Chapter 2: First Enemy
Hayden had barely begun to stretch the limits of his new godhood when a shadow appeared at the edge of the worlds he had created.
It was massive, blacker than the void itself, yet pulsing with a faint red glow. Its voice was like grinding metal. "So… the last god awakens."
Hayden's eyes narrowed. "Who are you?"
"I am the Hunter," it replied. "And I will claim what is mine."
With a flick of its colossal claw, entire mountains crumbled. Oceans boiled. Cities collapsed before his eyes. Hayden's chest tightened not with fear, but excitement.
So this was his first challenge.
Golden flames engulfed his fists. Black lightning arced across his shoulders. He stepped forward, and the void itself obeyed him. Mountains rose beneath his feet, forming spiked towers like weapons aimed at the shadow.
The Hunter lunged, faster than thought, its claw swinging to crush Hayden. But Hayden's power was absolute. With a thought, the claw froze mid-air. Time bent around him. The Hunter struggled, but Hayden's grip on reality tightened.
"I… am… unstoppable," Hayden said, his voice calm but laced with fury.
The Hunter roared, shattering the frozen air. Hayden smiled. This was more than a test it was a war, and he was already winning.
Yet even as the monster faltered, a cold voice whispered inside Hayden's mind:
"The cost… the cost…"
He ignored it. For now, he would fight. And no one not even a Hunter born from the void could stand in the way of the last god.
