A day like any other on Earth, a boy with short black hair, appearing to be around 15, was walking in a school uniform. Where was he going? Who knows, but one thing was clear: he was not happy at all.
His name? I wouldn't like to remember. His location? Most likely somewhere in Latin America.
The boy looked annoyed; he was probably forced to go to school.
—Damn… Monday again —said the boy with a tone of frustration and melancholy in his voice.
As he walked down the street, just three blocks from his school, he checked the time… a big mistake.
The clock read 2 a.m., when clearly it wasn't even 8 in the morning.
Quickly and bewildered, he asked another person:
—That's strange, seems like it broke.
—What? This thing says it's 3 p.m. —said someone else.
A cold sweat ran down his neck. He was truly facing a supernatural event, like in fictional stories… or maybe it was simply a chain of unfortunate events, one after another.
Unfortunately for him, things weren't going to be as simple as he would have liked.
The sky suddenly, without any explanation, split into pieces as if it were a mirror.
A beautiful mirror of two colors: red and blue. Two shades that would change everything humanity knows. Two shades that would mark the beginning of the end.
With a metallic shine, at an impossible speed, an object —more like a "little tube"— fell from the sky at an exact distance from the black-haired boy; a distance so precise that if he had been a millimeter closer to the impact area, like that woman, he would have already died.
The tube did not open, it released nothing, but the boy felt as if something —a cold, terrifying, transcendental presence— was staring at him. Not only that, it seemed to peer deep into his soul.
A presence so terrifying he almost peed himself, but after the initial shock, he decided to set all this shit aside and run to his school. There, he would explain what had happened; staying longer could get him into much bigger trouble.
When he arrived at his school, he was simply questioned and then allowed to enter his classroom.
It wasn't long before the police showed up in the classroom looking for him. Everyone was surprised, even him, but he remained calm, sensing that something inside him had changed from that gaze.
Some time later, on the road, they arrived at a strange facility where the interrogation began.
—Hello ████████, how are you? —said an officer in his 40s, with barely visible gray hair and a surprisingly relaxed expression for the current situation.
—Hello… I guess —replied the black-haired boy, his tone clearly uneasy.
—I know you have many questions right now: how i know your name, what was that little tube, why are you here, etc… But I assure you all your questions will be answered, as long as you cooperate.
—I suppose that's fine by me —responded the boy with boredom.
After a few hours of interrogation, it finally ended.
—So… can I go home now? It's already night —said the boy with a hint of anxiety— besides, it looks like it's going to rain, look at those clouds.
—I already told you, your parents ███████████ and █████████ have given full consent regarding your current situation, and we have complete freedom to let you stay here. You have a lot to do, so better change out of those clothes.
Later, the boy was seen wearing clothing more like a prisoner's than that of a social worker.
—Eat something, kid, today you probably won't sleep much —said the officer with a tone of concern.
In an unknown room, somewhat far from our protagonists, figures could be seen speaking among themselves.
—So, what are you saying? That their final wish as a species was for this information to be completely transparent? And we're actually going to honor it!?
—Well, we don't know what would happen if we didn't, so it's better to comply.
—Alright, if we're doing it anyway, I'd prefer start with the Yog-Sothoth project —said one of the men, smiling with ambition.
