Chapter 109 - Chapter 110: Zone

Lubo was silent for a while before saying,

"Your mainland main law is speed.

One of the restrictions is the one you're familiar with.

Creatures with one level higher than their manager can't enter the zone, and Creatures with the same level as the Mainland manager can't join it with their universe.

Most mainlands are like this until they change to another kind of mainland.

If I remember correctly, there won't be any specific restrictions on the level of creatures in that version of the Mainlands.

But what's special about this mainland is that no other mainland can catch up with it because the speed law favors it.

And from what world law just said, the mainland in this zone seems to be able to bet on itself if it has a guardian, because the guardian law is mixed with the world law in this zone."

Little Mortal listened carefully and wrote everything in his notebook.

Then he waited for Lubo to tell him about the enemy mainland.

He waited for 10 minutes, but he didn't hear anything.

So, he closed his notebook, put it in his pocket, jumped up, and disappeared into the sky.

A brief moment later, a hole appeared on the silver platform, and a brief moment after that, the planet started shaking with the planet's core as the source.

Little Mortal's shouts echoed through the planet from there,

"Were you answering like world law?

You dare to send me a private message?

Are you mocking me for not having a mobile phone to receive messages?"

And Lubo's angry shouts,

"Are you crazy!

I didn't send any private message!

I didn't even say anything!"

The older team members knew this little monster actually guessed the reason for Lubo not saying anything.

The reason was probably one of the restrictions from the enemy mainland that forbade it from saying anything.

But with the knowledge they had of this little monster, they knew he was looking for a reason to beat up this 'evil birth treasure'.

First, to show the newcomers that even Lubo can't mess around here, and he is the real Final Boss.

And second, to show Lubo and the rest that he still can send them to the afterlife even with the 'Frontline effect' protecting them.

Like what he almost did to the poor solar system manager when he disrespected him.

...

After an hour of beating, when Lubo's voice had completely stopped, the planet stopped shaking too.

Even world law triggered and sent an emergency message to the 'guardian' and his followers to save the treasure at the center of the planet before it dies and puts the whole planet in danger!

Seeing him almost kill Lubo, the birth treasures remembered something else.

Lubo actually tried to make a move on him a couple of days ago, and due to that, he mistook it with the 'bad luck' from his lucky coin...

Everyone knew this little monster never forgets his grudges with others!

Now, he was probably taking revenge for what Lubo did!

There was no other reason behind it, just a simple lesson for a naughty team member!

Some time later, after three more warnings from world law, Little Mortal, while huffing and puffing, came out of the hole he had gone in.

The 'dead' puppets stood up and went back to their seats in shock!

All of them thought the rest were dead, and they were the lucky ones to survive the lightning!

But it turns out he was messing with them all the time...

Now they weren't sure about what they thought before.

This little monster was really unstable.

What two different personalities? What plan?

He was a menace with power, doing whatever he wanted...

Little Mortal's gaze stopped on his new birthday gifts, who had just joined the team and were now hiding far away.

Seeing his gaze, all of them flew back immediately and 'sat' on their seats while shivering.

Little Mortal, with a cold and indifferent face, said,

"This is my territory!

Traitors don't have a place here,

And the act of betrayal won't be tolerated!

Do you... Understand?"

And all of them 'nodded' or vibrated to say they understood...

They didn't even know what happened all of a sudden!

Why did he become so violent and just attack that scary Lubo!?

Little Mortal continued,

"A week from now, I might leave for a period of time.

For how long?

I don't know.

But,

I want you to behave while I'm not around..."

He pointed at the puppets,

"Do you see them?

When I'm done with them, they will be judged!

Fairly!

Without any bias!

I'm sure you know their ending in that case.

Their sins are too many, too heavy, and there is no forgiveness for them!"

Then he pointed at the birth treasures,

"And you!

You were their partner in crime for billions of years!

But,

I assume you were just a tool,

Forced to obey!

However,

Now, you have a choice in front of you!

I know you already found out that if I'm not around,

You have a certain degree of!

