The doctor walked in, her expression somber, foreboding. Slavvy jumped up from his seat, his eyes blazing with worry, his massive frame towering over the medical staff. "How is she, Doctor? Is she going to be okay?" he asked, his voice low, menacing, and laced with a hint of desperation.
The doctor hesitated before delivering the devastating news. "I'm sorry, but her condition is deteriorating rapidly. The more she stresses, the more her organs are shutting down. I'm afraid she only has three months left." The doctor's voice trembled slightly, betraying his fear of Slavvy's wrath.
Slavvy's face twisted in rage, his eyes flashing with a deadly intensity. He looked at me with a mixture of horror and desperation, his gaze burning with a fierce possessiveness. "Is there nothing you can do to save her? Anything?" he growled, his voice dripping with malice, his fists clenched at his sides.
The doctor took a step back, intimidated by Slavvy's demeanor. "I'm sorry, there's no cure for her condition." The doctor's eyes darted nervously towards Slavvy, anticipating his explosive reaction.
Slavvy's anger boiled over, his face reddening with fury. "Then what are you doing here? Aren't you supposed to save people? You're a doctor, for blue's sake!" he bellowed, his voice echoing off the hospital walls, causing the medical staff to cower in fear.
The doctor trembled, terrified of Slavvy's wrath. "Slavvy, please-" she stammered, but Slavvy cut her off, his voice rising to a deafening crescendo.
"Get out! You're useless! Get out of here before I make you regret ever crossing me!" he roared, his eyes blazing with a fierce intensity, his massive frame looming over the doctor like a specter of death.
The doctor fled, tears streaming down his face, as Slavvy's anger continued to simmer, his chest heaving with exertion. I felt a shiver run down my spine as Slavvy turned to me, his eyes still blazing with fury, but also with a deep-seated longing.
"Slavvy, listen to me, please," I begged, my voice shaking with emotion, as I reached out to touch his arm, trying to calm him down.
He looked at me, his eyes filled with regret and a deep-seated longing. "I'm going to die, and there's nothing nobody can do to save me, okay? Know that and let me be, please." His voice cracked with emotion, betraying his vulnerability.
But Slavvy's face contorted in anguish, his eyes welling up with tears. "I'm being dramatic here, I rushed you to the hospital with fucking tears in my eyes, swirling all over the road to have a moment with you again, and you call this dramatic?" he spat, his voice venomous, his hurt and betrayal evident.
A pang of regret hit me as I realized the depth of Slavvy's emotions. He was a complex, brooding man, driven by a fierce passion and a deep-seated loyalty. I felt a surge of guilt, knowing that I had hurt him deeply.
He sniffed, looking at me, his eyes red-rimmed. "I'm sorry I kissed Ashly. I really am. But I'm not the one who's acting up much more than you are right now. You kissed Haze, and you didn't see me shouting and causing scenes." His voice was laced with hurt and accusation.
I felt a surge of remorse, regretfully acknowledging my mistake. But Slavvy's words cut deep, exposing my own vulnerabilities. "You changed my life, Tess," he whispered, his voice barely audible. "I was in total darkness before I met you. My world was absolutely hopeless." His eyes locked onto mine, burning with an intense passion.
"And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying this for you to have sympathy or pathetic sorrow towards me. But I want you to know that it's been a month since we met, but to me, it feels like I've known you for eternity." His voice cracked with emotion, his words pouring out like a confession.
As Slavvy spoke, his words wrapped around my heart, squeezing tight. I felt a surge of emotion, my heart melting at his words. "Imagining a life without you is killing me," he whispered, his voice trembling with emotion. "Because I know I'll struggle to breathe at night, all over these demons in my head." His eyes locked onto mine, burning with a fierce intensity.
"You brought light into my life, and the day I saw you, even when I sleep, I'll always call you, because I feel a sense of light and joy in my soul."
"But seems like my mistake was too hard for you to bear," Slavvy whispered, his voice laced with hurt and regret. "I guess if we were together, you would have given up on me." His eyes searched mine, seeking answers, seeking forgiveness.
I felt a pang of regret, knowing that I had hurt him deeply. "Sla-" I called out to him, but he turned and walked away, leaving me feeling shattered and alone.
I'm so dang stupid. It was just a kiss, maybe I'm not angry that they kissed, but angry that he's falling into the trap Ashly set for him. I'm so stupid. I wiped away my tears, trying to compose myself.
The day passed by in a blur, and all I could think about was Slavvy and what happened at the mall. How he bravely came out to those men to save my life. I wondered if Mrs. Brocons was okay; they must be worried sick about me. I hadn't been home for 24 hours.
I looked out the window, watching as the birds flitted about, their songs filling the air. Sometimes it rained, and other times it was sunny. It had been three days since Slavvy last came to see me. Had he gotten over me? Did I lose my first love over my arrogance?
When all hope seemed lost, Slavvy walked back into my hospital room, wearing his signature black attire. He had a brown bag in his hand, and his eyes still looked a little angry. But as he looked at me, his expression softened, and he smiled slightly.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled, feeling ashamed of myself.
"Get dressed, and let's get out of here," Slavvy said, his voice low and husky, sending shivers down my spine. He handed me a beautiful black dress, which fit perfectly, showcasing my curves. He also gave me a stunning cross necklace and a lock necklace with a little note.
The note read: "I'm sorry I haven't come to see you in 3 days. I thought you needed some space, but even if you might hate me, I'll still love you. Now come down with a smile, and I'll be waiting for you."
My heart melted at his words, and I felt a huge smile spread across my face. I got up, feeling a sense of determination. Since it was pointless to stay in the hospital, I might as well spend my remaining time with Slavvy.
As we walked out of the hospital, the bright sunlight hit us, and Slavvy's eyes sparkled with amusement. He looked incredibly handsome, and I felt my heart skip a beat. He opened the door to his sleek black Range Rover, and I slid in, feeling a sense of excitement.
"Are you ready for the best time of your life?" Slavvy asked, his eyes glinting with mischief, and I nodded, my heart racing with anticipation.
