Chapter 15 - chapter 15

"Please sit here as I go handle the procedures for you" the concierge staff led her to a comfy couch then went away. The bodyguards stood behind Flora and Tempest.

"Well well well If it isn't Tempest Laurasia, wait, you aren't a Laurasia anymore" a male voice rang out.

Tempest, who was busy scrolling through her phone looked up.

"My oh my, you look even more beautiful since you left the house" a female voice rang out.

Tempest saw that it was her younger step sister and her boyfriend. Her step sister was called Stella McCartney but since she took the Laurasia surname, she was called Stella Laurasia. Beside her, was Scott Evan Menroe from the Menroe house.

Tempest looked at them calmly.

"Fancy seeing you here" Tempest said

Tempest's gaze hardened as Stella Laurasia strutted towards them, her arm looped possessively through Scott Evan Menroe's.

Stella's voice dripped with venom, loud enough for the polished marble walls to echo her disdain.

"So this is where you've fallen, Tempest? Browsing cars you can't afford, after leaving the Laurasia family broke?" Stella sneered, her designer heels clicking like punctuation marks to every insult.

Scott, tall and sharp-eyed, leaned against a gleaming black coupe, his smirk a silent echo of Stella's cruelty.

"Quite the downgrade," he murmured, his tone casual but cutting.

Tempest straightened, her aura calm yet commanding.

"Funny," she replied, her voice steady, "I see you still measure worth by borrowed surnames and borrowed wealth. Stella Laurasia, Scott Menroe—two shadows clinging to names, not strength."

Stella's eyes flashed, her pride wounded. "Don't act superior. You walked away with nothing."

"I walked away with freedom. And unlike you, I don't need a family name or a boyfriend's house crest to stand tall."

The duo's smiled faltered. The bodyguards behind Tempest and Flora tried their best not to laugh at them. The other customers in the dealership watched with eagerness.

"Manager! Call the management immediately. This dealership cannot allow broke nobodies to tarnish its reputation!" she declared, her chin tilted high, her words dripping with entitlement.

Scott Evan Menroe folded his arms, his smirk widening as if Stella's cruelty were entertainment. The sales staff shifted uncomfortably, caught between the clash not knowing how to help the situation.

Tempest did not flinch. She remained calm and still as if the confrontation had nothing to do with her

"You mistake dignity for wealth, Stella. You mistake presence for privilege"

Stella's lips curled into a cruel smile. "You'll always be beneath me, Tempest. This place is for people who matter."

Tempest's gaze locked onto hers, unwavering. "And yet, here you are—so desperate to prove you matter, you had to drag me down to feel tall."

Stella's anger burned hotter, her voice sharp and loud. She wanted Tempest thrown out, but Scott stepped in with a sly grin.

"Let's settle this with a bet," Scott said simply. "We each buy a car. Whoever buys the more expensive one wins. The loser must kneel and parade through the dealership."

Stella's eyes lit up at the idea, her pride swelling. She turned to Tempest with a cruel smile. "Perfect. I'll enjoy watching you crawl."

Tempest sat calm, her voice steady. "If wealth is your measure of worth, then let it be so. But remember—kneeling in shame is heavier when pride is the only thing holding you up."

"I bought a red Lamborghini Huracan. A V10 spots car costing a total of $600,000. How about it?" Scott Evan Menroe said proudly his chin lifted with confidence

The surrounding customers whispered. The earlier customers who were in the Jud luxury car dealership when Tempest arrived already knew which car Tempest bought. They could only pity the duo and spite them.

Stella Laurasia and Scott Evan Menroe wondered what people were whispering about.

As if on cue, the concierge staff who was assigned to her returned with the proper documentation.

"Miss, here are the documents for the Ferrari Purosangue. Please sign here and write the number or letter you would like on the plate number on the car.. you can write however you want it to be..."

The couple froze.

"Wait, hey! How much has she paid for the Ferrari Purosangue?" Stella demanded from the concierge staff.

"Miss Grooks paid $890,000 for the Ferrari Purosangue. Please miss do not interrupt me" the concierge said then turned back to Tempest.

Tempest signed and then wrote the plate number to be six 4's.

The concierge staff took the document and went to finish with the procedure.

Tempest leaned in the couch

"So, you lost the bet." Tempest said with a cunning smirk. Tempest looked at, Nina, the robust bodyguard. Nina moved forward efficiently and pinned the couple on the ground

"Are you going to honor it? Or do I have to force you?" Tempest said.

The duo paled as if they were ghosts.

Scott and Stella resorted to threatening.

"You think this makes you better than me?" she spat, her voice trembling with fury. "Don't forget—you walked away from the Laurasia family. You're nothing without us."

"Enjoy your little victory, Tempest. But remember—names like Menroe and Laurasia don't forgive humiliation. We can make sure you regret this."

Tempest's eyes narrowed, her voice calm but sharp. "Threats are the last refuge of the weak. You lost fairly, and now you cling to fear because pride cannot bear the truth."

The duo crawled away when Nina released them.

"That was a pleasant show" Flora finally spoke up with a smile on her face

"They are like flies. Looking for trouble everywhere they go" Tempest said calmly then added "but if they come again, I won't be as forgiving"

"Well there isn't a need to be forgiving, is there. Don't pity then at all Tempest"

After finishing everything, they got into the cars and drive back home.