So,

Use it to redeem yourself,

Or,

Use it to join your masters in their eternal trip to hell!

The choice is yours."

Then his eyes narrowed, his face became full of hatred, and he said word by word,

"But,

I guarantee you!

If there is an afterlife!

If there is a hell for you parasites!

Even after death,

I will find you again,

And I will make you pay for your crimes!"

Little Mortal's speech ended.

The place turned deathly silent.

The only sound to be heard was the melodious sound of the wind passing through the crystalline mountains.

But nothing was pleasant in the ears of the crowd at this moment under this heavy atmosphere.

The puppets knew if he lived, then their fate was already sealed.

Death was the only ending that awaited them.

And the birth treasures knew he gave them two choices.

Die with their masters, if their loyalty knows no bounds,

Or,

Help him on his journey, without any bad intentions,

And survive in the end.

Little Mortal then said to the guardian token,

"As you saw, my test was successful.

From World Law's feedback, which asked me, the 'guardian', to go and save Lubo, we can be sure that Lubo is officially on our side now, and I can be the guardian of Night Planet or any other planets.

By the way, I'm not in the mood or have the time for Night Planet's ceremony, so let's go with whatever world law recorded."

Lubo thought to itself,

'Like hell you tried to see if I'm in your team or not!

And you call that a test?

I almost died!'

The guardian token's mechanical voice sounded,

[Affirmative.]

The birth treasures became even more confused now.

Did he really beat up Lubo so that the world law doesn't see it as a threat, and he becomes Night Planet's guardian?

Should we believe that?

Or did he indirectly prove to the world law that the evil birth treasure in the planet's core is nothing threatening to him, the guardian?

He showed everyone that even the strongest existence in Guardian territory is killable!

While going inside the backpack, Little Mortal said,

"Deliver Fortune Teller's underlings that my special force captured in Night Planet to those puppies and bloodsuckers,

Let them judge them with their own law."

The backpack trembled.

Inside the backpack, God of Adventure kept asking his backpack what was going on outside, because they felt the special aura from Entertainment Goddess, then the black lightning, and then the fight at the planet's core.

They wanted to know if they should run or not.

However, the backpack no longer responded to them.

It was going to ask Little Mortal if it's fine for its master and Divine Doctor to take two level 7 spots, but it didn't dare to say it now that his mood had suddenly changed.

It thought it's better to ask when he is in a good mood.

As serious and unpredictable as he was while angry,

He was the opposite when he was in a good mood.

The backpack was sure that if it asked him at the right time, it would receive a positive answer.

Anyway,

While the birth treasures were questioning their own judgment about Little Mortal's actions,

The sky turned dark, and the journey of the guardian, Night Planet's version, played for everyone to watch.

It seems the world law is now fine with Lubo's existence.

God of Prophecy was the most eager to see how the planet under his control was taken.

When he saw the process,

He could only admit that the plan was indeed clean, secretive, and coordinated.

The little monster placed bombs everywhere that his connections were and blew up all the altars.

He even took over the two families before the mass explosions, and they became his special force and followers.

His own special force captured everyone from his side and ended the 'world invasion.' In the end, the evil birth treasure, Lubo, took away the Night Planet, while Little Mortal ascended to the Mainland.

God of Prophecy couldn't blame himself.

No wonder even his law of prophecy was incapable of warning him until the end.

No wonder he thought Mortal was on the mainland all the time.

His opponent had so many overpowered birth treasures on his side!

The best thing his law of prophecy could do was to warn him about the newborns.

But how was he supposed to take these weak and helpless newborns seriously?

Before attending their 'ceremony', they were kept in the facility and learned a harsh lesson from the outsiders.

They were Level 2 or 3 at most, with no birth treasure.

He never thought that the most dangerous creature in this 'zone' would be a newborn...

The Night Planet's ceremony ended.

The puppets were sent back to the prison cage.

At this moment,

The backpack's lid opened, and someone came out.

Nobody paid attention to the newcomer, though,

Until a passage suddenly opened.

The space mirror just received an order from the connection it had with the Guardian token.

