Chapter 1 - PILOT - CHAP 1

Chapter One — Pilot

The war between the Heavenly Realm and the Demon Realm had gone on for longer than anyone could remember. After many years of fighting, one side finally won.

The Heavenly Realm lost.

The Demon Realm celebrated their victory.

But even though they were defeated, the Heavenly Realm refused to give up. They were ready to do anything to destroy the Demon Realm, even if it meant breaking the laws of time.

"She is inside," a white-haired man said to another white-haired man. He handed him an orange, glowing bulb.

"You will need this to control her."

"Mn."

The second man nodded, took the bulb, and walked into the dark prison.

The place was filled with thick, black water. It was completely dark, but he could walk on the water because he was an immortal.

To see clearly, he created a small blue flame in his hand.

As he walked deeper into the prison, he finally saw what he came for.

Chained to the ground by strong purple chains was a giant purple fox.

It was covered in wounds. All nine of its tails were weak and barely moving. Even in that condition, it still looked powerful.

The moment the fox felt someone coming, its eyes opened sharply. It growled and tried to break free from the chains.

The immortal stared at it with cold, emotionless eyes.

Then he squeezed the orange bulb in his hand. It broke immediately, and the glowing liquid inside rushed toward the fox.

Instantly, the fox vibrated as it screamed in pain. The immortal stood unbothered as he walked closer to the fox.

"W-what do you want from me, you bastard?" the purple fox cursed, its eyes glowing slightly with rage as the immortal remained stoic to its pain.

"There is nothing a worthless demon like yourself can give to someone as great as I am. Yet there is something you will do for me."

"I would rather die than help you so-called gods. Over my dead body!" it shrieked.

"Tsk." The immortal clicked his tongue. "If death is what you want so badly, then I will grant it but I never said I would grant it to you."

He waved his hands slightly, bringing forth, out of thin air, a mirror-like device. Inside it were images of different foxes identical to the purple fox, all chained down. They were shivering in fear, wounded and terrified.

The fox's eyes widened immediately as its body trembled, not in fear, but in rage. An anger it wanted to release with all its might.

"What are you doing to them?"

"Them? Oh? Now you can speak… ha! Well, I just happened to find the hidden packs of your fox family. It would be nice to see how amusing it would be to witness a fox massacre. After all, it is nothing compared to what you evil demons have done to the Heavenly Realm."

He placed his hands back into his robe and turned away. "Since you are useless to me, I will make sure your death is the most painful and so will be that of your family."

The immortal took a step to leave, but suddenly stopped.

"Fine! I will help you! I-I will do whatever you want me to do! Just please let me go and let my family go too… I'm begging you!"

He smiled and turned back the moment those words were heard. "Finally. It took long enough. You truly are one stubborn fox. Ah, you are precious.. the only remaining nine-tailed fox still in existence. Your kind is the rarest of all, the only fox demon capable of doing the impossible… turning back time."

He walked closer.

"You will do something very important, demon. You will go back in time back one year from now. But for humans, three thousand years will have already passed. You will go and find a boy. You will find him and kill him."

"Why do you want a child dead?" the fox questioned.

"A child? Well, demon, that child would one day become the one thing that makes the heavens bend and shake. So he must die. He must die."
