Andre's POV
The conference room felt suffocating until Mr. Tom strolled through the door, wearing that infuriating grin he reserved for moments when he held all the cards. My nerves were already frayed beyond repair, and I had zero tolerance for games. All I wanted was to finish this nightmare and return to my baby.
Adelaide's head snapped toward the entrance, confusion creasing her features. "What's happening here?"
Mr. Tom completely disregarded her sharp tone, settling into his chair with deliberate slowness, as though savoring every second of her discomfort. He clicked open his leather briefcase and retrieved a pristine set of documents, sliding them across the polished table before meeting my gaze. I responded with a slight nod.
The moment Adelaide glimpsed the header on the first page, her entire body went rigid. She shot to her feet like she'd been electrocuted, her eyes jumping frantically between the papers and my face.
"What in God's name is this supposed to be?"