And it responded without thinking.

The birth treasures looked at the passage,

And saw the back view of a man,

in a black suit, with black leather gloves,

Bald head, and guardian token in hand,

Left through the passage.

Who was he?

Where was his destination?

The space mirror, which just opened the passage, checked the destination,

And they found out that the other party went to

Assassin God's main planet.

It seems the 'speed-run' has begun!

...

Somewhere in outer space.

A passage opened, and a bald man stepped out.

In his view, it was an oval planet.

The shape was close to flat ground, and only one side had flickering lights on it.

It was like the view of a city or a country from high up in the sky at night.

The bald man in his black suit kicked the space, and his figure moved towards the center of the flat-looking planet, where it had the most flickering lights.

As his body gets closer to the planet's atmosphere,

A big city comes into view.

The biggest city on this planet.

City of Assassins.

From the sky, you could see that the city was built on a hill-like terrain, divided into distinct areas with walls surrounding each one.

There was an area at the top of the hill, surrounded by a large wall and featuring a statue hundreds of meters tall, situated at the highest point of the hill.

The statue that everyone knew and worshipped.

The statue of Assassin God, the god they believed in and had faith in.

You could see the statue from anywhere in the city.

Outside the walls of the central area, at a lower altitude,

There were three additional areas, separated from each other by walls that formed a ring around them.

This was the City of Assassins, if you could call it one, because it was as big as a country.

Each area was stretched like a circle around the central area and hosted a certain level of creatures.

The outermost ring was for level 1 creatures, the two inner rings were for level 2 and 3, and the center was where the legendary level 4 creatures reside.

The function of this city was clear to everyone.

The outer part was the entry that accepted the creatures coming or being delivered from outside.

Depending on their talents and what level they were at,

The instructors would send them to different parts of the city.

Then they would be trained there to become the 'soldiers of God'.

If you were a level 1, after advancing to level 2, you could go to the next inner area.

And it was the same for other levels until they reached the center of the city, where they met God, and then became the real 'God's soldier', the highest level of honor anyone could attain.

What after that?

No one in the city knew, except the planet manager that no one ever met, or knew of its existence, until they reached level 4.

....

In the outer city, the area of level 1 creatures,

A bald man appeared.

This part of the city was like a modern civilization, with advanced technology, but it seemed abandoned.

The streets were dirty,

The people seemed tired, suspicious of everything, and extremely vigilant.

The bald man was now looking at a cafeteria in front of him, which was completely out of place compared to the environment around him.

There were all kinds of creatures happily talking and drinking inside this clean and high-class cafeteria as if completely separated from the dirty neighborhood outside.

The bald man asked,

"Which one is the manager?"

And a mechanical voice sounded,

[All of them are clones of the Dark Elf.]

The bald man didn't say anything after that and just stood there in silence.

After a while, a man walked past, who seemed to be a postman.

When he passed by the cafeteria, the bald man's figure was no longer visible.

...

Inside the cafeteria, a woman with dark skin, pointed ears, and green eyes was studying some information she had received.

She seemed to be a dark elf, and the only one in the cafeteria who seemed to be doing something out of place.

The dark elf lady,

Looking at the new updates in her hand, furrowing her brow, muttered to herself,

"There is still no new 'delivery' from outside to bring recruits, and the weird 'miracle', which the younger generation of our assassins can't kill each other anymore, is still in effect..."

She then sighed and looked outside,

"My lord... What are you trying to do?"

While in her own thoughts, she heard the 'bell' at the front door ring.

Looking at the door, which closed by itself,

She raised an eyebrow, and many thoughts came to her mind.

Then she heard someone saying,

"Your package has been successfully delivered to your address.

Could you please sign here to confirm receipt of the delivery?"

And she signed the paper that just appeared in front of her without thinking.

After signing it, her eyes suddenly widened in shock,

Because only after signing the paper did she see what the context was!

It was a request to participate in the competition to become the planet guardian.

And she was shocked because, while she didn't know anything about this 'competition' or 'planet guardian', she felt that what she had just signed was something legitimate, and she had just allowed it.

