Chapter 6 - Rong Shuyao’s Roommates

[Bind?]

"Of course, bind her!"

[Binding successful!]

There was no reward for binding—previous gifts had been for new players.

But once bound, Jiang Ning could start "reaping goddess benefits."

This was the part he enjoyed most.

After putting down Rong Shuyao's luggage, Jiang Ning greeted Yin Muyan's parents.

The girls' dorm was spacious, a four-person room with a two-meter-wide aisle.

Rong Shuyao and Yin Muyan's beds were at the far end, facing each other.

"Hello, uncle and aunt, I'm Jiang Ning, also a freshman here!"

Jiang Ning smiled. Having dealt with countless parents before, he remained unfazed.

"Mm."

Yin Muyan's father merely nodded, showing a neutral demeanor.

Her mother asked: "Are you in the same class as my daughter?"

"No, I'm in Economics next door. My friend is in her class," Jiang Ning replied, pointing at Rong Shuyao.

Rong Shuyao quickly greeted them: "Hello, uncle and aunt, I'm Rong Shuyao, your daughter's classmate and roommate!"

Seeing her politeness, Yin Muyan's father nodded, slightly warmer than his initial response.

Her mother smiled: "We look forward to these next four years with our daughter. Please take care of her!"

"Of course!"

Her warm smile was contagious; Rong Shuyao returned it.

Compared to Jiang Ning, she clearly received a bit more favor.

But Jiang Ning didn't mind—after all, in high school, no parent had ever treated him kindly.

His past was rough, so he was used to it.

Jiang Ning asked: "Auntie, where are you from? I'm from Eastern Guangdong!"

She replied: "Su Province, Su City."

"I'm from Fujian!" Rong Shuyao added.

The mother chuckled: "No wonder I hear a Fujian accent in your speech."

She glanced at Rong Shuyao and asked: "You came alone?"

"Yes, I came by myself. My parents wanted to come, but I said I'm grown now and need independence, so they let me come alone."

"Coming alone isn't easy. Even in a law-abiding society, you must be careful around bad people."

"Of course!"

"You're brave, just like my daughter. Both eighteen, right?"

"Yes, eighteen years and four months."

"Our daughter is about a month older than you."

The mother chatted with Rong Shuyao for a few minutes. Jiang Ning didn't butt in.

Afterward, Yin Muyan's father stepped out for a call, then returned: "Let's grab a meal. I have to leave tonight."

"So soon?"

"No choice, busy schedule."

"Yanyan, let's go eat!"

After a moment, Yin Muyan nodded.

The mother smiled at Rong Shuyao: "We'll step out for a while, Yao Yao!"

"Bye, auntie and uncle!"

"See you tonight!"

Yin Muyan whispered to Rong Shuyao.

Rong Shuyao replied: "See you tonight!"

The trio left the dorm.

"That boy seems unreliable. Yanyan, at university, don't interact too much with boys, especially those with improper intentions!"

Even at a low volume, Jiang Ning could hear thanks to his enhanced hearing.

"With our family conditions and yours, he must be exceptional!"

"Absolutely no romance during university. Too many scumbags out there. Some girls end up being scammed or ruined for life!"

"And get along with your roommates. If not, we don't need to force it. With our family status, don't compromise! Watch out for those with poor character!"

Yin Muyan merely replied: "I understand."

The mother turned to her husband: "Old Yin, that riverside penthouse I mentioned—over a hundred million. Shall we buy it for Yanyan? Can't have her stuck in a dorm forever."

Yin Muyan's father asked his daughter: "Do you prefer a villa or the penthouse?"

She shook her head: unnecessary.

"One hundred million… penthouse, villa…"

Jiang Ning's scalp tingled.

Buying a luxury apartment or villa was like picking vegetables for them—no wonder they ignored him.

He hadn't expected Yin Muyan's family to be this wealthy.

Still, he wasn't interested in their fortune. Jiang Ning only cared about "reaping goddess benefits."

Yin Muyan? Not yet—he would wait for future opportunities.

Over the next half-hour, as Rong Shuyao unpacked, Jiang Ning chatted with the other two roommates.

By nature, he got along easily with women.

Rong Shuyao's other roommates:

Cheng Yuhe, from Zhejiang, tall (1.7m), refined beauty.

An Youyi, from Guangzhou, Guangdong, slightly smaller (1.65m), cute, baby-faced. She even spoke Cantonese with Jiang Ning.

Through casual conversation, Jiang Ning learned about their families:

Cheng Yuhe: family owns a company; well-off.

An Youyi: both parents are civil servants in the city; comfortably middle-class.

So the dorm setup was clear:

Yin Muyan: ultra-rich second-generation heiress, best financial status.

Rong Shuyao: monthly allowance ¥20,000, well-off, minor heiress.

Cheng Yuhe: also a second-generation heiress; exact wealth unknown.

An Youyi: stable government-family, comfortable.

As the saying goes, "If your family isn't wealthy, don't study finance."

This dorm was harmonious; the next four years would likely be smooth.

Families in good standing tend not to compete; fewer conflicts arise.

As for personal character, Rong Shuyao was good-natured. Jiang Ning didn't yet know much about the others—people's character often reveals itself over time.

"Rong Shuyao, I'm heading back to my dorm."

Seeing her room mostly organized, Jiang Ning prepared to leave.

"Jiang Ning!"

Rong Shuyao flashed her WeChat QR code—Jiang Ning got it immediately.

Even after a few hours of acquaintance, they hadn't added each other yet.
