These beasts didn't attack the workers but Lana and Shalt got bored standing there with all the others who were doing the guarding. Shalt was now B rank.
Lana had been doing her weekly reports to both people but nothing much was happening on their ends and hers was pretty boring as well focusing on getting her area set up. She had no plans for recruiting just yet but wanted the area to feel done. She wanted to be able to focus on other things. She was still having to grow food as the farmers were studying farming but they always harvested her crops and stored them properly. This meant there was a bit of a stockpile so she didn't need to worry about food for now.
Quinn was still rank C because he and his team weren't going out as much as they wanted to. The current focus was training and planning for the attack. Quinn told Alex to create Lana's stuff first. By the time Lana actually got there to get her stuff, Quinn had found his soul weapon and had to rest afterward because it was quite an interesting one. Lana was still unsure what to use those items for and had not spent much time thinking about it. She had 26 people plus the children who now depended on her and she needed to act like it.
Before leaving, she purchased half the inventory from the confectioners. She'd be lying if some wasn't for her but she was hoping to get some trade going for her people once Quinn succeeded in taking over the Crows.
At the Crows base, she got an update on everything they were doing from preparations, not that she really needed it. A teleporter had been put in between the ship and the planet. On the way there, Logan let her know her teleporter was ready and she needed to come get it. He reminded her to bring her faction computer with her when she came. It would be a minor disruption for quests but it would only be a day so she wasn't worried about that. She informed Quinn she would be putting her teleporter in as well and reminded him it would be limited access.
Shalt carried all the trays of sweets to the travelers' center around dinner time and shared the treats. Lana let them know they were made by her new members. They would be posted in the online market place for purchase if anyone was interested.
Alex wanted to come back to her faction and set up the equipment for Dilly. She cleared that as well with Quinn. Since she had to go see Logan, it would be really easy to get him back quickly. Shalt piloted the ship back home to drop off Alex and refill the hopper for the crystals. They got the faction computer and left a message with Crystal at the command post about the temporary disruption and headed off to see Logan.
Lana gave Shalt permission to take the ship out of stealth mode when not near home because it could look suspicious and it would make travel slower. She wanted to get the computer back a soon as she could.
Logan looked better than he did the last time they were there. He took them back to the same lab. Lana hadn't realized it last time but Caser's claws made a clicking sound on Logan's floor with each step. Logan explained he was linking their faction system with the teleporter so she could choose who had access. She was also given a back door access to the Crow's faction so she could give Quinn and anyone else she chose access as well.
She thanked Logan quite profusely. Logan then had his spiders load the teleporter into the ship. He explained which went to her planet and which went to Quinn's ship so she could make sure not to mix that up. She thanked Logan once again, let him know she was still quite good on funds and off they went again.
They flew back home to get Alex but he wasn't ready yet. They had trouble choosing a cavern below to place it. Shalt decided while they waited, they could unload the teleporter into the area below the command post. Technically this is the room where the underground portion of the communication system was but Lana didn't want their only teleporter to be unsupervised. Right now it had to be due to lack of people.
By the time Shalt got all the pieces down below, Alex was ready. Dilly said she needed something to work on so Lana gave her the king tier crystals and asked her what she needed to mix it with. Dilly told her there was a specific spider silk she needed. Lana stopped by the command post and made that purchase. Dilly would be able to make many robes, just needed crystals. She gave her all the advanced tier crystals she had as well.
Lana's clothes were really tight now. She needed to move to maternity clothes but needed armor as well. She hoped Dilly could be quick. She decided to change before heading out but wear her jacket, bracers and the hair tie. She would need to rely on Shalt and her abilities.
Shalt headed to the Crow planet first to drop off Alex. She looked around for Quinn to let him know they were going to his ship to put in the teleporter. It was his ship, he had the right to know anyway. Being out of her beast clothes made her pregnancy obvious and she became self-conscious walking around.
Linda saw her go into Nate's office. She found Quinn in there talking to Sam and let him know where she was going. Linda came in just as she was leaving. Lana was still uncomfortable with her but she was slowly adjusting. "How are you doing? Do you need anything from us?"
Lana shook her head. "Not right now. We are heading up to the ship to put in our teleporter and I wanted to let Quinn know. He said Sam and Fex put one in already so I should ask Peter where they put that one I and put it in the same room."
Linda looked her in the eye, "I wanted to apologize for my behavior during the assessment. I knew the group was lying but I thought the whole group was. I was trying to catch you guys on your lies. Can I walk you to your ship?"
Lana was wary, "I guess you can walk with us."
Once they got to a more secluded area, "Quinn told me you are part of his Curse Family even though you started one of your own? How does that work?"
"Once his is set up, I will set myself up in the system as subordinate to him. We will be trading partners at the very least. What did he tell you about his Cursed Family?"
They were at the ship now. Linda looked around and stepped aboard. "I was turned during that big hunt. I'm what is called a drauger. Sam will be turned as well. You still smell human to me so I was wondering about that."
"I am still human. I need to offer an apology. I don't know what he's told you so I don't feel comfortable discussing this topic. All I can say is Quinn does have a few humans in his family. If you're his turned you will meet them. Okay? Or find a way to discuss this with him."
Linda nodded, "Safe travels." And stepped off the ship so they could leave.
It took a few a hours on the ship for Shalt to get the teleporter set up. They ended up spending the night there. Luckily there was still some food in the canteen. The next day they returned home. The other teleporter was already up when they got there. Dilly had already made her fabric. Lana went to the command post and entered teleport permissions for now her and Shalt only, on their end. B and higher also had permission in the system to bring others through as well. The lower ranks were only allowed to bring themselves. The portal automatically closed after one person. She didn't know who on the other end should have permission yet.
Now they could get busy exploring the planet and seeing what it had to offer.