World Law was directly involved with whatever had happened just now!

She hastily looked around to see who had given her the letter, but no one was around.

Then she heard the bell ring again.

When she turned to look at the door, it was already closing again.

She only saw a bald postman leaving!

She first sighed in relief, because the paper she had signed was still on the table in front of- wait!

"Where is the paper?"

She looked down at the table in front of her,

But the paper was gone!

While panicking, she rushed outside to find the postman.

A strong aura surged through the city, from the bottom area to the top.

Everyone's hair stood on end when this aura scanned them.

It didn't matter if they were a level 1 newcomer in the outer area or a level 4 veteran at the center!

Everyone kneeled and began praying towards the large statue of the man in a cloak, the Assassin God, at the top of the hill.

They thought God was here to punish them.

But it didn't matter how carefully the lady looked,

She couldn't find the postman.

It was as if he turned to water and sank into the ground, completely gone.

Now her heart was beating unusually fast.

She went back to her cafeteria and tried to contact

someone with a special device.

After a while, a hologram appeared above the device.

A lady in a black cloak appeared.

But the connection seemed to be unstable for some reason.

She was the same level 5 assassin who was responsible for guarding the door to the 'war ground',

And later on, signed a contract with 'Assassin God',

Which turned out to be a certain 'guardian'.

The reason for her connection to be unstable was that she was one of the floating creatures close to the Entertainment Goddess and was interrupted by this emergency call.

The dark elf lady, without any extra words, said in panic,

"I just signed a paper that made me agree to something nonsense!

I-I don't know why I signed it!

I don't even know who gave me the paper!

Was it our lord?

Is he testing me?

Do you know anything about this?"

The lady in a black cloak asked impatiently,

"What was the context?"

And she answered,

"To let the one who gave me the paper participate in a competition to become something called 'planet guardian'!"

The lady in a black cloak was silent for a brief moment, then said,

"That was probably 'my' lord.

Don't worry about it."

And hung up without a second delay.

The elf lady was perplexed now.

She started chewing on her nail in frustration while muttering,

"What did she mean by don't worry?"

She tried to contact her again, but she was now on her blacklist.

The creatures living on this planet didn't know, but she knew well.

That so-called god was actually a petty higher being,

Who just wanted to train elites to use them for his 'bets' on the war ground, or for his personal use.

The level 1 creatures didn't have a use for him,

But levels 2 and 3 were future soldiers,

And many of them actually came back from the war not long ago, and all of them went silent for an unknown reason.

Level 4 creatures were the law generators for him,

Kept in the center area of the city, and in a never-ending illusion that 'god' himself put them in.

Only a couple of lucky level 4 creatures were responsible for managing the war ground; the rest lived in an illusion of immortality and absorbed law for Assassin God all the time.

But in the long term,

There was no good ending for anyone here.

The only reason she was different and not under his influence was that she, like the other lady that she just contacted, was both level 5 and couldn't be brainwashed like the rest.

But everyone else in this city was under the influence of this petty 'god' all their life...

A couple of hours later, while she was dying from stress,

She heard the bell hanging in front of the door ring again.

Someone came in again?

The dark elf lady, manager of Sneaky Guy's main planet, was speechless.

This cafeteria was supposed to be invisible in everyone's eyes!

How is it that people are coming in left and right today?

Then she heard the same voice from before,

Which said the same thing,

"Your package has been successfully delivered to your address.

Could you please sign here to confirm receipt of the delivery?"

And as before, she signed the paper without thinking,

And, as before, it was only after signing that she realized what was written on it.

It was a paper that stated she confirmed the candidate for the guardian position fulfilled all the conditions.

Then, like before, she looked around to find the fake postman, who naturally just went out and closed the door while she only saw a bald head,

And the paper, which had disappeared with him like last time!

The Dark Elf lady sighed in relief.

Now she was sure that all of this was an illusion.

Her lord, Assassin God, was testing her.

Her panicked face, upon realization, returned to normal.

A knowing smile appeared on her face.

