Chapter 1 - CHAPTER 1: 'HIS DREAM'

⟳⟳⟳

Two blue stars shone brightly, glimmering in the night sky. Stranded in the vastness of space, they watched over a marvelous blue planet brimming with wonder. Drawn to its beauty, The stars began their journey toward the planet, their light growing ever brighter as they approached..

It was a cold Snowy Tundra, somewhere in the Earth.

It was a frozen tundra, somewhere on Earth. A biting wind swept across the barren white, carrying snow that danced through the air. Beneath its howl, another sound broke through—steady, rhythmic.

Footsteps.

A lone figure pressed forward. Itoshi. His long blue hair spilled down his back, eyes glowing with a crimson intensity that cut against the pale landscape.

He stopped atop a snowy rise, the forested wasteland stretching endlessly before him. Pulling down the scarf from his mouth, he exhaled a cloud of breath.

"Dang... it's cold." His words vanished into the wind.

Then—something else. A whisper, unlike the storm's voice. His ears twitched.

Startled, he hissed: "What the hell was that?!"

Spinning around, his crimson gaze widened. A woman stood behind him. His hands trembled, confusion flooding his mind.

The woman's features were hard to make out—her form was hazy, almost unreal—but one thing stood out to him: her long, flowing hair, though he couldn't discern its color in her shadowy form.

She reached a hand toward him, silently beckoning. Yet what etched itself into his memory most vividly were her eyes—strange, mesmerizing eyes. They were not the same. Her left eye glowed with a soft, bluish hue, while her right mirrored his own—deep, fiery red.

And then—blackness.

He jolted awake. Just a dream.

As he sat on his futon confusion twisted in his chest. Who was she? Why had she come to him, someone he had never seen before? "Have I met her?" he wondered. "Was she one of the women I've messed with? I... I can't remember."

His breathing grew ragged, louder, echoing through the silence of his small, grimy room. Sweat clung to his skin as the dream lingered, refusing to fade.

The silence was broken by a sudden voice outside his room—a young girl calling out.

"Koya! Breakfast's ready!"

He shook off the remnants of his dream, got dressed, and joined her at the table. She glanced at him as he sat down, noticing the change in his demeanor.

He wasn't his usual calm, "cool" self. It didn't happen often, but when it did, she knew something was stirring—something new.

"What's wrong, Koya?" she asked gently.

He hesitated for a moment, then replied, "Just a dream."

A quiet pause settled between them as she continued eating, the clink of utensils filling the space between their thoughts. Then Itoshi spoke again.

"Kara... have you ever seen a girl with one blue eye and one red?"

She frowned thoughtfully. "Hmm... I don't think so."

"Ahh, I see..." Itoshi replied quietly, pushing his chair back. "I'm gonna head out early."

Kara blinked in surprise, watching him stand. "Already?"

She pouted, her voice dropping to a mutter as she stared at his untouched plate. "He didn't even taste the bacon... took me a while to find that..."

The dazzling countryside breeze of Okinawa swept through Itoshi's long, striking blue hair as he made his way to high school. The morning air was fresh, the sky clear, and the rustling of leaves carried a certain peace—until familiar voices broke through.

"Hey, Itoshi!" one of the bystanders called out with a grin.

He was Mr. Rosales."You're already drinking beer early in the morning, Mr. Rosales.." Itoshi said.

"Force of habit," Mr. Rosales replied with a shrug.

"Hoh? Someone's missing... where's your sister?" he added, glancing around.

"I left early. She's still at home," Itoshi replied.

Mr. Rosales raised an eyebrow, curiosity creeping into his tone. "Ehh? Did you guys fight or something?"

"Nah... I just left early," Itoshi said casually.

"Oh, I see... I was about to give you some old man's advice," Mr. Rosales chuckled, leaning back with a grin.

The man sitting beside Mr. Rosales—also sipping from a can—chimed in with a sly grin.

"Ahh... so, Itoshi?"

Itoshi glanced at him, wary.

"When are you gonna marry your sister?" the man asked, his voice thick with teasing.

Itoshi snapped.

His eyes flared, and his calm vanished in an instant.

Itoshi groaned, not even stopping. "Shut up!" he snapped without looking back.

Laughter echoed behind him as he walked off, his cheeks slightly flushed—not from the wind this time.

He arrived at Yomitan High School—a junior high, despite the name. On his way to their classroom, Itoshi was greeted by his only male friend, Hishiki.

"Sup" Hishiki said casually.

Itoshi replied, "Yo, good morning."

But Hishiki immediately noticed something was off. His friend looked tired and distracted, like something heavy was weighing on his mind.

"You okay?" Hishiki asked with concern.

"I'm fine" Itoshi answered quickly.

"No, you're not fine" Hishiki shot back. "You didn't even bring your bag to school."

Itoshi's eyes widened. "Shit!"

Hishiki laughed. "I'll cover your lunch if you tell me what's going on."

With a sigh, Itoshi recounted the dream—the mysterious woman with mismatched eyes. Hishiki listened intently, then scratched his head, equally puzzled.

"Man... who do you think she was?"

"Oh well... It's just a dream, It's probably nothing." Hishiki added.

