1. The Core Law Axioms
An Axiom is a statement of absolute personal truth.
When someone accepts a belief so completely that no doubt survives, the world bends to that certainty.
Every Axiom rewrites one rule of reality in a small radius called a Domain.
Examples
Axiom Manifestation Cost
All motion returns to me. Telekinetic recall of objects and attacks. User feels equal recoil each time.
Only the brave deserve breath. Fearless aura; cowards suffocate near the user. The user's fear never fades, slowly hollowing empathy.
I do not lose until all is lost. Reality postpones defeat (Amnesia). Endless exhaustion; cannot rest until total ruin.
Philosophy: Power is not granted it's believed into being. The stronger the conviction, the wider the Domain.
2. Echoes
When two Axioms contradict, their collision births an Echo a remnant of belief that no longer has a believer.
Echoes whisper, tempt, or fuse with hosts.
• Passive Echoes harmless murmurs that replay memories of lost truths.
• Aggressive Echoes fragments that seek new believers; they infect hosts through emotion.
• Synthetic Echoes captured and stabilized by Archivists for study or weaponry.
Trait is unusual because he has no stable Axiom, so Echoes can merge with him temporarily granting borrowed skills at the risk of identity erosion.
3. The Fracture
The world itself splintered when collective belief reached critical mass.
Each shard of reality now follows slightly different physical laws what citizens call Fracture Zones.
Zone Grades
1. Static Zones minor distortions; safe travel.
2. Reactive Zones active local Axioms; dangerous.
3. Neutral Domains areas stabilized by figures like Amnesia.
4. Dead Faith Regions nothing believes here; reality flickers.
5. Blank Fields pure potential; even memory collapses.
Travelers carry Resonance Bands to record which truths dominate a zone before stepping in.
4. Human Classifications
1. Ordinaries no awakened Axiom; rely on relic tech from the pre Fracture age.
2. Axiom Bearers individuals whose conviction has solidified; possess Domains.
3. Echo Hunters specialists trained to track and harvest Echoes for Archivists.
4. Archivists (Pale Order) quasi religious scholars preserving and categorizing beliefs; they govern city states.
5. Fractured beings carrying multiple Axioms; unstable yet immensely powerful. Considered walking paradoxes.
6. Half Divinities theoretical tier where a Fractured stabilizes; they command multiple contradictory truths without collapse. No verified cases… yet.
Trait's eventual evolution the first Fractured Half Divinity is the mythic endpoint of this hierarchy.
5. Skill Layers within Axioms
Each Axiom unfolds in Four Circles of Clarity:
1. Inception The belief sparks. Small anomalies (temperature, light, minor kinetic effects).
2. Expression The Axiom becomes speakable law. Domains form; user gains a unique technique called a Word of Proof.
3. Contradiction User's Axiom faces opposing beliefs; surviving it strengthens or mutates the truth.
4. Revelation The Axiom rewrites its own limits, birthing sub laws or Arts. Here lie phenomena like Nihokinesis control over nothingness itself.
6. Nihokinesis The Void Art
A legendary derivative born from Amnesia's collapse and Trait's absorption of his residual power.
Where most Axioms assert a truth, Nihokinesis denies all truths temporarily, creating pockets of perfect neutrality.
Inside these voids, no other Axiom can function.
It is both defense and erasure the ultimate silence.
Side effect: extended use dissolves the user's sense of self; only an anchor belief can keep their existence coherent.
7. Cultures & Factions
• The Pale Order (Archivists): record and police belief usage; neutrality above morality.
• The Resolved: a militant sect believing that doubt caused the Fracture; they purge "the uncertain."
• Echo Hunters' Guild: mercenary unions capturing Echoes for profit.
• The Sleepless Path: monks following Amnesia's doctrine of balance through exhaustion; rumored to worship oblivion.
• The Blank Choir: fanatics seeking to erase all Axioms to restore a world of one shared truth.
Each faction's ideology fuels the global tension should belief be liberated, regulated, or extinguished?
8. Geography of Faith
The known continent, Lethare, is divided by Resonance Lines natural barriers where conflicting truths crash like tectonic plates.
Major cities float above calmer Fields to avoid physical contradiction.
• Kareth: Scholar city where Trait was born; center of the Archivists.
• Solmer Basin: a living crater glowing with residual Echo storms.
• The Sleepfront: Amnesia's rumored domain; no one who enters remembers leaving.
• The Pale Archive: mobile fortress of the Archivists, always orbiting the strongest belief storm.
9. Key Philosophies
1. Belief Equals Being existence is proportional to conviction.
2. Contradiction Creates Evolution opposing truths birth new possibilities (the "Fracture Principle").
3. Silence Restores Balance the world's natural state is neutrality; all belief is deviation.
These three ideologies shape the political and metaphysical wars that will span the 4 000 chapter saga.
10. Character Snapshot (Current Era)
Name Role Core Conflict Visual Motif
Trait Protagonist; Fractured host. Torn between understanding all truths and losing self. Glass veined eyes, mirrored shadow.
Amnesia Neutral Enemy (Ch. 1 2 000). To balance belief by erasing extremes. Bare feet on still water; eyes closed in wakefulness.
The Archivist Primus, Lir Venn Mentor/antagonist of reason. Believes documentation is salvation; suppresses faith emotion. Hooded scholar, floating codex sigils.
Rho Kael Echo Hunter ally/rival. Uses stolen Axioms as weapons; fears forming his own. Split mask, double voice speech.
Serai of the Blank Choir Later antagonist (post Amnesia). Wishes to nullify all Axioms including human identity. Body of white fractures, halo of silence.
11. How Power Progression Feels to Readers
Early arcs (Ch. 1 200): Discovery. Trait learns to survive Echo exposure.
Middle arcs (200 1 000): Ideological Warfare. He observes belief shaping politics and physics alike.
Later arcs (1 000 2 000): Fusion. Absorbs Amnesia's fragments → becomes the first Fractured.
Final sagas (2 001 4 000): Divinity Through Doubt. Masters Nihokinesis, unites contradictions, challenges the idea that any single truth should rule.
12. Reader Takeaway
Everything in Axiom Fracture stems from one question:
If truth itself can kill you, what kind of lie keeps you alive?
Every power, class, and philosophy echoes that theme belief as both creation and weapon.