However, just to be sure her guess was correct,

Like last time, she rushed outside.

If she couldn't find the Bald Postman again, it meant she was indeed in an illusion.

But when she stepped outside, like everyone else in the city, her heart jumped to her throat!

"What in the Assassin God's name is happening?"

First, high up in the sky, a big hole was opened.

The other side of the hole was a planet.

Not an oval one like theirs, but a round and humongous one!

Four moons were orbiting around it, which wasn't important at all at this moment.

What was important was the large black hand emerging from the center of this massive planet towards them.

Like everyone else in the city, she turned towards the center of the city and began praying to the Assassin God for protection.

Just one look at the black hand was enough for her to know nothing but God could stop it!

But,

When they turned around, there was no statue at the highest point of the city!

The crowd panicked even more.

And in the middle of all of this,

The sky turned dark, too, and while they heard a 'booming' genderless voice in their ears, their vision turned dark.

[Congratulations to the Assassin Planet for choosing its guardian, known as 'Agent Morty Meven', to protect the planet and its creatures, for as long as it exists.]

Then there was another 'Boom' and the back of a bald head appeared in the darkness.

The genderless voice spoke again.

[Now, all living beings of Assassin Planet, behold the hardship and suffering of your new guardian, on his long journey of fulfilling the six conditions to become the planet guardian.]

Then the bald head disappeared, and the so-called journey of the Guardian began to play.

It started with the outer part of the city, which was familiar to most people.

A cafeteria, that no one, except a handful of high-level creatures, knew about, came into view.

A bald postman walked forward and entered.

Then he went to a dark elf sitting behind a table, placed a paper in front of her, and said,

"I am a Secret Agent, code name Morty Meven, from IGA, International Guardian Agency.

Please sign my documents, planet manager.

I'm here to take over the guardian position."

And the lady, who saw this scene, and was yelling in her mind,

'That wasn't what you said!',

Signed the paper.

The bald postman, from the agency no one had ever heard of, picked up the paper and left.

From start to finish, the audience only saw his back view.

Everyone under level 4 wondered who the lady was. Planet manager?

And what this agency and guardian position that they never heard of was about?

The scene changed.

The bald man walked through the outer city,

Went to a dark alley and then stopped in front of an iron door.

He waited there for a while until a man in a black cloak appeared.

Many recognized the place and the line of work this man in a black cloak was in.

That was a place for buying and selling information, and the man was an informant working there.

The man, who seemed not to see the bald postman, stopped in front of the door and knocked on it in a certain way, like a secret entrance code.

A small part of the door opened, and two eyes looked outside,

"Oh, it's you, come in."

The scene changed again.

The man went inside, and when he took off his cloak, a bald head came into view.

The bald informant entered a room filled with shelves and booklets.

He stood there, tapped something on his waist, and after a short moment, he took out a notebook and wrote on a page,

[How to enter the next layer:

- Advance to a higher level and ask the main instructor for promotion.

Or

- Defeat the instructor, take his/her place, and gain access to the next layer as an instructor.

How to change the rules in this layer:

- Become the instructor

Conclusion:

It's necessary to proceed as an instructor.]

Then he flipped to another page and wrote,

[Sneaky Parasite Main Planet's trait:

1. Oval shape

2. Life only exists on one side

3. Coach assistant technique won't work here

(Probably the same for the other parasite's main planets.)]

Then he put the notebook in his pocket and left.

The audience now became interested.

This new baldy was actually going to take over the instructor position?

Does he even know how scary that guy is?

The instructors are always at level 3 or even 4,

Who can do anything to them?

Everyone thought this guy was delusional.

And what happened to that bald postman from whatever agency?

The scene changed.

A tall 10-floor building that everyone recognized came into view.

The bald informant was standing in front of the building, just looking like a normal citizen.

A black car suddenly arrived.

Four men came hurriedly to the car and waited respectfully.

The audience recognized the car and even who was going to come out of it.

It was the instructor's car.

After a brief delay, which made the four bodyguards slightly frown, the instructor walked out.

Today, he was bald.

