Willow stood outside Dorian's door for a full minute trying to gather the courage to knock while her mind ran through all the things she should say when she saw him.
She would tell him no this time and mean it. She would tell him that she couldn't do this anymore because it was killing her slowly from the inside out.
She would tell him that being his breeder was one thing but being treated like she was nothing afterward was another thing entirely and she wouldn't stand for it.
She had the words all planned out in her head and she repeated them like a mantra as she raised her hand to knock.
She could do this. She could be strong. She could protect what was left of her heart before he destroyed it completely.
The door opened before her knuckles could make contact and suddenly Dorian was there filling the doorway with his presence. Her carefully prepared words instantly died in her throat.
