Chapter 13 - 13 shock

When Kacchan kissed me, it was everything I had ever hoped. It was perfect. It was wonderful. It was amazing and great and every other synonym I can think of.

His lips were soft, his hand cupping my cheek calloused. I brought a hand up to his hair, surprised but happy to find it smooth as silk. When I finally pulled away to breathe, all I could look at was his blood red eyes filled with emotion. I pressed butterfly-gentle kisses along his jaw, before nestling into the crook of his neck and holding his hand, looking up at him with all the love and joy I had hoped for my whole life.

It was the perfect moment.

And then it wasn't.

The window shattered and glass rained down on both of us, me and Kacchan immediately jumping up to fight. The League of Villains swung in through the now broken window, toga holding Kacchan at knife point and Shigiraki gripping my neck with his pinky lifted. He smiled, his cracked lips pulling tight over yellowed teeth.

"Good work, little bird. Time to come home." The entire room was swallowed in purple smoke as we all disappeared, too fast for the rushing students who heard the commotion to catch up.

I woke, yet again, in an unfamiliar place with a pounding headache. This time, it was at the base of my skull where my neck meets, and I tried to lift a hand but they were chained back. My eyes were covered with either a blindfold or a bag, so I deemed it the safer option to pretend I was still asleep until I could get my bearings and remember what happened.

F***, why can't I remember anything? The more I try to remember, the foggier it becomes. Until I realized with a jolt I don't know who I am. I don't know who I am, where I am, or what's happening.

And it's f***ing terrifying. For some reason, though, I get the distinct feeling I don't want anyone to know that.

Footsteps pound, heavy boots on old wooden floors stomping towards me like they want me to know they're coming. The bag is ripped off my head, and I look up to see a face that I feel should be familiar. A face that fills me with so many emotions all at once. Jealousy, guilt, shock, love and joy, and then... Betrayal? The face smiles down at me, but I get the feeling the smile is wrong.

The person has black hair with green roots growing in, and emerald green eyes that seem to avoid the light altogether. Another thing I get the feeling is wrong. They're wearing a suit, a red button up with black tie and vest. They have gloves on, dress gloves. He's both the most beautiful person I've ever met and the most terrifying creature I've ever seen. The creature smiled again.

"Sorry for this, love. I'll explain everything later. Just sleep tight for now." He brushed a hand lovingly across my cheek that made my stomach turn in both a good and bad way. And then he knocked me out again.
