Meryl's POV
"So when are you two actually going to tie the knot?" My stepmom's voice carried that familiar note of gentle persistence as she perched on the edge of my hospital bed. Her fingers kept fidgeting with my blanket, smoothing imaginary wrinkles. "The dress, the venue, the catering, Meryl. You haven't even begun planning. Do you realize how quickly these things book up?"
A tired smile crossed my lips as I sank deeper into my pillow. "We haven't even discussed a date," I confessed, exhaustion creeping into my voice. "Everything's been happening so fast. There hasn't been time to think about flower arrangements or menu tastings."
Her expression shifted to one of mild exasperation. "That's precisely why you need to start now. A wedding dress alone can take months to create. And finding a baker worthy of a future Luna Queen's celebration? The waiting lists are insane."
