Meryl's POV
After that morning's drama, Andre somehow managed to talk me into going somewhere with him. He wouldn't give me any details, just flashed that infuriating smirk and said, "Trust me on this one."
Since I had absolutely nothing better to do and was going stir-crazy anyway, I caved. Which is how I found myself buckled into his passenger seat, watching his strong hand rest possessively on my thigh while he steered with the other like we weren't heading toward some secret destination he refused to name.
"Seriously, where are we going?" I pressed, studying his profile as he navigated the streets.
That damn smirk deepened. "You'll find out."
"That's not even close to an answer."
"It's the only one you're getting right now."
I groaned and sank back against the leather seat. "Great. Then I'm just going to ramble the entire way there."
"You do that anyway," he said under his breath.
"Excuse me?" I shot back. "Speaking of which, any news on Adelaide?"
