Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: The Magic Man's First Appearance

Diana, after leaving her home, walked two or three blocks downstairs and soon arrived at a retro-style coffee shop not far from her place.

As it was dinner time, there weren't many people in the coffee shop, and Diana quickly spotted the person she was meeting.

In a quiet corner by the window, a middle-aged woman with slightly wavy long hair, wearing sunglasses, and in her early forties, was sitting there.

"Ma'am, what can I get for you?"

The tall and fashionable Diana immediately became the focus of attention in the shop. Even the young female cashier's eyes lit up, and she politely approached with a menu to ask.

"Just a hot coffee will do," Diana replied with a smile, then gracefully sat down on the chair opposite the woman in sunglasses.

"Diana Prince, long time no see." The middle-aged woman took off her sunglasses, her eyes holding an indifference colder than winter.

Diana nodded slightly: "It truly has been a long time, Barbara Minerva." Seeing this former colleague, friend, and enemy again, her mood was inevitably a bit complex.

"Twenty-odd years have passed, and you're still exactly the same as back then, you haven't aged. Should I say it's truly befitting of a descendant of a god?" Barbara chuckled, watching Diana's perfect and familiar face, then self-mockingly said: "Ever since I lost my Cheetah abilities and reached a certain age, my face has inevitably gained crow's feet, my body is deteriorating and losing its shape day by day, and my skin is no longer as tough and elastic as it once was."

"Are you still hung up on what happened back then?"

Diana frowned slightly and asked directly: "So, that's why you secretly slipped my old photos into my home?"

Barbara leaned back and couldn't help but laugh: "No pleasantries, just getting straight to the point? It seems you care a lot about that child."

Diana neither confirmed nor denied, stating seriously: "He's just an ordinary person."

"Exactly, that's why I slipped in the photos."

Barbara's expression became a little more mocking: "You are a high and mighty goddess, flying through the sky and earth, immortal. Yet, all these years, you've adopted an ordinary human child? What is this, trying to completely integrate into our World? Don't be ridiculous!"

By the end of her speech, she stood up, slamming her hands on the table, her emotions agitated, looking at Diana with immense resentment and anger.

Diana remained composed, her long legs tilted and pressed together. Even sitting quietly in the chair, her aura was not shaken in the slightest by Barbara.

She was silent for a moment, then softly said: "I, ah, was originally utterly disappointed and hopeless about humanity."

"What are you saying?" Barbara's face was full of confusion, but she eventually sat back down.

Diana glanced at the snow-covered street outside the window and continued: "Until, sixteen years ago, on that Christmas night..."

..."What's happening to me?"

Vincent looked at his hands in disbelief. He tried to stab his arm with a metal knife and fork, but his skin was incredibly tough. Only when he exerted force could he feel a tiny bit of pain, but then, the sharp tips of the knife and fork bent before his skin did!

He suddenly remembered that his aunt had never been injured in over a decade.

"No way."

Vincent seemed to understand everything in an instant. He instinctively looked up, and what greeted his eyes was naturally the ceiling of his living room.

But over the years, the ceiling, which he remembered as always being simple and empty, now conspicuously displayed a silver longsword, a dark gold round shield, and a set of wild-looking female armor, all of which shouldn't have been there, hanging right in the center?

These mysterious items, which shouldn't have existed, were all strung together by a shimmering golden rope, with peculiar and luxurious circlets, silver bracelets, and golden knee pads tied to both ends!

"They weren't nonexistent," Vincent murmured.

Perhaps they had always been there; he just couldn't see them before, and now he could.

Vincent instinctively reached up. The moment his fingertips touched the golden rope hanging in mid-air, the rope immediately transformed from solid to ethereal, until it completely vanished.

"Huh?"

Vincent suddenly realized something was wrong. The sword and shield, along with the armor, which had been hanging from the rope, all fell in a free-fall after the golden rope integrated and disappeared!

Vincent was a bit dumbfounded, but his reactions and speed were already extraordinary. He immediately reached out to catch them, his body movements almost becoming afterimages.

What was even more unexpected and frustrating for him was that as soon as his hands caught the circlet and silver bracelet, they seemed to integrate directly into his body, fastening themselves onto his forehead and wrists respectively.

???

Vincent's mind went blank as he looked at the female armor he had already caught, able to foresee what would happen next—

Not this, please!!

No matter how much Vincent resisted in his heart.

In the next instant.

Vincent inevitably put on the armor's top and short skirt. His original clothes were nowhere to be found, revealing his arms and thighs that were not covered by the armor.

Wearing this in winter would surely be freezing, but perhaps due to his now special physique, Vincent didn't feel cold at all. Instead, after putting on this primitive and wild armor, the blood in his body boiled like lava, and a feeling of wanting to shout, draw his sword, and go into battle surged into his heart!

Thump thump thump!

Vincent vaguely heard drumbeats, as if from ancient times, stirring his blood.

Who is beating the drums?

No, Vincent suddenly realized. There were no drums; it was clearly the strong, powerful beating of his own heart!

"So hot!"

Vincent couldn't help but exclaim. Wearing this armor unique to the Amazon tribe, his bloodline abilities also began to fully awaken.

He felt that within his body, there was an indescribable power, or rather, energy, flowing almost tangibly beneath his skin!

Vincent, at this moment, naturally didn't know that he now possessed the Power of a Demigod!

Hiss!

The surging and powerful divine power within him could not be controlled, and there was no place to vent it. Finally, it all rushed upwards.

In the living room, Vincent could be seen clenching his teeth, with the round shield on his back and the longsword in his hand. Destructive white light overflowed from the strands of his inky black hair roots.

Just a few strands of white light escaping into the air shattered the nearby light fixture's cover into powder! The divine power, almost condensed into a materialized energy, caused his short hair to grow at an extremely fast rate, and turn from black to white, wildly falling onto Vincent's lower back, shoulders, and face.

With long silver hair.

Vincent was completely bewildered and quickly touched the skirt below. Soon, he breathed a sigh of relief; thankfully, his gender characteristics were still there.

But the terrible situation had not been resolved and was still spiraling out of control!

An ordinary person suddenly possessing the Power of a Demigod. It was like a child suddenly holding the button to launch a missile or nuclear weapon!

The first experience of the extraordinary was a continuous trend of collapse!

"I can't stay here any longer. If this continues, I'll destroy everything here!"

Realizing this, Vincent lifted his foot to move, but his current strength was already vastly different. It was like before he used to pedal a bicycle, and now he was stepping on the pedal of a top-tier sports car. Carelessly, he transformed into an afterimage and shot forward!

In an instant.

In the living room, everything in Vincent's path—tables, chairs, lamp stands, etc.—was shattered to pieces!

His speed didn't diminish. He became a streak of human light and crashed into the balcony's floor-to-ceiling window!

Bang!

The window glass burst open with a crash!!

Without any warning, Vincent flew out of his home on the sixteenth floor!!!
