Sil gave them a quick tour of his home then grabbed his wife. He sat down with her on his lap. Shalt took care of the kids and Caser returned to his mate and little ones upstairs. Vorden, Raten, and Shiro each took a seat and Lana listened as Sil filled her in on what happened while he was gone.
On Blade Island, Mona showed him how to tame a beast with her ability so he could use it to move the dragon. The beast that attacked Logan's ship when they went to rescue Sil had become her pet. Eno used the tablet to give Shiro the ability then they gave him time to learn how to use it. They found notebooks in the library on using different abilities. Soon Shiro was able to move consciences between beasts.
Quinn touched the tablet and it lit up which had never happened before. The tablet told him to leave the dragon beast alone, not to move it. Eno was angry that Quinn was listening to a strange voice in a tablet rather than him. While there, the dalki arrived on Lana's planet. Sil was concerned but also knew Lana had done everything she could to maintain a secret profile and expected her to be okay.
Lana nodded, "I have them under surveillance. I provided the footage of the attack of the Earthborne forces on One-Horn to Sam. It wasn't pretty. Any news on Oscar?"
"I was just getting ready to go there. When Quinn felt Shiro couldn't learn any more about his ability, he decided it was time to leave and head to see Oscar. General Innu attacked and Quinn defeated his forces then handled Innu in his own Quinn-sort of way." Sil chuckled.
"Quinn turned General Sac and he went to the Cursed ship to learn how to be a vampire."
Lana nodded. "The female general and Oscar?"
"The female was Samantha, Oscar's daughter. She was non-functioning with her grief. Oscar was in a tube with only his head and half of his chest intact. Shiro tried to reach him but passed out. While Quinn and Fex took care of Samantha, Shiro and I snuck back in the room and switched bodies. He went in using my body, my MC and was able to reach Oscar. He chose to end is life. He had some last words for Quinn. Samantha was severely distraught when we left. From there, we went to the planet where we found these lovely beasts."
"Once cornered, Shiro entered the mind of the one Raten is in and explained things. He had already put Raten in there so it was quite the conversation."
Lana giggled.
"And the one Vorden is in?"
"The beasts are still in the bodies. Muddy, as we call him, spoke to the other beast, we call Tails, and explained the deal. The humans were to leave the planet and never return again. They were mining and were going to kill the planet. Quinn swapped planets with them so that planet now belongs to the Cursed Faction."
Lana nodded. "My planet also will not be mined." She took a deep breath because she didn't know how this was going to be received. "While you were gone, I realized the metal thing the Bree representative gave me was a key for my sword. It makes the sword even more powerful."
"Wait," Raten said in his rough beast voice, "you are using a beast weapon?"
Lana shook her head, "it's not a beast weapon. In fact, Alex can't recognize the material it's made from and it has many buttons and such. In a battle where Sil was present, I hit a button on accident. It confirmed my DNA was from my mother then evolved me into this. The sword is also the key to get into the lab. If you don't have authorization to be there, bad things will happen."
She took another deep breath and then told them about the demon-tier beast and her deal with them. "My travelers are now on Caladi and the planet that was under the Crows when we first got there."
Raten sat forward in his seat, "there is no hunting of beasts on your planet?" The voice wasn't that of Raten so she could only assume Muddy was the one speaking.
"That is correct. In exchange, the beasts will help me defend from outsiders. The dalki are still here defending the other shelter from the beasts. I have no control over them. For right now, I'm content with the situation but it will change soon. I'm concerned about moving just yet because the dalki took Minnie. She's the daughter of the leader of that shelter. I made her a promise, and I intend to keep it. First, I need to find her."
"So, the dalki are not only standing between the humans and peace but also peace on this planet where the beasts will no longer be hunted?"
Lana nodded.
Vorden asked, "is there a game plan to locate where they took Minnie?"
"I don't know if Logan can track that back but the Command Post recorded all the electronic signatures. I told them to send them to Logan so he should have them by now. They were sent to his e-mail. We can only wait and see."
"Also, I don't know if you guys were told or not… Arthur was really attached to Minnie. He is now working for the dalki. I'm sure she was taken to make sure he complies with his end of whatever deal he has with them. I'm also sure the dalki are protecting the shelter because Arthur used to and is now away."
"Why didn't you bring those people into your shelter?" Shiro asked. "And who is Arthur?"
Lana explained who Arthur was then continued her answer to his question.
"Because they were known to Arthur. I didn't want to incur his wrath by moving them. Honestly, I don't even know if he'd be okay with me building my shelter here. For all I know, he could be angry there are so many humans on the planet he claimed for his Punishers, he might want to annihilate us all."
