The world consists of a lot of worlds known as the universe. However, not every universe has the same fate.
Some had it way worse, and some had it way better.
In each universe, there is you — maybe in the future, the past, or even at the same time, but with a different fate.
There is a universe named UN0977, and there resides a man named Chayu. The day he was born, even gods shed tears of sorrow — not because they were sad, but because they were scared.
In every universe, whenever he is born, gods become frightened and worried about the future of the world. But they are bound by laws made by one supreme being, laws that prevent them from interfering no matter what.
Why they were scared, why they couldn't interfere, and even who made the laws — no one knew.
In universe UN0977, Chayu is now 9 years old. He is a normal boy who doesn't even complete his homework and never does anything on time, because of which he always gets punished. However, Chayu is an innocent boy. He has his own imaginary world where only he exists with his friends and family — just like any other little boy.
When he turned 13, he saw a girl. She was too beautiful to describe. It was Chayu's first time being attracted to a girl. He had never thought about any girl in his life before. However, today was different. He was too happy or maybe too excited — it was hard to describe his feelings since he had fallen in love with her.
Days passed by. He couldn't confess anything to her, but coincidentally, he became her friend. They used to fight over bus seats or tease each other — just like any pair of teenage best friends. It was Chayu's happiest time, when he could enjoy teasing someone like that.
A few years passed. Eventually, a piece of news suddenly appeared — that Earth was nearing its end.
No one knew how true that news was. It was just a discovery by a space institute claiming that some unknown power was corroding the Earth. However, only a few higher-ups knew that the whole universe was being corroded by that power.
Chayu was 16 now. He was happy with his best friend named Digu. She never knew how much Chayu loved her, but to her, he was someone she could share anything with — like a real best friend.
One day, when Chayu went near her house, he found her parents worried since Digu hadn't returned since yesterday. He started looking for her. He searched every street, every colony, and even with the help of the police, he couldn't find a trace of her.
As the investigation was about to end without results, the police found a clip — showing her vanishing into thin air while walking toward her home. It was too mysterious to believe, yet the police confirmed the video wasn't tampered with.
This incident shocked everyone, but for Chayu, it was the biggest shock of his life. He couldn't even confess how much he loved her.
A year later, Chayu had become uninterested in everything. He was about to give up on life. He went near a bridge over a great river and jumped off, since there was still no news of her. He just wanted to spend a little more time with her — even if it meant the end.
As he jumped, he closed his eyes and thought about every regretful moment. His eyes filled with tears as he thought of her. To him, she was too special. He wanted to spend every day with her, to confess his feelings, but now everything seemed impossible.

He was drowning in the water. However, the water didn't hurt him — instead, it wiped his tears, and he could even breathe underwater.
While Chayu's mind was going blank from confusion, he thought he had died and that breathing underwater was just a dream.
After a while, Chayu came to his senses and was perplexed by what was happening. When he was about to get out of the water, he heard a voice — a deep, echoing voice that seemed to belong to the universe itself.
"Wait. The world shall end with you; therefore, you can't die. You wield the power of water, which is essential for this universe as well as others. The mighty gods in heaven don't want you to die just like that. You have to save the world," the voice said.
Chayu, still confused, asked,
"Why should I save the world when it doesn't even have the person I want? What was her fault, or was it mine? How can gods be so heartless as to make her vanish?"
The voice answered without emotion,
"The High Heaven isn't the one who did it — nor were the gods. There are a few people in every universe who wield powers just like you."
Chayu, surprised, asked again,
"Then can I do something to bring her back? Was it her own wish, or did something bad happen to her?"
The voice replied deeply,
"You can, since she is still alive. However, there are death threats everywhere on your path to finding her. I can't tell you who did it or why, but I can tell you what you should do."
Chayu, with a faint ray of hope, asked,
"What do I need to do?"
The voice answered,
"You need to master your control over your powers within a year. Your team shall be victorious."
With that, the voice disappeared.
Chayu shouted,
"Wait! What team? What will happen after a year?"
However, no voice came in response.
But Chayu understood one thing — he had to master the power of water, no matter what.
