it had to be her.
Adelaide stood there like some twisted queen holding court, her arms folded across her chest while that vicious smile spread across her perfect face. Two other women flanked her sides like loyal soldiers, their eyes gleaming with the same malicious hunger I'd seen before.
She looked at me the way someone might look at roadkill. Like I was something disgusting that had crawled out from under a rock.
Her heels clicked against the marble floor as she approached me slowly, deliberately. One perfectly manicured finger traced along my damp arm before her grip suddenly tightened around my wrist, yanking me toward the center of the restroom like I was some kind of trophy.
