Chapter 2 - Tetsumaru & Mei

-Tetsumaru, let's play!- shouted a gap-toothed boy. He was wearing old, somewhat ragged clothes, along with a group of six other children, all between the ages of four and six.

Tetsumaru, with black hair and eyes with black sclera, looked at the children with boredom. He was sitting on a windowsill, overlooking the bustling city of Musutafu.

Next to him, a girl with reddish-brown hair was reading a book with total concentration, ignoring the children of the same age who were chatting idly.

-Maybe another time, guys. Go on before the time is up- Tetsumaru replied in a tone as bored as his expression.

-Tch, it's always like that with you. Don't you get tired of always being glued to Mei? Play with us, you're a boy!- one of the children retorted with clenched fists. The group nodded in agreement.

In the children's minds, not wanting to play ball and spending your time with girls was considered strange.

Receiving no response from the boy with the strange eyes, the group mocked the pair and left to play.

The girl named Mei turned a page in her book and commented lazily. -You know, playing ball won't kill you.

-Wearing makeup won't kill you- Tetsumaru replied. The girl rolled her eyes.

-I'm four. I don't need makeup. And I never will anyway- Mei said.

This back-and-forth continued for a few minutes until this section of the orphanage was empty. Noticing this, Tetsumaru closed his eyes and concentrated.

Slightly opening his mouth, a mass of black particles surged out like a cloud of insects. They also streamed from his open palms, mixing into a denser cloud.

The Iron Sand, Satetsu, formed ripples over itself, changing its surface to a smoother one, then an uneven one, into spheres, squares, pillars, rectangles, triangles, and a variety of other two- and three-dimensional shapes.

Mei Terumi frowned.

-Hmph, it's annoying that your Jiton can be used here- the girl complained.

These orphans were none other than the same individual reincarnated into two bodies by a strange deity.

Tetsumaru, who embodied the form and powers of the Third Kazekage of Sunagakure, and Mei Terumi, who embodied the Fifth Mizukage of Kirigakure.

Two bodies, one split soul. One condemned to live as a woman, in his opinion, and the other with an appearance he shouldn't have had.

Tetsumaru's dark sclera was due to the God's opinion that it simply looks better that way. Who were they to tell no to the entity that could send them to a hell where they'd be turned into femboy onaholes?

But although both embodied these Kage in both appearance and power, there were some changes, improvements, and restrictions.

For Tetsumaru, he was gifted three storage seals with a ridiculous capacity to store his Iron Sand, but with the condition that they could not be used to store anything else.

One on each palm and the third on his tongue, giving the illusion that his Satetsu is produced by his body. Additionally, the three seals are fully charged with that sand.

In contrast, his vast Kage-level chakra reserve was restricted to growing only up to the limit of the Kazekage himself, which was quite a lot, but nothing crazy like an Uzumaki or a Jinchuriki. Furthermore, its use was limited to his own body and controlling the Iron Sand.

That means no Shadow Clone Jutsu, no Fire, no Water, no Earth, no Lightning, and no Wind Release, even though his Magnet Release technically works with Wind and Earth.

Something similar happened with Mei. She was given three high-capacity storage seals, the ones in her hands containing water and the one on her tongue containing lava that would never cool.

That was more of a reinforcement than anything else, since her Kekkei Genkai already allowed her to generate both lava and steam. As compensation for turning him into a woman, the God decided to also allow her to use Water Release.

However, not everything was so easy.

They were granted an innate ability to manipulate their powers, but they were not given specific Ninjutsu, Genjutsu, Fūinjutsu, or techniques.

-Having great power and another chance to be better is one thing, but knowing how to use it is something you must learn on your own- he had whispered to them in their dreams.

They would have to figure out how to develop some techniques or perfect their manipulation to the extreme, to the point of not needing hand signs.

But that wasn't the worst part. It didn't matter having the power of a Kage without the techniques to back it up. It didn't matter that one of them was turned into a girl. None of that mattered compared to the fate that awaited them:

School!

As children in this world, they would have to attend school, again.

************************************************************

The first days were not easy at all. That strange God sent the shinobi in the form of babies, leaving them at the orphanage gates in a box with a note that listed their names: Mei Terumi and Tetsumaru.

Why not be born into a rich family? Or a family to begin with?

They didn't get a celestial answer for that, but they assumed it was due to some redemptive crap about growing up from the lowest, most humble background and still doing good.

Because the God's intentions were clear to both of them.

They were thrown into this world of Heroes and Villains to become Heroes, protect people, and do good. Basically, he wants them to become a Spider-Man or a Superman.

Would they defy the Deity? They seriously discussed it. But they concluded it wasn't worth it.

Why would they go against the wishes of a God? Neither of them wanted to risk falling into that pit of sperm and swollen anuses called hell. Even if the God was only joking about the fate of bad people, they had already confirmed that an afterlife existed, and they saw the damned gates of heaven.

How stupid would they have to be to see the gates of paradise but deny the existence of the underworld?

This and other reflections filled their minds during the first years, when they couldn't do anything but eat, shit, and sleep. When even opening a door was impossible.

At this point, it was clear: they were going to become Heroes because, whether they wanted to or not (and they didn't), it was either go with the flow or lose their second chance.

-Stop thinking so negatively, Tetsumaru! We have pretty crazy powers, and I doubt this lousy world can pose a challenge for two Kage!- Mei encouraged her other half through their unique link.

As one soul in two bodies, there were a few small tricks like this that came by default.

-Mei. We never watched My Hero Academia because it was trash, but like any shonen, I'm sure the power scaling goes to hell, and there will be very powerful guys we won't want to fight- the black-haired boy warned.

The girl scoffed but didn't deny his claims. Although neither of them had watched the anime beyond a few episodes, they hadn't embodied Madara, or Hashirama, or some Otsutsuki.

They had the potential to grow to the level of an S-Rank Shinobi, but they weren't. They were not Shinobi.

They had their power, but they were not its original owners. That already cost them some important points.

As they walked in casual clothes, they arrived at their destination. A kindergarten.

Due to the maturity of 17-year-olds they displayed to their caregivers at the orphanage, they were given the freedom to go on their own. Having the minds of near-adults led their caretakers to believe they were both responsible and good-natured children.

Just as they entered the facility, they saw a recognizable, greenish-haired brat, with a shy expression and passive demeanor, chatting and running after a small, blonde, trouble-tornado.

-Holy crap!- the shinobi thought in unison."