Why did he suddenly decide to shave his head?

No one knew, and no one dared to ask.

The 'camera', with the back view of the bald instructor, started moving towards the building.

The audience was puzzled now as to what they were watching.

Bald postman, Bald informant, Bald instructor...

The bald instructor, on his arrival, ordered to gather all those who were related to the laws of the outer city.

In no time, an emergency meeting was held.

Many other known people from this part of the city gathered, but they were all dressed in black cloaks, with their faces hidden, making it hard to tell who was who.

After everyone gathered, the bald instructor asked for the 'Book of Law', and they gave him one.

He tapped something on his waist, and then, without even opening the book, a new Book of Law appeared in his hand.

Then he said,

"Read the changes I applied."

One of the members of the meeting

Picked up the new book and read it for the rest.

The instructor himself stood up and, under the stunned gaze of the people at the meeting, started serving tea to everyone.

Then he went back to his seat and sat down.

After they read the important changes that were applied to the old laws, and the new ones that were added,

He asked them,

"What's everyone's opinion?"

One of the members,

Who was in a black cloak like the rest, and you couldn't see his face, said,

"Instructor, none of these laws can be implemented.

How can we stop the 'pit' completely?

If we don't throw those kids inside to see which one comes out alive,

How can we find any real talent?

And—"

He was going to continue, but the bald instructor raised his hand and interrupted him,

"Have some tea.

You talked so much, your throat should be dry by now."

The man paused for a moment, then said,

"Yes, thank you."

And drank his tea in confusion.

After that, his head dropped on the table.

For some reason, he fainted all of a sudden!

The hidden faces of the rest turned pale!

'What just happened?'

And they didn't need to wait long to receive their answer indirectly, because they heard the instructor saying,

"Please forgive me,

I didn't hear what he just said.

Can someone repeat it?"

The crowd gulped.

They looked at the new law,

Which was going to change everything,

And then at the man that they didn't know if he was dead or alive, because there was no aura coming from his body anymore, and they shivered.

They had secretly planned to point out the ridiculous problems these new laws had,

And each one of them was supposed to point out part of the problem so the instructor wouldn't get mad at only one of them.

But with this new development, they didn't know what to do.

He actually asked for 'police' in the city, for schools, for clean streets, and many other things that they had only seen on their previous planets.

None of these had a place here, a city that was functioning in a way to produce assassins.

But now,

The first to oppose the new law was silenced right before their eyes...

No one dared to say anything.

They would think about it later.

Seeing nobody speak, the bald instructor said,

"Now that everyone agrees, have some tea then.

We can end the meeting after that."

The crowd's hearts started beating wildly in their chests,

And stared with fear at the teacups in front of them.

Most of them made excuses and didn't drink the tea,

And only a few started drinking with trembling hands.

After they were done, the bald instructor stood up and walked out while saying,

"I go to the inner layer.

You can execute the new laws immediately.

From now on, you and everyone in the city are my followers."

The crowd stood up and said,

"As your order, instructor."

But then, they looked around them in confusion.

Why did only a few of them accept the order?

And their eyes widened in shock the next moment.

Those who didn't respond were now unconscious, or maybe dead, like the first person who drank the tea!

But this time, all those who didn't drink their tea were the victims!

The people in the meeting, the ones who didn't 'die',

And the audience who were watching,

All understood what had just happened.

The tea was a test of loyalty!

Those who trusted the instructor and drank the tea,

Lived!

Those who didn't die!

Simple as that...

Sweat covered everyone's forehead.

The remaining ones looked at their hands and saw a token was there.

The audience wondered how that bald man could even deal with this overpowered bald instructor- wait!

The instructor was bald, too!

The informant was bald too, and so was the postman!!

And nobody saw the face of any of them!

Only those who were on the scene saw them, and they all thought he was one of them!

A pattern began to take form in everyone's mind.

Now they knew that whatever they were seeing was probably all about the activities of one organization, with the same distinctive appearance for its members.

Bald head, with code names.

The secret agency called IGA, International Guardian Agency, was on the move!!
