Chapter 1 - Awakening of Haki

The world of Naruto—

Behind the Hidden Leaf Village, the tall trees pierced through the clouds, lush and green as far as the eye could see.

The setting sun cast a warm glow over the clearing behind the mountain, filling the air with a tranquil and peaceful aura.

Yet within this serenity stood a small figure, one that seemed completely out of place.

He held his hands before his chest, fingers changing position rapidly, as if performing a series of hand seals.

"Clone Technique!"

Poof!—a puff of white smoke burst out, and another small figure appeared beside him.

"Substitution Technique!"

Another set of hand seals—another puff of smoke—and this time, a wooden log replaced his body.

"Success! I've finally got the Three Basic Techniques down. With more training, I'll definitely get better!"

The boy was around seven or eight years old, his name—Leo.

A faint smile appeared on Leo's face, a smile that carried a hint of satisfaction… and a maturity that didn't belong to someone his age.

He had arrived in this world several years ago—

A world of ninjas, five great nations, five great hidden villages, and countless mysterious techniques known as ninjutsu.

That's right—this was the world of Naruto.

Leo had once loved this anime, dreaming of learning ninjutsu, acting cool, and playing the hero.

Carrying sacks of rice, shouting "Shinra Tensei!", or doing the "Night Guy" kick—he had fantasized about it all.

But when you actually transmigrate here, you realize just how cruel this world really is.

The time period he found himself in wasn't during Naruto's generation, but much earlier!

Right now, only a few years had passed since the death of the Second Hokage. The Third had yet to earn the title "Professor of Ninjutsu." The Legendary Sannin weren't famous yet, the Yellow Flash was still in the Ninja Academy, and the Hyūga brothers had just graduated.

There were so many figures still waiting for their names to enter history.

If his guess was right, this was one or two years before the Second Great Ninja War.

The war hadn't started yet—but it could break out tomorrow, or even today.

And once it did… someone like Leo would be nothing more than cannon fodder.

After the death of the Second Hokage, Konoha's middle ranks had been gutted. Neighboring villages were sharpening their claws, waiting for a chance to strike.

Why cannon fodder? Because of both strength and status.

Aside from the five great hidden villages, there were countless small ones scattered across the ninja world.

Leo came from one of those minor villages—a village that, three months ago, had been wiped out over a resource dispute.

He'd barely survived thanks to the timely arrival of Konoha's rescue team.

Konoha took in the few survivors, granting them a small district within the village reserved for refugees from other lands.

Because Leo showed some aptitude for ninjutsu, he was admitted to the Ninja Academy—a rare stroke of luck.

But Leo knew one truth:

In this world, everything has a price.

Konoha trained him only so that when war came, he could be the first to charge onto the battlefield—spilling his blood for the Leaf.

In times like these, no one blinked at sending a teenager to war.

That's why Leo knew—he was cannon fodder.

He had no powerful clan, no Kekkei Genkai. His talent was… average—not trash, but nothing special.

So, from the moment he entered the academy, he trained relentlessly. Every single day, every single moment—driven by one purpose: to survive this chaotic world.

"Enough thinking. Time to keep training."

As the sunset dimmed, Leo shook his head and stood before a wooden training post.

The top of the post was deeply dented—a mark left by his countless punches and kicks.

If talent was ordinary, then he'd make up for it with hard work. He had crossed worlds; he refused to die so easily. If he had to live again, he would live gloriously.

Looking at the bandages wrapped around his hands and ankles, Leo took a deep breath, then—BAM!—delivered a powerful kick to the post.

"One… two… thirty-five!"

Sweat poured from his body like rain. Pain surged through his legs, especially his ankles—sharp, throbbing pain—but he didn't stop.

He gritted his teeth and kept going.

When his legs were finally numb, nearly useless, he collapsed against the post, panting.

After a brief rest, he stood up again. This time, he worked his arms.

"One thousand straight punches!"

"One thousand hooks!"

"Five hundred elbow strikes!"

"Haah—!"

He finally fell flat onto the grass, utterly exhausted.

The night sky stretched above, scattered with a thousand stars, dazzling and serene.

"What a beautiful sight… If only this weren't an age of war," he murmured with a faint smile.

"Ding! Detecting host has trained himself half to death. System spirit resonating—binding to God-Tier Pirate Treasure Chest System!"

"Binding complete! Congratulations to the host for becoming the owner of the God-Tier Pirate System! First-time login reward: Starter Gift Pack. Please sign to claim!"

"???" Leo froze.

After a brief moment of existential confusion, he croaked out, voice trembling with disbelief—

"Sign… sign!"

Poof!

A golden treasure chest appeared out of thin air, hovering silently in front of him.

The scene looked exactly like finishing the final boss in a game and triggering the reward chest.

Leo shot up from the grass, all fatigue forgotten, eyes wide with excitement.

It wasn't a hallucination!

Hands trembling, he reached forward and opened the golden chest.

A flash of white light burst forth—so bright he had to shield his eyes.

When the light faded, a single golden card floated inside the chest.

"Three Colors of Haki Comprehension Card — This card allows the host to instantly comprehend all three types of Haki. Use now?"

Leo's mind filled with this short description, but even a few words were enough to make his heart race.

His lips trembled. "Use!"

At his command, the golden card shone and dissolved into motes of light, merging straight into his forehead.

In that instant, knowledge surged into his mind—Armament Haki, Observation Haki, Conqueror's Haki—their mysteries unraveling one by one.

The sensation was indescribable, like a flood of enlightenment washing over his soul.

When he finally came to, his body still shivered from excitement, eyes glowing with awe.

"I actually… comprehended all three types of Haki… This is unbelievable!"

In the world of One Piece, Haki was a unique power system—one that rivaled the might of ninjutsu itself.

Armament and Observation were one thing… but even Conqueror's Haki? That was supposed to be one in a million!

Only those born with the spirit of a true king could awaken it.

Could it be… that he possessed the will of a king?
