Six Months Later
The morning of the wedding dawned clear and golden.
Shadowfang had never seen a celebration like it. Packs had come from across the northern territories, invited as friends and allies, filling the rebuilt halls with laughter and music and the bright colors of a hundred banners.
The eastern wing, once a scorched ruin, rose new and beautiful in the sunlight, its pale stone catching the dawn.
Garlands of white blossoms hung from every arch. The old oaks where the pack buried its dead and celebrated its living were wound with ribbon and flame-lily, and beneath them an altar had been raised for the joining of an Alpha and his Luna.
They had been mated already, but this was different. This was the ceremony the whole pack had demanded, the grand and public declaration that love had triumphed over everything that had tried to destroy it.
This was Willow becoming, officially and before all the world, Queen Luna of Shadowfang.