The bell rang, signaling the start of class. Students shuffled to their seats, the chatter slowly fading as the history teacher began the lesson.

After a few moments, Itoshi's eyelids grew heavy, and he dozed off. The image of the mysterious woman—the one with mismatched eyes—played over and over in his mind.

Suddenly, he gasped and abruptly stood up, startling some nearby classmates.

"Kiyagari-san, are you okay?" the teacher asked with concern.

Itoshi replied, "May I go to the bathroom?"

The teacher nodded, and Itoshi hurried out of the classroom.

Inside the quiet bathroom, he faced the mirror. He tied back his long blue hair, then splashed cold water on his face.

Confused and restless, he whispered to himself, "What the hell is happening? Why am I so stressed about a girl I've never even met? Just thinking about her sends shivers down my spine."

As Itoshi left the classroom earlier, he didn't notice five students from another class quietly following him. These were the school delinquents, known troublemakers.

"Shit," Itoshi thought, "these delinquents... but unfortunately for them, I'm one too."

Suddenly, one of the boys—a short brown-haired kid with sharp brown eyes—stepped forward, sneering.

"Oh, look! It's the handsome blue emo.. What could you be doing out here alone?.." he mocked.

Then Itoshi bluntly replied.

"Pissing?"

Itoshi then took a deep sigh before he spoke once more, shrugging eyes closed.

"I guess gay's don't know what real men do in the toilet."

The boy snapped and he lunged his fist to Itoshi. He reacted quickly, jumping back and climbing onto the sink. Without breaking his cool, he kicked the attacker hard—all while keeping both hands in his pockets.

The other four tried to swarm him, but Itoshi was too fast. Using the bathroom walls and doors to his advantage, he expertly took down each of them one by one.

With all five sprawled on the floor, Itoshi muttered, "Oh f*ck... Kara's gonna scold me again. This is all your fault."

He kicked and spat on the boys before heading back to class, trying to shake off the adrenaline.

Once back in the classroom, he sat down and quietly resumed the lesson.

~~~Lunch Break~~~
The bell rang, signaling lunch break. Itoshi and Hishiki found a spot by the basketball court and sat down. Hishiki had bought lunch for Itoshi, who thanked him quietly before they began to eat.
After a few bites, Itoshi suddenly said, "I'm in trouble."
Hishiki grinned. "Finally, something normal from you. You've been so quiet today. Usually, you'd be roaming the campus looking for trouble."
Itoshi rolled his eyes. "Alright, alright, man."
"So?" Hishiki prompted.
"It's nothing crazy—I just beat up a few kids in the bathroom" Itoshi admitted.
Hishiki's eyes widened. "Bro, that sounds so wrong. Oh well, your wife's gonna kill you."
Itoshi shot him a glare. "Man, stop. Kara's my roommate, okay?"
"I didn't say any names" Hishiki teased, a smug smile on his face. "Why Kara?"
"Tsk" Itoshi grumbled.
Suddenly, Itoshi stood up. "I'm gonna buy some drinks."
"Ah, you're not gonna wait for your wife?" Hishiki called after him.
"Man, stop!!" Itoshi shouted as Hishiki laughed loudly.
As Itoshi walked away, a girl with striking long blue hair and bright cyan eyes called out loudly to Hishiki.
"Hishiki-senpai!!!"
Itoshi froze for a moment, then quickened his pace.
"Hey!! Itoshi!! Your wife is here!!" Hishiki called out with a grin.
"Oh? Koya is here?" Kara asked, smiling slyly.
Hishiki just laughed, watching Itoshi disappear down the path.
~~~Yomitan Incident~~~

While Itoshi walked through the halls of the campus, Kara and Hishiki sat nearby, chatting quietly about their day—and about the mysterious woman from Itoshi's dream, both were clueless and both tried to figure something out.

Suddenly, a loud siren pierced the air, echoing throughout the surrounding area.

"Warning: Seelies incoming from the mountains are heading toward this area. Please be cautious and take immediate action," a calm female voice announced over the loudspeakers.

Itoshi rushed outside, heart pounding, and quickly found Kara and Hishiki.

Itoshi heard his friend's urgent voice:

"Kara! Get to safety! I'll wait for Itoshi!"

Before they could react further, a colossal Seelie appeared—an enormous shadowy figure outlined in eerie green light. Towering at least three times the height of Hishiki, the creature's presence was overwhelming.

Time seemed to slow between them. Itoshi's eyes widened, his gaze locked on the monstrous beast towering before them, its shadowy form outlined in eerie green.

Every detail of the creature was etched into his mind—the sheer size, the crushing grip around Hishiki's neck, the deadly silence hanging in the air.

In an instant, it seized Hishiki by the neck.

The sheer strength of the Seelie was impossible to fight. Itoshi lunged to help, but the creature's grip only tightened, crushing Hishiki mercilessly.

Hishiki gasped, struggled—but the life drained from him as the Seelie's grip became fatal.

"Itoshi.. Run" Those are the last words Itoshi heard from his only friend.

Chaos erupted as smaller Groß-class Seelies swarmed the school, tearing through students and leaving devastation in their wake.
